Using iGPU and Quick Sync on Core i5-2500K with Premiere Elements

Hi,
I've downloaded the prototype plugin from Intel for Premiere Elements to make use of the iGPU built into the new 2500K Intel chip and has successfully following the install instructions.
http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/adobe-premiere-propremiere-elements-encoder-plug- in-using-intel-media-sdk-and-intel-quick-sync-video-technology/
The problem is, I don't know how to prove that it is working - i.e. how do I show that quick sync is working?
Sorry if it's a stoooopid question.
Daran.

From the description on the page you linked to you select the plug-in as an encoder when Sharing. If you select it and successfully create a Share then it must be working.
For Adobe Premiere Elements: The new encoder is exposed
via the "Share" tab, by selecting “Personal Computer” then “Others –
Third Party Plug-ins”. The encoding parameters can be explored and
modified by clicking on the “Advanced…” button. After installing the
plug-in (see below) only one encoder preset is available. The user can
create their own presets by modifying default preset and then saving new
preset.
Cheers,
Neale

  • Can I import a movie from a DVR and save to hard drive on computer with Premiere Elements?

Changing providers and want to salvage recordings from old DVR.
Also, If I can salvage the recordings, can I copy back to a new DVR?
I've got Premiere Elements 9 and haven't used in a long time.

Probably not... most DVR makers code to the hard drive in a proprietary format that will not work in any other DVR
You may be able to PLAY the video out to an external recording device, such as a VCR or a DVD recorder
Or, for a computer, you may be able to use a converter such as at http://www.grassvalley.com/products/converters

The "link related" and "text related" crashes were what I interpretted here, too, though I'm at a loss on how to proceed given that this is a fresh system and applications.  This is happening with multiple InDesign projects in a design office environment where many others work on the same files and none of the other computers are having problems with these files.  I've removed the same files listed (thank you for those) before and did so effectively with creating the new user account to test with, but it had no effect.  I just tried again though, as these files could easily have becone corrupt again if they were being written to when InDesign crashed.  Will let you know if that makes any difference.  I've also gone through and completely cleaned out the fonts again and once more cleared the font caches.  If need be I'll reboot this system into safe mode and try that way.
    Best,
    Mike

  • With Premiere elements 11, when Publish/Share (saving) a finished video, selecting H.264  .mov file type, what are the recommended Codec and Aspect settings for a crisp video and a small file size?

With Premiere Elements 11, when Publish/Share (saving) a finished video, selecting H.264  .mov file type, what are the recommended Aspect and Codec settings , for a crisp video with a small file size?

We will customize a very detailed reply, but
    (a) What are the properties of your source media?
    (b) What did you or the program set as the project preset to match the properties of the source media?
    (c) What specific requirements do you have for this H.264.mov export file?
File size can be a compromise between bitrate, file size, and quality.
    Thanks.

  • IPod Touch upgrade to use iMessage and it syncs with Dad's iPhone info!!! Using family pack Mobile Me. HELP???

I have three children that use iPod Touches. They are all iOS5 capable. I upgraded the first one this morning and it synced with my iPhone profile on iCloud. It asked for the iTunes account information which is what I believe caused this. We use Mobile Me Family Pack and each of the children have a unique @me.com account. How do I fix this problem so that each iPod has it's own unique login so that iMessage will work? I don't really want to open them up to any further exposure  on the Web though... . As it stands I am able "micromanage" their contact list via Mobile Me. Is there any way to make the iPods behave correctly and still maintain parental control as well as allow them to keep their unique profiles and contact lists???
...and for some reason, after upgrading my son's iPod Touch... his apps all disappeared from the device??? Strange, as this worked perfectly when I upgraded my iPhone yesterday.
PS. All my upgrades are current. iOS5 on iPhone 4, iTunes 10.5 on MBP.

I spent about 2 hours on the phone with Apple Support... had to restore both devices! Arrrgggghhh!!! Thankfully the iPhone had a Backup from yesterday. The iPod wasn't too tough to get back up and running either... although we had to completely reload it as if it were new. Then we found out that Apple won't let the device login with my son's @me.com email because he's too young (10). Quick work-around for now until Apple fixes this was to lie about his age in the setup. I don't like the work around, but it worked.

  • Using Sony High Definition Camcorder with Premiere Elements

My computer is a HP Pavilion Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 CPU, [email protected] GHZ, 1.59 GHz, 1.99GB of Ram. It is used solely for music(SONAR and Band in a Box) and photo/video(Adobe Premiere) software and never used online. My computer says that in my C drive I have 159GB of free space, total 224GB. In my D drive I have 376MB free space, total 8.63GB.
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0, plus Adobe Premiere Elements for Windows XP. (Old versions, I know)
Up until now I've transfered and edited what I've filmed and created productions with no problem what-so-ever in Adobe Premiere Elements using my Panasonic MiniDV camcorder. I now have the Sony HD (high definition)Handycam HDR SR11 and it's much more complicated to get my recorded images transfered to my Adobe software.
I can't figure out how to capture from the camcorder directly into Adobe Premiere Elements? I'm having to transfer it to my computer hard drive first and then add the media to Adobe Premiere. I have to record in SD (standard definition) to even do that.
Also, I can't figure out why the images once tranfered into Adobe Premiere Elements, are playing back misshaped (subjects are either elongated or short and chunky)?
    Am I doing something wrong?
Doesn't my version of Adobe Premiere Elements work with this particular camcorder?
Is it just a matter of upgrading to a newer Premiere for high definition/standard definition camcorders to work? If so, which one?
    Thanks for any help!
    Carolyn

As stated by Peter use AVCHD Upshift from VASST or upgrade to PE7.
Also you need to set up your hard drives properly.
The best way is to have 2 seperate hard drives. One small one for the OS and all your other programms and another large one for all your work. Hard drives are never to be partitioned. This slows down the workflow.

  • Best screen capture for using with premiere elements?

i have been scouring the net to figure out how to get better results than what i'm getting with the camstudio (love the program, and it looks great until i pull it into premiere). I have read that it can be a codec issue or an fps issue, but before i follow those trails, i was wondering if there is a screen capture software that works well with premiere, without a lot of hassle. (not necessarily free, just reliable and hassle free with good quality in premiere elements) Anyone have experience with this?
    thanks in advance!

Well, we've used Camtasia and Adobe's Captivate to make tutorials for http://www.muvipix.com. They're both excellent, and I've never had a problem with either.
Chuck Engels is really the expert on both those program though. You can find him on the Muvipix forum daily.
    Steve.
Would you please provide an update to the process of screen capture?  What does muvipix.com and lynda.com use?  I'm considering a project where my granddaughters create a couple of training videos for kids.  It's a dream, but might work!

  • Soundbooth -- Use with Premiere Elements 4?

I tried Premiere CS3, but decided on Elements 4 for ease of use and price. So far it seems to be a fine product but the limited audio editing capabilities led me, on advice from my son, to try Soundbooth.
So far, Soundbooth has done an excellent job on everything I've tried it on....except for editing Premiere Elements files. I was able to export an audio clip and open it in Soundbooth, but haven't been able to find an easier way to combine the two.
It would seem that Soundbooth would be a natural value-added product for customers buying the Premiere/Photoshop packages...if there were a more convenient way to use it.
Is there a way I've missed, or is there any chance some kind of bridge routine is in the offing?
    Thanks for any info.
    Bill

The easiest way is to use Share/My Computer/AVI to output your slideshow as an AVI.
Then open a new project (DV settings), import the AVI into and it place it on the timline. Right-click on the clip and select Time Stretch to lengthen or shorten the slideshow as needed.

  • Cannot import .MOV files with Premiere Elements 12: generic error. Using Windows 8.1 (64b)

This question was already on the forum for older version of Premiere and Windows. I'm making my videos (.MOV format) with the digital camera Casio EX-ZR400.
I have no any problems with Photoshop Elements 12 for pictures produced by this camera.

What is the source of your .mov file..(brand/model/settings of the camera that recorded the video)......what is the video and audio compression and frame rate?
Are you working with the 12.1 Update of 12? If not, please do so using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. Both QuickTime and Premiere Elements need to be run from a User Account with Administrative Privileges. Are you doing that?
    Narrowing things down
Are all files with the .mov file extensions the only video files that you cannot import into the program? Any exceptions?
When you open Premiere Elements 12/12.1 to the Expert workspace and go to Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime, does that choice have its presets?
Let us start here and decide what next based on your reply.
    Thank you.

  • How to record screen shots for use with Premiere Elements...

I am putting together a tutorial on how to navigate and use my company's web-site. How do I video record my navigation of the website for import into Premiere Elements? I am thinking it is something easy I am missing. Do I simply shoot a video of my computer screen as I am navigating the site, or can my computer record in video format what I am doing on the screen? I am using Vista on a Toshiba laptop.

It's been a while but, in the past, I've used both the free 'CamStudio' and 'Wink' software (I think I found Wink the better of the two).
Adobe also selll their own video capture software 'Captivate'.
Or here's a whole page of video capture software: http://capture.software.informer.com/download-capture-video-and-record-screen-action-in-av i/.

I bought a hp d3000 and can'nt download to preiere elements 11. need help!

As for the video specifications for your HP D3000. From what I read, you are either shooting 1280 x 720 at 30 frames per second or 640 x 480 at 30 frames per second. And, your video is MotionJPEG.avi. Can you confirm that?
    http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/hewlett-packard-hp-16-1mp-21x-optical-zoom-digital- camera-d3000-black-hpd3000/10239990.aspx
If you are shooting 1280 x 720 at 30 frames per second, I would suggest the following, whichever works:
    a. transfer the video from the camera to a computer hard drive save location.
    b. Open Premiere Elements 11, go to File Menu/New/Project and in the new project dialog set the project preset YOURSELF to NTSC HDV HDV 720p30, making sure that you place a check mark next to "Force selected Project Setting for this project". Then via ADD MEDIA, Files and Folders, browse to an bring your MotionJPEG.avi into the project (Project Assets).
    or
    a. if doable, attach at USB cable from your camera's USB 2.0 port (it has one according to what I read online) to the computer USB 2.0 or 3.0 port
    b. then open a Premiere Elements 11 new project - File Menu/New/Project and in the new project dialog set the project preset YOURSELF to NTSC HDV HDV 720p30, making sure that you place a check mark next to "Force selected Project Setting for this project". Then via ADD MEDIA, "Vidoes from Flip or Camera"/Video Importer and its Advanced Dialog bring your video into the project.
In these cases the project preset will match your source media (no black borders in the monitor space when you edit). If the program has a problem selecting the project preset, as it wants to do, you will probably end up with the default 1080i30 instead of 720p30 unless you step in and do this project preset setting yourself.
Please review and let us know the outcome.
    Thanks.

To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions
