it might be worth checking your TV settings to see if it has an option for different settings based on whether using the tv speakers or headphones.
Normally you should be able to control the sound via the tv.
Have you tried it without the headphones?

You're not asking any question so I'll just ramble.
You may have permanently damaged your iPad. The iPad controls the current coming from the charger but the charger electronics must be capable of responding to the iPad. Charge with a known good charger and then test your iPad. If it's OK, you lucked out. Otherwise... If the charger was not an Apple charger, you're completely out of luck. If it was an Apple charger, call Apple and discuss the issue with them.

My ipod app on my iphone 4 will not let me listen to music through the headphones it came with.

It is quite annoying. I plug in my headphones that came with the phone into the jack and I can hear the instrumental music just fine but the voices sound like they are very far away. I have had my phone for two months and it has been doing it since I got the phone. I tried different headphones thinking that was the issue but it wasn't. Someone within your school - or district - is the focal point for IT, and that person needs to be made aware of the situation. Whether the school can perform repairs on its own, has a third-party to do so, or returns the device to Apple for repair or replacement, you need to notify the person responsible. Too, before any sort of repair is considered, you should back up all data.

I set up a second Apple TV in our bedroom and wanted to be able to control it using my iPhone like I do with the Apple TV in the living room. I have a new iPhone 4 and tried to use the Remote App in Connection with Apple TV. While I'am able to pair the remote app with Apple TV, I cannot use it properly. It works for a while, then it get's disconnected with a message that maybe a Firewall might be activated in the Router.
I have no problems with Remote App connected to my iTunes Library. I also tried it with a iPod Touch which is still on iOS 3.1.3, no problems to connect to the Apple TV from there as well.
Are there any known problems with iOS 4 and Apple TV?

May I ask what wifi hardware you use? It might be an wifi issue, but one which is only related with the "Bonjour" protocol which seems to be used for the Remote App. I found this thread which is older (iOS 3) but describing exactly the same problems:

bear in mind that the iphone4 is now "n" wifi compatible (2.4Ghz), so could it be that the "n" part of your network is poor and thus why you only see the problem on the iphone4 ?
At least it is not poor when using it from other devices or moving a lot of data in other Apps. It is all Apple Hardware (nothing older than 2 years), and maybe that's the problem. I never had network hardware which made so much trouble, as Apples Airport series. I wouldn't wonder if it is an incompatibility between a new wifi chip in the iPhone 4 and a older Revision of an Airport device. But I don't know how to check - is there a system.log on the iPhone which I can access somehow?

Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.

We intendend the employee to be able to install their own content on the device using their own itunes account. When I attempted to connected to a pc using a personal account my the content obtained by the company account was prompted to be removed. Was this done incorrectly? Is there a way I can set up company ipads with preloaded apps and files so that they don't get removed when the user connects them to another computer with another itunes account?
Right now we are looking to have the employee use their own itunes account and reimburse the expense for the needed apps, but this could be an issue if they leave the company and the device is reassigned.

Yes this is possible. I've been using Apple Configurator to do this (you could also use iTunes to restore backups). The trick is, you need to tell the end user not to sync apps within his/her iTunes on his/her computer. You will need to instruct the end user to download apps OTA using the App Store on the iPad rather than with iTunes on his/her computer. If the user tries to sync apps on his/her computer, it will wipe out apps that you installed. However if the user downloads apps OTA, your apps and the user downloaded apps will both stay on the iPad.
When you hand the iPad to the user, be sure to log out of your company Apple ID on the iPad at Settings -> Store and have them sign in with their personal Apple ID. That way it is all set for them to download apps under their own Apple ID.

There is nothing you can do to enable that.

Sort order in iPad's Remote app

I have a few smart playlists in iTunes. When I control iTunes from my iPad's Remote app, some playlists show up (correctly) ordered by Album, other smart playlists are ordered by song. In iTunes (on my MacPro), though, both are ordered by album. Is there a way to control sort order in the Remote app's window?

I have the same problem. I converted my ipad incompatible videos - shot with my digital camera - to work with the iPad and got 2 identical event folders on my iPad with the same name.
If I rename the event in iPhoto both events on my iPad are renamed but still split in photos and videos.
Hope this will be fixed soon with an iPhoto or iTunes? update.

The movies do not download onto apple TV it shows them as purchased and you need to stream them down. If you want to show your purchased music on Apple TV you need to sign up for iTunes Match.
There seem to be a few glitches with iTunes Match so i just use the computer icon to listen to music on my computer through Apple TV. If you have your Movies and TV shows on your computer this is where you will find them.
The Movies and TV Shows buttons on the main page of Apple TV show you films and tv shows you have purcahsed or cen rent or purchase.
You can also sync your Photos over as well. Method is slightly different in that in iTunes on the computer
File > HomeSharing > Choose photos to share with Apple TV

Many online media providers block this - Sky and Amazon Prime do too I believe.
I would have to assume that the app providers cannot offer video Airplay for contractual reasons with the movie studios though it may just be they don;t want to enable their apps to do so.
It's not Apple preventing this, while you could see it would be in Apple's interest to push people to the iTunes store for media it could also drive people away.

Best practice when using Tangosol with an app server

I'm wondering what is the best practice when using Tangosol with an app server (Websphere 6.1 in this case). I've been able to set it up using the resource adapter, tried using distributed transactions and it appears to work as expected - I've also been able to see cache data from another app server instance.
However, it appears that cache data vanishes after a while. I've not yet been able to put my finger on when, but garbage collection is a possibility I've come to suspect.
Data in the cache survives the removal of the EJB, but somewhere later down the line it appear to vanish. I'm not aware of any expiry settings for the cache that would explain this (to the best of my understanding the default is "no expiry"), so GC came to mind. Would this be the explanation?
If that would be the explanation, what would be a better way to keep the cache from being subject to GC - to have a "startup class" in the app server that holds on to the cache object, or would there be other ways? Currently the EJB calls getCacheAdapter, so I guess Bad Things may happen when the EJB is removed...

I found the configuration file embedded in coherence.jar. Am I supposed to replace it and re-package coherence.jar?
If I put it elsewhere (in the "classpath") - is there a way I can be sure that it has been found by Coherence (like a message in the standard output stream)? My experience with Websphere is that "classpath" is a rather ...vague concept, we use the J2CA adapter which most probably has a different class loader than the EAR that contains the EJB, and I would rather avoid to do a lot of trial/error corrections to a file just to find that it's not actually been used.
Anyway, at this stage my tests are still focused on distributed transactions/2PC/commit/rollback/recovery, and we're nowhere near 10,000 objects. As a matter of fact, we haven't had more than 1024 objects in these app servers. In the typical scenario where I've seen objects "fade away", there has been only one or two objects in the test data. And they both disappear...
