Using iPhot 7.1.5 in OS 10.8.5, what can I upgrade to?

I have been using iPhoto 7.1.5 in OS 10.8.5 as a simple database foe some photos. I mainly use Lightroom and Photoshop for my work but wanted to do a simple book from iPhoto for a recent family event.
Ver 7 apparently no longer supports the purchase of booke, even though it allowed all the time to build one, and suggests an up grade. I have heard less than stellar reviews of ver 11 and am not sure I can go there in this OS version any way. Any idea if ver 09 (iLife 10) would work and where I might be able to get it?

Buy an iLife 09 or 11 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay; this isn't the same as the Mac App Store version, which requires 10.9. Going from 10.8.5 to 10.9 is free.

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.

That's the problem. You can't restore a device to a backup made on a device that was running a higher iOS version than the device being restored. You'll first have to update the replacement to iOS 6, then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings, go back through the setup screens again and when given the option select Restore From iCloud Backup. Your backup should now be available to restore to.

I purchased a used IPad in the USA to send to our charity in Ghana. It was posted from Nevada and was never delivered. I have purchased another Ipad and want to use the Apps I purchased on the missing Ipad? What can I do?

To Clarify above. I purchased a 1st generation Ipad to send to our charity in Ghana. I posted it off from Nevada US Postal service and it never arrived inl Takaradi Ghana. My belief is that as the customs declaration said "Ipad" it was too good an oppertunity for a postal worker between the US and Ghana to get a free Ipad.
After waiting a few months to confirm the loss, I purchased another Ipad at Schipol airport Netherlands as I was travelling back to Ghana this week. The cost was considerably more than the used Ipad and I am now out far more than I budgeted for.
My question is: How can I download the paid apps I had on the stolen Ipad on to the one I have just purchased. I have all the details concerning the stolen Ipad but no the seriel number. Any help appreciated.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

My iPod touch 4G suddenly pops up with 'charging is not supported with this accessory' no matter what cord or source I use. It worked fine for months before this. What can I do?

This is crazy!  I love my iPod but it suddenly has a charging issue. Please HELP! I had absolutely no problem charging it for 7 or 8 months. Then last week I started getting an error message every time I try to charge it. I used to be able to charge it through my PC, PS3, wall adapter or car adapter. Now I get this message no matter where I try to charge it or with what cord! It says, 'charging is not supported with this accessory'. It happens after about 3-5 min of charging. Then I have to unplug it and plug it back in to keep charging it!  How or why did this happen and how do I fix it?

If you did not do a reset of your iPod please try that (you will not lose any data)
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If this does not work inspect the opening in your iPod where the cable connects. Look for any debris and clean it (a magnifying glass may be required).

I have malware only on Firefox and only on retail sites. Used spybot, reset Firefox and reinstalled. Nothing worked. What can I do?

Recently I must have downloaded a virus. On Firefox when I go to any commericial site I am bombarded with pop up ads. Facebook, PDFs and search engines there are no pop ups.I have downloaded and ran Spybot, reset Firefox and reinstall Firefox. I tried using IE and I don't seem to be having the same problems. I do like Firefox, especially for using my RSS feeds. Hopefully you have a solution. BTW I have an older PC running XP.

Upgrade pricing now only applies to version 9 and X. So if you have a retail serial number for X, you should be able to upgrade. (Or consider subscription).
