  • Viewing folders using Hotmail in Mail?

I'm using Hotmail in Mail and can only see Inbox, Sent and Junk folders.
How do I see all my mailbox folders?
    Thank you
(NB not sure if this is in the correct forum?).

I was trying to find something on it, but I cant get into the account anymore, I deleted my hotmail account after I signed up with Gmail.
~BUT, if it is the same, I would log onto Gmail, and then went to the Mail Settings, and they had a list of options of what you could push to your other email devices.
Hope its the same for hotmail!

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • Failed connection using hotmail in mail

Hi, i recently changed my email address, my old one after downloading the neccessary package, worked well in Mail but the new one does not, i have removed all old accounts and it is completely empty but everytime i try to add the new account it appears to work but i cant send or receive mail because it says the connection failed and gives me the following message :Could not connect to 'httpmail Account'
Access to Hotmail via Outlook and Outlook Express now requires a subscription. Please sign up at http://join.msn.com/general/Email.
What does this mean? i have signed up for my new account and it works using hotmail.com so why wont it work in Mail? please help me soon!

Hotmail does not allow you to get your mail via POP3 unless you have a paid subscription starting at $19.95 /year.
The free version is only accessable via webmail UNLESS you use something like HTTPMail

  • Can I use Hotmail with Mail?

The title pretty much says it all, and if I can use Hotmail with it, how do I set up mail to do so? Thanks in advance.
    Daniel

How long have you had this Hotmail account?
Since I've never had a Hotmail account and never will, I'm not sure but I believe when Microslop made the subscription change which restricted accessing a free Hotmail account with any email client such as the Mail.app, existing free Hotmail accounts at the time the change was made were not affected.
If your Hotmail account was recently created, you must have a paid Hotmail account in order to access it with any email client.
    Why bother with Microslop anyway?
You can get a free Gmail account, enable POP forwarding via the Gmail account preferences with webmail access which provides for accessing a Gmail account as a POP type account with the Mail.app.

  • USING HOTMAIL IN "Mail"?

I was wondering if it was possible to use a free online internet account (like hotmail) but using the mac "mail" interface? When I tried to set up an account on "mail", i was asked confusing questions about what "server" my mail was on. Thanks in advance for any help, correct me if i am wrong.

    Hi golfromeo
The trouble with many free mail providers, including Hotmail and Yahoo, is that they don't use the POP standard which would allow you to interface with client email programs such as Apple Mail. Both the paid Yahoo Plus, and the free GMail, both use POP, and their help pages will aid you in configuring Mail for their accounts.
One way to work with Hotmail is to use MacFreePOPs. You have to have this utility running all the time, but it seems to work well for a couple of clients I've recommended it to.

  • Is it Ok that newly purchased iMac gets Hot not just Warm, and smells sometimes like burnt plastic?? Just by using safari for mails And playing Radio??? Or i must throw it!! since Can't get any Direct contact to Apple!!!

IS IT OK that a newly purchased  iMac -intel Lion- gets So HOT That it smells like Burnt Plastic,Not Warm but  Hot!!??.. Just only by using safari-reading mails or newspapers- And playing Radio with VLC??!!!!...Or i must throw it away before it explodes??!!...Since Not possible to contact direct Apple to replace it !!!!..-they send me automatically from one adress to the other And No reply!!.THANKS!!

I don't know where you live or what you're talking about being sent from one address to another.  Your iMac has a 90 day warranty with tech support and service, if needed.  Apple has toll-free phone numbers in the US.  You call that number, get to speak to a tech, give that person your computer's serial number and describe the problem.  I suspect that there are similar arrangements in other parts of the world.  That is "direct contact" with Apple.  Have you tried to do that where you live?  Wny are you trying to communicate in writing (by e-mail?)?  In addition, if you don't have Apple Care you should immediately purchase it if you're still eligible.  It'll extend your warranty to 3 full years.

  • I use Hotmail for my business e-mail account and after an automatic upgrade I can no longer send out e-mails. HELP!!

When I try to send out an e-mail, it lets me enter the recipient's name and a subject but I am unable to enter anything in the body. I have not been able to add attachments for a while now because of the last time I upgraded. As I stated, this is my business e-mail and I really need it to be working. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Oh my goodness! Thank you sooo much! This worked. I can now stop sending the business e-mails from my personal account - ha ha. Since you helped me with this, maybe you can help me with one more thing. I haven't been able to attach to e-mails in this account for quite awhile now, just been using a jump drive, since a previous automatic update. I didn't obsess over it due to the fact that I could still send e-mails. Any more help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
By the way, you also put it in terms I could understand. I'm not computer illiterate, just not as up to date as I should be. Step-by-steps help alot! :D

  • Firefox is my default browser, yet a direct e-mail link brings up IE. I use Hotmail for all my mail, Can I change something so a direct e-mail links brings up hotmail in firefox rather than IE?

When I click on a direct e-mail link (e.g."send mail") Hotmail (my e-mail of choice) comes up in IE even though Firefox is my default browser. Can I change something so that it brings up Hotmail in firefox?
    == This happened ==
    A few times a week
    == all the time

    Please post info:
    In Thunderbird
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
click on 'copy text to clipboard'
    paste info into this question
remove/edit all info on fonts and printers. but nothing else.
Please state which account is set as default.
It will appear at the top of your Folder Pane and Account Settings.
Go into Tools > account Settings
    select the top mail account
    click on 'Account Actions'
Is the 'set as default' greyed out? This means it is already set as default.

  • Using Hotmail in Mail with Lion?

I have a Hotmail account which I access via Safari/Google Chrome etc and have also set it up successfully via the Mail app on my iPhone and iPad.
However, when i access it via Mail on my MacBook Pro (which uses Lion), the next time i access it via the internet browser it has moved hundreds of old mails to trash - does anybody know why this might be happening?
Also, out of interest, is it possible to set up a new e-mail account with Apple and access it remotely via a browser (in the same way hotmail works)?
    Many thanks
(NB: I have also posted this elsewhere as not sure I put it in the right forum, so apologies for the duplication).

that worked but then i got an error "There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account “[email protected] ” or try again.
The server error encountered was: The connection to the server “pop3” on port 110 timed out."
also if i delete from mail will it delete on the server?- unlike my itouch-is there a way i can get emails to delete from the server if i delete them from my itouch?

  • Can't use Hotmail/Live Mail

Ever since I reinstalled Safari, I can't check my mail.live.com account. It opens up the top message, but there's no way to click any of the other messages in my inbox. I tried looking for a setting or perhaps using the Tab key to select the messages individually with no success. Is this a known bug?

Same for me, and most Hotmail users I believe, there are various threads about it. There is a way to get it to work until Apple fixes the bug:
    1. Go into Safari>Preferences>Advanced Tab>choose the show Develop in menu bar tickbox.
    2. Go onto Hotmail> log in
    3. Go into Develop (which should now be in your menu bar inbetween Bookmarks and Window.
    4. Choose User Agent>Firefox 3.5.0 (Mac) or any other Firefox browser, which appears.
Or just use Firefox when you want to access Hotmail. Apple will have this sorted soon no doubt.

  • Problem using Hotmail with Mail

I recently installed leopard and configured a hotmail account to use with mail, but the problem is that every time I open Mail, it downloads all the emails from the account, and even if I delete them or mark them as read, the next time I open mail, they'll show up again, and it's very annoying. Any solution other than deleting all the emails on the hotmail account??
    Thanks

P.S. I just noticed another issue here: everytime I receive a message in my hotmail account, it shows up twice in Mail. The first problem is more important, but this one's annoying too..Any clue?

  • Using Hotmail with Mail?

    Hi
is it possible to re-route Hotmail into the Mail program? I would prefer to do this than use an '@mac' address, but the Mail program is nicer to use . If this is possible, how would I go about doing this?
    thanks
    Josh

Thanks very much! The plug in was very helpful, however now a message pops up saying that i need to subscribe to hotmail. Fair enough, I followed the link but there doesn't seem to be anything extra i can subscribe to!!! I cannot buy any additional account bonuses.
However, windows is now running Live now so instead of hotmail. Could this possibly be part of the problem?
    Any support would be great.
    Thanks
    Josh

  • Using Hotmail on Mail?

is it possible to access my hotmail account through mail? i.e. if i opened mail i could see my hotmail account or must i use the @mac address?

    Hello Josh
Mail is a standard POP/IMAP client. It is not mandatory to have a .Mac address, .Mac provide IMAP connectivity, unlike hotmail.
Hotmail uses a protocol specific to Microsoft, AFAIK, based on HTTP, that's why you can't use regular email clients to use it (though Entourage, obviously, provide Hotmail account compatibility).
There is a plugin you can test and use if it works correctly, but this is a hack and unsupported by Apple : HTTPMail Plugin
    Good luck
