Using iPhone with family ATT plan
Hello all.
So I think I'm going to buy an iPhone today, but is there any way to use it with my family ATT plan? Can I just like put the SIM card in or do I have to have a specific plan just for me and the iPhone?

I have my Iphone on a a family plan but as with all cell planes the individual phones have thier own 2yr contracts. I actually got the Iphone after I got the other phone and then swithched to family plan. so the first phone will run out before the iphone. Also, Just some FYI. Im thinking about switching the numbers between phones which you can do with the Iphone and reactivate the Iphone with the new sim card and it will not effect you plan with the Iphone but if you put a new sim card in the other phone which is a ATT phone I will need to start a neew plan. So basically Im saying that the Iphone contracts have some diffences that you might want to make yourself aware of that very from the ATT phone plan. Also keep in mind that the Iphone has a nuilt in battery and that has a life limmit depending on charges so cell phones really only last for a couple of years under normal use. Depnding on how much you charge.

I just got an iPad, and am trying to figure out how to get it going. I have an iPhone with a data plan through AT&T. Do I need to set up a separate account for the iPad, or can I use it under my existing data plan?
You need a completely different data plan for your iPad which you set up on the device itself and it is billed to a credit/debit card. You cannot share other plans and the iPad account will not appear on your iPhone or any other AT&T account.

I am using Iphone with windows. I have draged photos from my computer into Iphone in the past, but cant seem to do it now. How do I move photos from my pc to my iphone without deleting photos that are on the phone.
You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone. This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab. Whatever is selected will be on your iphone. Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync. -
Paypal for Family Sharing - Why can't I use PayPal with Family Sharing? Have a US Visa card but a foreign address, and Apple does not seem to be able to cope with that (even though it is a multinational corporation). So I set up payment with Paypal, and it worked fine. Now I want to take advantage of Family Sharing, but Apple won't allow it. Could we lean on Apple to change this policy?

When using iPhone with Ford Automobiles' SYNC, the connection drops each time the ignition is shut off. To restore, you must turn off the bluetooth on iPhone, then restart each time. Any suggestions?
There is an update avaialbe for Ford systems to correct bluetooth problems. You need to update your system.

No. You would be using wi-fi.
the $15 plan is for AT&T's cellular data network.
Visual Voicemail, however, does use cellular network. -
Using iPhone with portable players meant for iPod
Is it supported to use iPhone with stereo players meant for iPod? (Bose/Klipsch)
I put my iPhone in the dock of my Klipsch player that I listen to my iPod with and immediately it screeched feedback through the speakers. Should I just assume that iPhone isn't compatible with these types of players?The screeching is GSM interference/feedback. If you wanted to use the iphone with the speakers, try placing it in airplane mode first. That will keep the phone features turned off and keep the interference from happening. On the downside, you won't be able to receive phone calls during that time.
I would think that they make "supported" speakers, but pretty much the only difference would be that the speakers would be shielded to keep the feedback from happening. -
Does anybody know if there's a sensible way to use iPhone with Linux? I really like the look of the iPhone 3G S, but since I run Ubuntu it looks like I've got no way to really use it.
Apart from the whole iTunes, Apple Store & Firmware updates issue, I've got a bunch of MP3's that I'd want to be able to transfer onto the phone to play them. Is there any way to do that from Linux?I've tried Wine with iTunes, but it hasn't worked. QuickTime will install, but that's it (besides, I've had loads of troubles with iTunes on Windows). Consequently, as I'm on the Linux side of my computer all the time, I never really update my podcasts, making my iPhone little different from a regular mobile phone (which in Japan has music players already built into them).
I dare say, consequently, if my iPhone is lost, stolen, or damaged, I won't be replacing it with another iPhone. -

There is an international warranty on the Mac, but not on the iPhone...iPhone warranties are tied to the country of purchase. Iphone 5s are currently only available in the US tied to a carrier, you cannot use another nano-sim card in them.

Trying to get iPhone with Family Plan.
I currently am on a family plan, and would like to get the new iPhone, if I add another line and get the iPhone will I be able to change the iPhone to another line on the Family Plan that already has the data and text packages already on it and then just use an old phone on that line that does not require a data package and just pay the $10 a month?

I am not following here. You may have been "under the impression that you had to buy a data plan when you add a line with a smartphone" because you do have to buy a data plan when you add a line with a smartphone. Furthermore, you have to keep the data plan as long as the smartphone is active on that line. If you activate a basic phone on that line at some point in the future, you can cancel the data plan as you will no longer have a smartphone on that line.
So yes, if you get a smartphone on a new line, the cost for that line will be $10/month + the cost of the data plan.
If you are only adding the new line just to get a smartphone which you can then switch to another line, you can cancel the data plan on the NEW line after the smartphone is switched to the other line because the new line will no longer have a smartphone active on it. The cost for the new line will then be $10/month. -

You need to activate the iPhone with your Roger's line/number.
If your existing phone includes a micro-SIM card and the second hand iPhone is an iPhone 4, you can insert that SIM card in the iPhone 4 followed by connecting the iPhone to iTunes to activate the iPhone with your line/number.
If your existing phone includes a regular size SIM card and the second hand iPhone is a 3GS or 3G, you can insert that SIM card in the iPhone and do the same with iTunes.
