Using IDVD can I make a playable video DVD then add a folder of jpeg photos on the same Disc?
I'm able to make DVDs from iPhoto or IMovie & I've mastered IDVD's Menus pretty well. The DVDs play ok in DVD players to that's a plus. Now, what I want to do is somehow put folders of photos .... mainly those I've used in the slideshows...... if possible, on the same DVD. The idea is I can gift a DVD with a video/slideshow & if the recipient wants the photos they can insert DVD disc into their own computer (not necessarily Apple) & download the photos. Can this be done?

Using InDesign CS6, why does a drop shadow applied to a text box, cause a photo on the same page to
I thought it was just a screen appearance so I made a pdf and the photo is lighter here too. I've never had this issue with CS5.5 or earlier. Drop shadows were able to be applied to one object without affecting others on the page. Is it a bug? Is there a setting I'm missing? Thanks!
Overprint preview didn't stop the lightening of the photo.
A google search turned up the suggestion to change the transparency blend space to RGB, which worked in InDesign. When I make the pdf (no color conversion) it looks ok. But when turning on Output Preview in Acrobat, the photo lightens again. Weird and frustrating - I'm not sure what the final output will look like.
Is Transparency Flattener set at High res an option?

If you're referring to FaceTime, it is currently limited to Wi-Fi only.
Sending files via Bluetooth is not a supported feature of the iPhone or iOS. A simple search of the web or these forums would have made that abundantly clear.

When not using EJBs can I make BD a Singleton and cache facade instances?

In an application which does not use EJBs can I make BD(Business Delegate) a singleton?
I was very sure about doing this but when I tried Google on the same subject the answers were'nt supportive of this but that was in the context of applications which used EJBs. And also item 4 in Effective Java isnt very supportive of caching Objects at the drop of a hat.
When not using EJBs would it be an unnecessary thing to make BD a singleton and cahce Facade instances in a BD and DAO instances in a Facade? I am planning to use a array based blocking bounded buffer for the purposes of caching. Or would it be better to make both BD and a facade as SIngletons and just cache DAOs in a Facade?
Any suggestion would be of good help to me.

Since the BD is a singleton multiple threads can pass messages to it simulteanously, a bit like an object of the Action class in Struts. Since I dont see having any synchronized methods in a BD requests will be handled simulteanously.

You can activate iMessage on the old one so it can get your iMessages. The old phone will NOT recieve SMS/MMS messages sent to your number.

I mean how do I know whether my disk drive can write/burn DVD ?

ThanksAssuming your mac has at least 25 GB's of available hard drive space on the boot volume and an S-Drive as opposed to a combo drive; the latter only reads dvd's while the former both reads and writes to dvd, then you should be able to, yes.
But follow the iMovie> iDvd Tutorial/s first.

I woud like to watch my videos on my Ipad with out loading it on to the Ipad. I can plug my camera directly into my tv and watch, I would like to do the same with my Ipad.
Import the videos into iTunes on your computer and use Home Sharing to stream the videos to the iPad. These should get you started.

Everyting was perfect earlier. Used to convert all my videos into iPhone mp4 format using Any Video Converter - then add it to my iPhone 3GS. But last few days, I cant add video files to iTunes. and the iTunes doesnt even specify the reason except for that "files are not supported"
Everything is fine.

-Quicktime is updated
-I have tried simply dragging them into the 'movie' library
-I have tried going to file<add file to library

Any and all help appreciated.In addition to Mike's suggestions, you only have 4GB of RAM and Mavericks does use more RAM than other versions. You may also want to look at the apps that startup on login and the possiblity of upgrading RAM.

Can you make a backup on DVD of OS X 10.5.8?
After spending an hour+ on the phone with support.... I was told I can put Leopard 10.5.8 on my "new to me" G5 desktop, but I'd have to find a 3rd party... blah blah to download. After hanging up, I go to talk to husband and find his laptop has 10.5.8. Can we copy this onto a DVD, then install it on mine? If so, how would we do that?????????? This old woman is seriously aggravated.
Two options:
Boot your computer into Target Disk Mode and connect it to his computer using a Firewire cable. Boot his computer normally. You should find a disk icon on his Desktop for the hard drive in your computer. Use Disk Utility to clone his hard drive to yours using the Restore option of DU.
Get an external Firewire drive, clone his drive to the external drive. Boot your computer from the external drive then use Disk Utility to clone the external drive to your computer's hard drive.
