Using iCloud for syncing Firefox settings

Hi Community,
is it possible to sync a Firefox profile on a couple of Mac's using Apples iCloud? At least the dictionary would be a great idea, because I'm writing a lot of blog and wiki articel's and the dictionary becomes more and more customized but in fact I'm using three different Mac's and of course three different dictionaries. It would be great to use one central dictionary. And last but not least there is a major problem with my MacBook, because this is not always connected to the Internet, so here I would need additionally a technique to use this offline as well.
Is this practicable with Apple's iCloud?

Is anyone else having problems syncing an external calendar app (Easy Calendar) with iCal using iCloud for syncing?

Prior to upgrading to Mavericks, I would use iTunes to sync my two calendar apps--Easy Calendar (from the app store) and the native iCal and of course, I would wind up with the same calendar events on both calendars after syncing. At this point, I'm thoroughly confused about where I can go to find/see a backup of my non-iCal calendar app that's on my iPhone. I, too, had long waiting times. Here's what worked for me.
As I went through some of my Pages and Numbers documents, I got warnings that there were sync discrepancies (differing versions in iCloud and on my iPads and laptop). So, I removed everything from iCloud Drive using my laptop (saved to local folder). I let my iPads sync so they removed all the iCloud-based documents. On the laptop I went through and forced everything to the latest file format (latest Pages and Numbers on Yosemite) by re-saving, then copied everything back into iCloud Drive. My iPads both updated within seconds and everything now syncs quickly.
Don't know if eliminating sync discrepancies is the solution, but it seems to have worked in my case. Hope it might help others.

On settings if you activate use iCloud for Pages, then when you try to open Pages (on both iphone 5 and iPad3) the program quits instantly.

Pages does not work properly if you choose to use ICloud in Settings in both the iphone 5 and Ipad 3. In fact when you click open, Pages opens momentarily and then Quits. If you de-activate use ICloud for pages in Settings then the program works but you cannot access icloud.

Thanks David for your suggestion. However I tried this before I submitted my problem but to no avail. I think the problem could be in iCloud interface with Pages! Hope apple would look into this soon!

On his phone, sign in Settings>iCloud and enable Mail so that he can have his own email address. Then add your account in Settings>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and enable Contacts and Calendars. They will then appear on his phone alongside any syncing he has set up. This will keep your emails separate, or you can add Mail as well so that you can both access that if you want. You can add his account in the same way on your phone and enable any data types you want to sync.

On the iPod turn off iCloud for calender, contacts and other things (Settings>iCloud) and turn off automatic downloading for apps and books (Settings>Store).
Aldso go to Settings Messages and Facetime and add her own email calling/messaging address and delete the Apple ID calling/messaging address.

I can sync my pictures using icloud on my iPhone and my iPad however when I try to do the same for contacts having no luck. Also when I type a callander event on my iPad it comes up on my phone however when I type entry on iPad on calendar it does not come up on my phone.. Can anyone help.

Yes I agree with iamjeremie above. I am a newbie and had some trouble with this myself over last few days but now sorted.
You can also select existing cal entries, edit them and change calendar to correct one (iCloud cal in your case). Yes you need to set iCloud cal as default in settings. Also it may be worth disabling other unused or unwanted calendars in other accounts if you only want to use iCloud. Make sure to accept the prompt and save existing entries to device when disabling accounts so you do not loose or switch off your existing entries. Less confusing that way. Remember you can change entries to another cal in the future if you wish.
Keep it simple. I now have 2 calendars set up on iPhone and one on iPad.
Exchange cal for work. On exchange server at work and work stuff syncs with windows PC and server at work.
Hotmail cal for personal stuff that syncs with work iPhone, home PC and personal iPad.
I would have used iCloud for all but work iPhone and personal iPad are on separate iCloud accounts.
This was a work around and works great for me and enables me to enter synced personal cal entries on my work iPhone.

great tool, yes, though does seem to have conflicts with the iCloud sync app (IE8 xmark sync app and icloud). My sync of xmarks into IE8 stoppped working since I installed the iCloud sync tool on my Win7 system.

I have a password manager app on both my iPhone 4S and iPad2. According to the description in the App Store and the About/Settings/Help section of the app, I can use iCloud to sync between the two, meaning that what I put on one will show up on the other as long as my log-in code is the same for both (it is). However, this has yet to happen. I have added a few passwords to my iPad and they're not on my iPhone. I've even turned on Documents and Data in the iCloud section of Settings. Is there anything else I can do to make this work or is the claim a lie?

You may have to go into the settings within the app itself to enable iCloud syncing. If that's not it, you'll probably have to ask the app developer what the issue is.

What is Lightroom Mobile using iCloud for?

I was getting messages that my iPhone couldn't back up to iCloud because I had run out of space, and found that Lightroom Mobile was using 7.1G of space. I was under the impression that LRm used Adobe CC for all it's syncing, and I'm wondering what it's using iCloud for (and if it's safe to delete it through Settings -> iCloud -> Storage and Backup -> Manage Storage)?

What do you mean by "apple ID"? There's an ID you can use at the iTunes store to buy songs, apps, etc. there's an ID you can use for your iCloud account - the two can be different or the same. So which service are you referring to when you talk about an apple ID?

If I understand you correctly, you want to limit to limit your use of the Messages application to non-iCloud sources such as text messaging through your phone carrier, is that right?
You can turn off the use of iMessages in Settings > Messages > iMessage. See this help article -

No, it is not a backup method at all. If you delete a sync'd file on any device, you delete it permanently from iCloud. That by its very essence is not a backup solution therefore. A backup solution does not automatically and simultaneiously delete the file everywhere when it is deleted from the original source.
iCloud is strictly a syncronization tool for using files on multiple internet connected devices.

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I believe to use iCloud you need to run at least Lion (10.7). (Only the Find My iPhone or Find My Mac parts of iCloud work with OS earlier than 10.7/Lion).
I think you can run Lion but you should check each of the following:

You have a Core 2 Duo. You can upgrade to 10.6 and then install Lion, or use the thumb drive approach mentioned above (thumb drive Lion costs about $70 I think). You need to check your RAM to see if you have enough.
Folks have reported that 4 GB RAM is really a minimum for a decent experience with Lion.
For Mountain Lion, see this ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5444 ) for what you need to have to install OS 10.8. I don't think you can use Mountain Lion (10.8) with your early 2008 Macbook.
