I would like to be able to save my Indesign documents to iCloud. How is that done?

What version of Reader are they using, exactly? And are you sure they're
using Reader itself and not opening the file inside a browser window, for
example?

How to open illustrator file (.ai) using Indesign and save it as XML

I know how to open a Illustrator file (.ai) in Indesign.
It would be like :
1 ) Save your Illustrator file as AI. This Native format is most compatible with InDesign.
2 ) Go to -> InDesign, click on your document using your Frame Rectangle tool (the one with the X through it).
3 ) Fill in the desired size (can be adjusted later).
5 ) Go to File menu > Place.
6 ) Find and select the Illustrator file in the window that opens.
7 ) Click the Open button.
Adjust size, & position of your image using the Direct Selection tool (white arrow), and the cropping with the Seclection tool (black arrow.
Now I want to save this file as XML.
After that, I say
1 ) File -> Export
But this file saves as XML only shows he the root element nothing else.
Every time , this shows like
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<Root></Root>
Nothing is there as contents.
Can anyone let me know, is it possible to store .AI file as XML.
My requirement is simple, i want to store the .ai file as XML.
Some how I am using Indesign to do so . Can any body help.

Copy and paste is again seems same as 'Place the file' , it wouldn't help again.
Copy( from Illustrator) and paste( it in Indesign) and later saving\exporting as XML again create the same the XML file with no data . Just a XML structure,

RRegarding using the FXG and SVG file .. saving these formats to XML does not shows the Co-ordinates in XML formats.
I do I would like to have the coordinates (x,y) so that later on , if required I can change the coordinates and display the Image or Text in the file. As this is a requirement for business card.

Using iPhoto and iCloud

i have 9.4.3 iphoto and a Mac OSX 10.8.3
first I lost my photo library. I found 1000 pics in web stream. They seem to be in i cloud-stored.
I use pixelmator and now everytime I try to edit-it goes to i cloud.
This all began yesterday.
Larry suggested that I go to launch iphoto and depress the hold option key.
When I do this the i cons shake and x's appear in the corner of iphoto, movie, garage band and one more.
What is going on.
If I continue to edit my photos which I need to do daily, how is icloud going to affect me.
icloud seems to have hi jacked me

My iTunes is creating duplicates of playlists and hanging up. running latest version of lion, and iTunes using match and iCloud. please help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. deleted all library files and is doing same thing.

I am runing lion and latest version of itunes. I have match on, home sharing on and using icloud. my itunes started hanging up and required me to force quit. then upon restart of itunes and restart of computer itunes would take upwards of 15 minutes to open and was using >90% of CPU and would be lagging in response if responding at all one of the playlists I had created on my ipad had over a hundred copies of the same playlist. after repeated restarts I uninstaled itunes and reinstalled. this didnt rectify the problem. I assumed library file had somehow become corrupt so I deleted library files, reimported all my music and synced with genius and match. and let the computer go over night. when I woke in morning all my music was back but I had all the extra playlists again and itunes is hogging all the cpu and was minimally responsive and hanging up after each click.
I thought this might be a virus or something but installed ESET cypersecurity did a complet scan with no threats found. I am at a total loss and do not know where to go from here. I hope one of you can assist. Thanks!

I had this exact issue. Spent over an hour on the phone with apple support, they couldn't resolve. Here is what I ended up doing, that worked.
1. Turned iTunes match off on all my iOS devices
2. Deleted the offending playlists from the iOS device they originated on
3. Started iTunes, let it run (literally) for an hour before it became responsive. First thing I did, before clicking anywere else was disable iTunes match. If I clicked anywhere, it would clock for another hour.
4. Let iTunes run overnight, by morning it had cleaned out the repeating play lists. This got my Mac/iTunes back to an operable state.
5. Restore iPhones from backup in iTunes.
What was causing my issue was a single playlist that was created on an iPhone, then suddenly showed up with several thousand duplicates on my other iPhone. The culprit playlist did not, for some reason, duplicate itself on my two iPads. Apple support seemed to think it was because the problem iPhone tried to sync the playlist to iCloud over and over again unsuccessfully, then it finally went through and populated the thousands of blank/failed playlists which then tried to propigate to iTunes and my other iOS devices. Seems like a reasonable theory.
I have not yet re-enabled iTunes match. So, no idea what will happen if I decide to go back down that rabbit hole.

Hello! So I own the iPhone 4, and its hooked up to my moms mac, but now I have my own! And id like to be able to use iTunes and iCloud etc on my own computer instead of hers, without her being able to see all my pictures from my phone etc. thanks

So my mom got a mac book a while back, and when I purchased my iphone 4 a few years ago I "synched" It to my moms computer, it was perfect I could download songs, movies, etc.But now i have my own laptop! (Macbook air mini) and ive been wanting to be able to use Icloud etc but I dont know how, being that my phone is hooked up to mine AND my moms computer. Not that i have anything to hide but Id rather not have my pictures from my phone be sent to her computer!! Also, when i buy music on my phone, and then go to plug it into my computer it doesnt work/synch! I want to use i cloud too because i dont even have enough storage in my phone to even take a picture! So id like to transfer all my pictures to my computer! Someone please help...thanks.

Good point. Actually, even the wireless sync can cause the problem. "Sync iCal Calendars" in the "Info" tab should be UNCHECKED.

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering, I have a very low monthly bandwith usage on my iPhone but I wish to use the iCloud feature with my Mac Mini. Now my perfect scariano would be for the iCloud to work when at home not outside, but at the same time I wish have the great feaatures of "Find My iPhone" & the option to delete your data if you lose your iPhone.
Is there a way to have iCloud work fully at home (using home wifi) and then still be active outside but not actually using any data and then if I every do lose my phone I can use iCloud it wipe the data?

Which features of iCloud are you concerned about consuming your cellular data? Backup and Photo Stream only use Wi-Fi. You can go to Settings > iCloud > Documents and Data and set that to only use Wi-Fi. You can also go to Settings > Cellular > Use Cellular Data for and turn off cellular data for Contacts for example. In my case I don't see anything related to iCloud using much cellular data although there may be other things that I am not using.

How do you play music from a playlist on an iPhone without using WiFi and iCloud?

I travel in a RV and frequently park in campgrounds that do not have WiFi. I've been told I can copy iTunes playlists (selected from my copied CDs on my Mac) onto my iPhone 5S. I can then, using a mini stereo jack go from the output on the iPhone to the aux input on my DVD player and thereby play my playlists of copied CD music on my RV sound system. All well and good except I tried my Music app on my iPhone and could not find a play function. I found the iTunes Radio but that only seemed to work with a WiFi connection. What am I missing?
As you can tell, I am not experienced with the iPhone although I've used a Mac for years. Is there a basic tutorial on how to accomplish my stated task or at least use the basic music function? I've tried to find something on the Apple website but haven't been able to find anything yet.

Those 2 playlists were a total of 498 songs. I have just been using the default rate when I load a CD and click on import into iTunes. Is there a better way? My second 2 playlists have about 330 songs plus about another 20 I'm going to load today and then stop and see about syncing them on my iPhone as well. I've gotten about half of my CDs imported. This is obviously a do-as-you-get-time task that will take quite a while. Not so much importing the CD, but listening to at least a couple bars of each song to see which I want to put on a playlist.

Since i got an ipad, and subsequently used facetime to someone on it, now all my messages from that person appear on my iphone and also my partners! My partners iphone is synced with my apple id as we share itunes etc, but how can i avoid this happeneing?

They are coming through iMessage. Each phone should have it's own Apple ID. Or you can turn off iMessage.

Help with InDesign and using MacBook Pro with 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB

Have a Mac Book Pro running 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM is there anyway to use InDesign and if so what version would run on this machine and would I still be able to interface with a printer to produce a magazine? Or is it possible to upgrade/gut this machine for a new processor and RAM, if that is even possible, and could I then run a CS program say 5.5?

Thanks for all the help - it is confusing though. I tried to download the trial version of CS5.5 to explore before buying the student version and the program download froze. I have deleted the doadload assistant and spoke with Adobe who told me my machine would not be compatible unless I upgraded - maybe the RAM to 4GB.
You got bad (wrong) advice.
If the download didn't work, it has nothing to do with the performance characteristics of your machine. You could download CS5.5 on a low-end PC from 10 years ago, it doesn't take much.
Unfortunately Adobe's download manager is a bit flakey. Best advice is to use Firefox and try the download again.
It doesn't have anything to do with the power of your computer, be it speed, processor type, or RAM.
Make sure you're using FIrefox (if not, download and install it first), and then try the download again.
Also, the download manager depends on Java. Make sure you have Java installed (but I think you must, because otherwise the download would not have started?).
If it still doesn't work, give us some more detail. Error message? Screenshot?
