How do i get ipod video software without buying ipod video, if so, can i use this software on my nano?

Err.. you can't.
The video decoder is not software based, all the playback relies on a Broadcom video processing chip that is only present on the new 5G iPods. The software for iPod video is with the iPod Updaters that are on Apple's website.
Again, the iPod nano cannot play video.

A third-party app probably cannot obtain a stream from another app. To the best of my knowledge, such a capability is not provided in the software development kit, apps being "sandboxed" from each other and so allowed to communicate only in very specific and limited ways.
I'm not completely sure what you mean by "limitations on video capture". An iPhone, to the best of my knowledge, can natively record video only through it's built-in camera, and audio while doing video recording only through the built-in microphone or mic/headphone jack. There might be a video recording app that would allow audio input from an external device connected to the dock connector, but I'm not sure.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.

I have just recently bought an I-Pod Video 30GB and I am now looking at purchasing a case for it and also an armband etc so that I can use it whilst training in the gym, anyone got any ideas?

I bought an iSkin set that came in a pack of three. Altough it says that it's for the 60GB pod, it fits my 30GB. I like it very much. It's made of rubber and most importantly comes with a screen protector that is removeable. I bought this one because I couldn't find any other case that had a screen protector. I think it cost $29.99. You can purchase it at the Apple Store.

Yes be smart by mentioning that you seal music via p2p software. But also realize that the only format that you can use to sync videos to the ipod is specified on the technical specs of the 5g ipod here:
"H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats"
Those are the only video formats supported by the 5g ipod.

Elgato provides a download link to their latest Video Capture software v1.1.5. Supposedly runs on Snow Leopard and later. They recommend Yosemite.

Nike + for use with Ipod Video

can i use the nike + with my ipod video. i already have the nike 180 for use with the chip. i bought them because they were great runing shoes and just found out i could put the chip in them for $35. i have a video but not a nano aand i would really like to use the chip to track my progress. buying a nano would cost 200+ and i was just wondering if i can use it with my video. thanks

The Nike+iPod product is for the Nano only. Doesn't matter why.
If you know of other products that do the same thing as the Nike+iPod product, and it works for the 5th Gen iPod... then go buy one of those.

That's not exactly what was said. The user who posted that indicated that Apple is only promoting the use of the Nike+iPod in conjuntion with the Nano.
Well, obviously, there isn't any harm for people to excersise with this product if there are accessories for that purpose.
Doesn't change the fact that the Nike+iPod product is for the Nano only.

Seems as thou I am having similar problems as other clients are having with movies. My computer guy asked me to ask you this question in the subject line. I have no idea what this means. I sent him a video, he has sound but no video, and he has tried multiple applications, but the results are the same. No video. So, I am suppose to ask the author to send you an exported version using H.264 video codec???? Please help get this resolved!

Using Line6 Pod XT Live for a floor controller

Hi guys.
I'm new to Mainstage, and I guess you can say I'm new to MIDI. I've successfully avoided it since 1991....Until now.
I want to use my PodXT Live to control Mainstage (MS) for live guitar, and I'm having problems.
No matter what I "teach" MS to do when I punch one of the A,B,C,D pedals (which usually selects a new patch on the XT), the result is the same in MS Perform mode. They only select the same 4 tones. But it looks like they don't send unique signals. Each button looks like it sends 1 7 127.
Next problem. Bank up and Bank Down don't seem to send any MIDI signal, which is surprising.
Next problem. Sometimes, the Amp Tone Controls (knobs on the top of the XT) will send MIDI, and sometimes they won't. That confuses me.
I realize I'm missing some fundamentals, but can someone out there at least point me in the right direction?

The POD XT Live sends the midi program change data after you press the A, B, C, or D button. So do your bank select first, then press A, B, C, or D. You should be able to access 128 tones (0 - 127). I suggest you use some midi monitor software (like Midi Monitor) to see what is being sent, while you play with the footswitches. Also, refer to Appendix B of your POD manual --- it lists all of the midi stuff that the POD will send or receive. Happy tap dancing.

There's no change if I hold command-R to boot into recovery. The mac chimes on powerup but nothing else seems to happen.
The machine has an SSD drive in it so I can't even listen to hear if it is loading anything or acting differently when I try different keypresses.
As I had some spare RAM lying around, I've tried swapping that in but no change there either. I still suspect it's a software rather than hardware problem, but without any way to control the boot up, I'm not sure how I can fix it.
I do have remote time machine backups - is there any way of restoring these manually, perhaps by removing the drive from the mac and copying the backup data over using another system? (Unfortunately I don't have any other mac systems to experiment with this, though)
