Using Hotmail with Ovi mail (Syncing)

Hi,
Is there a way to connect OVI mail to Hotmail via POP so it checks and downloads new messages away from hotmail only when I check them via OVI?
So what I plan on doing is creating an imap folder on my OVI mail account that shows all my new hotmail messages but only when I check it via OVI
Is this possible? That will be great if it is as it'll mean imap hotmail
and I can slowly wean myself away from hotmail as well (It's rubbish for not having imap)

i had Nokia Messaging and my hotmail synced and recived my emails auotmatically and now its not. I have to sync manually sync each time now. And why cant i log on to my msn messenger through my ovi chat . I keep getting a message about the sevice not being available for my region or operator why is that.

You're showing as running a Windows machine.
I would suggest using Google Mail. You can either set up GM to forward your messages, or configure Mail's POP3 account settings and have them brought in when you do a 'get mail'.

Using hotmail with mac mail

Is there a way to add my hotmail account to mail? When I try it asks me for the incoming and outgoing mail servers and I don't know the information. I would also like to add my yahoo account.

Can I use hotmail with the Mail app?

I looked at the mail app, but didn't see hotmail in there. Can I use it on the touch after upgrading?

I had this question as well. i don't think MSN or Hotmail allows the enabling of pop mail. Therefore it cannot be used unless you subscribe it to a pop mail client. I just switched over to gmail to maike things easier. But would love to find out an answer to this question

How long have you had this Hotmail account?
Since I've never had a Hotmail account and never will, I'm not sure but I believe when Microslop made the subscription change which restricted accessing a free Hotmail account with any email client such as the Mail.app, existing free Hotmail accounts at the time the change was made were not affected.
If your Hotmail account was recently created, you must have a paid Hotmail account in order to access it with any email client.
Why bother with Microslop anyway?
You can get a free Gmail account, enable POP forwarding via the Gmail account preferences with webmail access which provides for accessing a Gmail account as a POP type account with the Mail.app.

There is an update avaialbe for Ford systems to correct bluetooth problems. You need to update your system.

Only 274 mails are coming when using pop3 with java mail

Only 274 mails are coming from GMAIL when using pop3 with java mail. but there are more than 3000 mails.
I'm not getting the reason, code is given below:

Is it possible that GMail only allows access to untagged emails via POP3? Or only to emails from the last x days?
POP3 is the older email retrieval protocol (IMAP4 is the more current one) and only has very limited support for folders (or anything but a single inbox, really). It's quite common that POP3 only allows access to a subset of all emails stored by a provider.

Using Hotmail with Mail?

is it possible to re-route Hotmail into the Mail program? I would prefer to do this than use an '@mac' address, but the Mail program is nicer to use . If this is possible, how would I go about doing this?

Thanks very much! The plug in was very helpful, however now a message pops up saying that i need to subscribe to hotmail. Fair enough, I followed the link but there doesn't seem to be anything extra i can subscribe to!!! I cannot buy any additional account bonuses.
However, windows is now running Live now so instead of hotmail. Could this possibly be part of the problem?
Any support would be great.

does not seem like iPod touch support industry standards like HTTP mail account type. iPod touch only supports POP, IMAP and Exchange.
Five options to get hotmail to work for you:
1. Upgrade your hotmail to Hotmail Plus.
Note this will cost you about $20 per year. The you can get the POP details and use this.
2. With IzyMail, you can access Hotmail

How to reply from Gmail account using Hotmail address in Mail app in iPhone iOS 6?

Since the iOS 6 upgrade on my 4 iPhone, the "imap.gmail.com" won't work.
I had my e-mail set up as "other" and would receive my Hotmail in Gmail using imap, so I could reply using my Hotmail address.
So I deleted everything and tried again but it still won't work.
In the mean time, I am using the Gmail App but can't use the Apple Mail app because it won't reply from my Hotmail address, and I do not want to have to choose my reply-to address; I didn't have to before.
I do not want to use my Gmail address for anything.
I want to always use my Hotmail address.
Praying for help! I want to be able to use my Mail app like before!
Also not sure if the Gmail app is killing my battery, or if the new iOS 6 is....

I check my Hotmail in Gmail. I love how Gmail is set up.
I've tried deleting and recreating.
In order to check my Hotmail in Gmail on the iPhone, and reply from my Hotmail address using Gmail, you have to set up your mail on the iPhone using "other" when adding an e-mail account.
Since the upgrade, it will no longer let me use the "imap" feature and based on my research, it seems like everyone is having this issue.
Yes, I can use the Gmail e-mail account, but when I reply it'll show my Gmail address and I'd like it to show my Hotmail address WITHOUT having to use a drop-down menu and switch the reply-to address.

Cant use POP with mac mail from yahoo

everytime i try and set up my POP account from yahoo into my mac mail, it says the server isnt responding. tried it weeks ago and now today. my trial of .macs expiring soon and i need to import my email onto my desktop. anyone know how to make it work???

I'm having the same problem. Have been running Mac Mail for several months using POP with Yahoo without any issue at all. In just the last day though I haven't been receiving any inbound mail, but I can send outbound. I've called Yahoo and they say they don't support Mac Mail. They've tried to help, in fact found one setting at their end that was off, but they don't have the tools to troubleshoot Mac issues very well. I suspect it's a problem at Yahoo because I have two other non-Yahoo accounts that are coming in through Mac Mail just fine. So I'm going to call them back and see if they can find anything else.

Using an alias should conceal your actual iCloud email address, even in the headers of messages sent. You may need to verify that you are sending messages from that alias. In order to send a message from your alias, select that address in the From field when composing a message.

Problem using Hotmail with Mail

I recently installed leopard and configured a hotmail account to use with mail, but the problem is that every time I open Mail, it downloads all the emails from the account, and even if I delete them or mark them as read, the next time I open mail, they'll show up again, and it's very annoying. Any solution other than deleting all the emails on the hotmail account??

Ever since updating to 7.0.1 I am unable to attach anything to e-mails sent using Hotmail with my firefox browser. I have no problems using IE. Any ideas?

(the attachment buttons are all visible, but the cursor does not change from an arrow to a finger to click on them)

I did all the steps suggested by you, viz. clearing the cache and removing all the cookies of all the Google products. Unfortunately, when I tried to log into my G-mail account, the original problem I had posted, '''just returned'''! ! So, I have not been able to successfully log on to G-mail from Mozilla Firefox 8, the current version I am using.
In the mean while, I found that logging in to G-mail from the Google Chrome browser works fine. But I am not happy with the Chrome, as it lacks many of the elegant features of Firefox.
Further, from the HELP forum of G-mail,
I found that they have updated G-mail to "G-Mail2" and now to "Better G-Mail2". But I was unable to get any information on how to create an account under either of those newer versions from Firefox.
So, I have to sadly report that your suggested solution did not work, nor was I able to log in to any of the newer versions.

How to use Hotmail with my iPad2

I have my iPad2 set up so it is using my DSL router through ethenet.
I also went through the steps: Settings/Mail Contacts Calendars/Hotmail Exchange and
got my Hotmail Account information verified.
I can get on Hotmail and can type into the Address bars and the Subject Header.
But I can not type in the message window. I have tried using both the bluetooth keyboard
and the on-screen keyboard. I can finger press on the address bar and Header and get
a blinking cursor, but I can not get a blinking cursor in the message window no matter what I do.
When we were at the Wireless store where we bought the iPad, Hotmail worked there.
And it worked when we first tried it at home. Now I can't figure out why we can't type in
the message window.
Also, in the Contacts Window when I choose BCC or CC, I get only a partial list of all my
Contacts and can't figure out how to scroll down to see the rest of them. Using my finger
to go up and down in the window with the partial listing does not work.
Thanks in advance if you can help me with this. I definitely tried doing Net searches; that is
where I came up with the procedure above about how to to the Hotmail Exchange sequence.

Second, for not realizing how the Mail Accounts work on the iPad.
Since I had chosen Yahoo as my primary email account on the iPad, I thought I had
to access Hotmail through the Net and sign in that way. I have since
put all my wife's and my Hotmail and Yahoo accounts on correctly,
and now know that we can switch among them.
We can type in the message window, and we can use our finger to scroll the contacts.
