Using ios 5.0.1 in an iPhone 4. Can't get the gps to turn off in the Reminder app even though I do not have a location reminder set. Battery life suffers because of it. What can I do other than keep the app turned off all the time in settings?
Installed ios 5 and created a location reminder to see how it worked. The gps icon came on and I expected it would because how else would the phone know where I'm at.
After I was reminded and marked it as complete I also deleted the reminder from the app. The gps never went off and the only way I can get it to turn off is by switching the app off in the location settings.
Installed ios 5.0.1 and the same thing. I turned on the app in the location settings to see what would happen and I was again reminded by location to the same reminder. It said in the alert that the reminded was 28 days old. Like I said I deleted the reminder from the app. Somehow it's still in the apps memory and I have no idea how to get rid of it for good.

When I try to play a movie on Netflix I get an error telling me that Firefox's private browsing mode is restricting Netflix from storing settings on my computer.
The suggests were to click the Tools menu and select private browsing. My private browsing was not activated.
Or to click the Tools menu at the top of the browser and select Options, then Privacy and then Remember history. This setting was also as it should.
Additionally, I went into the history and made sure the permanent private browsing was unchecked and I cleared all cookies. Still Netflix is not working.
I called Netflix and they say that everything is streaming correctly from their end and it is this computer. I can watch Netflix on other computers or my TV on this network but not this computer.
I am at a loss at how to disengage private browsing when the private browsing does not appear to be engaged.I had this problem as well, just right click on the error, and click Silverlight, go to the Application Storage tab, and check enable application storage located on the bottom left corner. Your movies should play after that. If that doesn't work uninstall then reinstall Silverlight, make FF remember history and make sure application storage is enabled on Silverlight.

I restored my settings my I got the new phone but I think I heard that with the iOS 6 updated that can be an issue and it is better to start from scratch rather than restore your settings.reset all settings

if issue persists backup info and restore via itunes

I've got to agree with Allan. It sounds like the hard drive is corrupt at least. It's possible it might be physically failing. Without backups, it's possible your data is already gone. You need a professional to help you.
If you do not have an Apple Store near you or simply don't have the time to spare, there are some things you can try, but you must understand that it's possible these things could make the chances of recovering your data worse than they already are. Perform the instructions to follow at your own risk!
First, you can try repairing your hard drive with Disk Utility. If that works, see if you can start up the machine. If you can, the very first thing you need to do is back up any data you don't want to lose. You may still need to take other steps, as your system may be damaged as well, but getting the data is the important part.
If Disk Utility cannot repair the problems, you can try DiskWarrior. It can repair problems that Disk Utility cannot. However, it also increases the risk of destroying your data if it fails. If it works and you can start up the machine, do the same as I advised for following success with Disk Utility.
If repairs (with either) were successful, but the machine still won't start up, you can try reinstalling the system. Hold down command-R at startup and then just install right on top of the existing system. If all goes well, you'll be able to start up afterwards and can get your data backed up. If all goes badly, it'll further decrease the chances of getting your data back.
If neither can repair the damage, you're in bad shape. You will need a professional to help you, unless you are willing to lose all your data. -

I did buy a camera app one day last week only to find I could not use it. There's a couple of things you could try:
*Try disabling all your your themes, add-ons and plug-ins that are not RealPlayer specific to see if that solves the problem. Do this in [[Safe Mode]]. If doing this gets RealPlayer to work with Firefox, then one of your themes, add-ons or plug-ins (or a combination of two or more of them) are conflicting with the RealPlayer functionality. <br /><br />
*If you can use RealPlayer in Firefox successfully with a new (unenhanced) profile, or in your standard profile with all themes, add-ons and plug-ins disabled, then try enabling them, one a a time, and restarting the browser after each to test each one sequentially. You should be able to narrow down which one or combination is causing the problem that way.
*If you cannot use RealPlayer in Firefox with a new and unenhanced profile, or with all themes, add-ons and plug-ins disabled, then the issue may be that the RealPlayer product simply does not function as intended. The fact that RealPlayer support has a support page dedicated to the problem seems to indicate the problem is on their end, rather than with Firefox. -

My iPhone V will not connect to a Microsoft Exchange server. It says that the User Name or Password are incorrect even though they're not and I can log on directly to Exchange with the same parameters using the web browser.
I bought the phone when it came out last October. The connection did not work at first, then started without warning in December. It worked perfectly for 2 months then stopped again when IOS 6.1.2 was Installed.
Help please!I have forwarded these questions about the version of Exchange server that is being used and whether Microsoft host the mai themselves to the IT Dept but I will not get a reply from them until tomorrow.
In the meantime I have also tried:
Deleting and re-creating the account AGAIN!
And re-setting the phone (recommended as a solution to a similar problem with an iPad in another forum.
But please remember that:
The phone would not connect for 2 months after I bought it
Then started working unexpectedly in December
Then stopped working again when IOS 6.1.2. was installed
Also why am I the only person affected by this when colleagues with iPhone 3s and 4s who use the same mail system are not (I am still trying to find one with an iPhone V to see if their's works).
Like I said I think that there must be a fault, either with my own phone or with iPhone Vs in general. -

My iphone 4s keeps overheating and will not let me go on any of my apps as well as send any messages. plus my contract isn't up for another 6 months, what can i do?
RESOLVED!!! I logged on to my Straight Talk online account, and did a Tech Chat. They immediately gave me a direct phone number and a Reference PIN number and asked me to contact their iPhone specialty support. I called (of course the gentleman's accent was very difficult for me to understand, but managed with asking continually for clarity). He walked me through several tests, setting changes and had me get on my wifi to obtain the latest APN settings. None of his efforts worked ad it was obviously NOT my Straight Talk iPhone 5, 64GB CDMA (no SIM) - it was something with their setting on their end on my account. I was placed on hold a few times and he would come back on to have me try to get on Safari and even Google... after the 3rd on-hold, he returned and asked me to try to use my data again without the wifi turned on and BINGO it worked... I still do not have my wifi turned on and I'm still receiving texts from YESTERDAY too while I was away from wifi service. IF you come across this issue - please call Straight Talk and/or log on to your Straight Talk online account and talk to an online customer service representative and get their direct line phone number for iPhone support and have your Reference PIN number available. They can share an Apple ID, but each device must use a different email address when setting up FaceTime. Create a gmail email (or hotmail, or ...) address and use that on one of the devices when you setup FaceTime.
You don't actually have to use the 'new' email address, it is probably just used as an index to reference the correct device when initiating a call via the FaceTime server. -
Many Apps nwhen it comes time to print from my Ipad2 search foor an airprint printer but i only have an HP wireless printer and they don't find it what can I do to use the HP wireless printer in these apps????

Thanks for the post. I'm not sure which model printer that you have but you should be able to print from your iPad 2 with the HP Home and Biz application.
