Using iPhone in work environments where cameras are forbidden
All my colleagues and I have a common problem: We all would like to use iPhones in our Software company but our customers strictly forbid any cameras on their sites, which we visit quite regularly. They fear that someone could make a photo of a product which is not out in the open yet. As funny as this sounds this is a very common restriction in Germany.
Obviously we could use iPod-Touch as a substitute for the PDA functions of iPhone, but that would mean carrying around an iPod and a cell phone all the time.
Some of our customers are said to have contracts with cell phone manufacturers. The security personell offers you to destroy the lens of camera phones, which will be replaced by the manufacture when you don't work there anymore. I never tried that option myself though. I just bought phones without a camera.
I wouldn't consider this because it would void the warranty of the iPhone.
We asked our customers whether they accept some kind of seals over the lens, unfortunately they don't.
I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. Or is it just german companies which are afraid of photos of their products being taken.
Any ideas on how to solve this?

PS: I don't dare to hope that there will be an "enterprise" version of the iPhone without a camera anytime soon. Would be nice though.

I work in the commercial nuclear field and absolutely NO camera phones are allowed, period. This has knocked out many thousands of potential customers that could help drive the mac experience, in a field that has VERY few mac users. This is a real security issue and any field such as mine has the same rules and regulations. I suspect that soon many business will have the same restrictions.
I can use the new ipod but even then sadley I will have to either carrey it and a cheap phone at additional cost or just do what I am doing now and forgo a cell in the plants alltogether. Those with palms ( most dept. buy them ) have no cameras and no issues. If you try to disguise the fact that you have a camera phone it is a career change thing.

A few weeks Search stopped working on existing sites in SPO. New site seem to index fine. We can't find files and list entries inside doc libs and lists now.
I'm looking at Search Settings in o365 and have added myself to have access to Crawl logs,
but where are they in SPO?
We've tried re-indexing sites, but it has not helped.
All search settings are the default, and I don see any exclusion of sites.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to see the crawl log in the SharePoint online.
Per my experience, the users in the security group can view the crawl log data via the
eDiscovery portal to check whether crawled content was successfully added to the search index, or whether indexing failed because of an error.

How's your iPhone 3G working in the Sacramento area?
i am finally going to purchase my first iPhone. very excited about it. however, after reading the several hundred postings about poor or non-existent 3G service, i am having major doubts about it now.
can anyone shed some light on the subject?As of Yesterday, I saw more bars on my phone. a few of the weak spots for me are Florin and Greenhaven, I-5 south between Florin and Meadowview but once you're at Meadowview it picks up full bars due to a cell tower on the west side of I-5, sheldon and 99, and my house. Funny thing is that it works great all over 95757 but ***** in my subdivision. 3g seems to be working good from 1-4 bars all over and on most major freeway's in Sacramento.
My major problem is the phone not switching it would just drop the call then switch. I'm doing the reset Doug mention in his post to see if it would fix my issues. -

There are also index fields, where you use an Object array (I think) and field[index] as the name (field[0], field[1], etc.). You can use <%= %> scriptlets to write the property value for the tag, of course. -

there are 2 different suggestions. using coordinates is easiest to use but only works well if the area is rectangular. -

That means that the phone is locked to a carrier other than the one you are trying to use.
ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it.

I'm using iPhone 4S and it was working fast once I purchased and after few months I update my phone since to 7.0.1 since then neither my wifi is working nor my Bluetooth and even my phone is working slow, after than many new updates came I did but nothing works. Kindly help me out how to solve this problem.

once I sync my photos from my PC to my iphone where do I find them on the iphone? I went to camera icon, then to camera roll, but all I see are the photos I took on the iphone.
There are two ways to view ITHMB files. The first is to convert them to a more standard format, such as JPEG. You can try doing this with the help of the free utility, ithmbconv. The second way is to use the program iThmb Converter. It will let you view files without converting.

iOS 4.2.1 is the latest version of iOS for the 3G.
Facebook and Whatsapp both require 4.3 or higher.
If you want to use those apps, either use the old version that should be in your iTunes library or upgrade the hardware to a 3GS or newer device. -
Where are all the "DCIM" folders on iPhone? Everything not in Camera Roll.
I just finished stripping down all the DCIM folders accessible from a PC via Windows Explorer. I'm really looking for answers on the "how to", not "why it is" or "it just is that way" please.
The DCIM folders (mine [iPhone 5 w iOS 7.x] shows 5, naming convention is beyond me). These consist of the following...
Total files equals the total number of pictures/videos in Camera Roll.
- JPEGs (iPhone Created, iMSG Saved, or Moved (file xfr/emailed) to iPhone & Saved to Camera Roll),
- PNGs (screenshots)
- QuickTime Videos (iPhone Created & iMSG Saved to Camera Roll)
What is not accessible in the DCIM folder, but visible via Photos & Albums on the iPhone, are the following,
- Instagram
- Facebook
- User created folders, mine came from iTools
- Access to Albums created on the iPhone
* If I organized on the iPhone, why can't I access that organization via the DCIM folder?
What I know, if a file/image is in a user created folder, I cannot access it from Instagram. An image must exist in Camera Roll for Instagram to be able to access it... aka I have to save the file to Camera Roll.
iCloud & iTunes, are not answers to the question, "How do I access all otherwise PC-considered "DCIM" folders?" when the only access allowed is "My iPhone --> Internal Storage --> DCIM --> '5 Folders housing all Camera Roll images/videos"

As far as creating folders while in Camera Roll, the camera roll is not really designed to store photos on a long term basis, hense why if something happens to the iPhone, you lose your photos. It is designed for you to import the photos to the computer and do your organization there, and then sync the photos back to the device via iTunes. Then, should something happen to the iPhone, your photos are still safe on the computer. The ability to create folders and arrange photos through the Camera Roll is rather new. I'm not sure how it handles them, but earlier versions just put a "shortcut" so to speak in the folders you created, with the original file remaining in the Camera Roll. I'm not sure how that may have changed, but I am not sure how it handles these folders now. Seems you have discovered some of this by your comment on Instagram.
I do know that in Windows, and from what I have read it is the same on a Mac, you cannot use Explorer to put photos back into the Camera Roll. While you can read from the Camera Roll, you cannot write to it with the computer. Someone may be able to dispute that, but natively through Windows I can be sure that writing to the Camera Roll is not allowed.
Regarding your comment about the SD card, it is true, despite the fact the iPhone uses Flash memory, you cannot write to certain areas of the memory, and as I stated earlier, the Camera Roll is one of them. While it will save photos from the camera, and will also allow you to save photos from email, messages or other applications, it does not allow you to copy materials from the computer. This is the way Apple designed it.

Unable to view external webcam content. I'm using IE11 with Windows 7 64 bit. I've tried deactivating Activex control, tried different browsers etc, tweeked the tools for trusted sites etc, but am totally stuck. I know the cams are working as i can view them on mobile phone via puffin browser. I can play Youtube videos etc just fine. So why not the webcam?

Try resetting your phone: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appears first), then release. You won't risk losing any data.
