Using Iphoto on my iMac and unable to delete photos. Try all the different ways and they don't work. Any suggestions?
I have loaded pictures on my IMac from disc from camera. Now am trying to delete some of the pictures from my computer and none of the delete techniques work. Can't figure what else to do. My Iphoto seems a little unstable and I wonder if there is something wrong with the soft ware. Any ideas?

Deleting Photos from an iPhoto Library:
1 - from an Event or the Photos mode: select the photo(s) and use the Delete key to move the photos to the trash bin. Then empty the iPhoto Trash bin as follows:
2 - from an album, smart album, book, slideshow, card, etc.: select the photo(s) and use the key combination of Command+Option+Delete to move the photos to the trash bin. Then empty the trash bin as above.
NOTE: deleting a photo from an album, slideshow, book, etc., with only the Delete key only deletes that photo from that item. Deleting a photo from an Event deletes ALL occurances of that photo in the library.

Hi, I have recently updated my OS X to Maverick. when I did, my mail programme (Mail) will not open - for me only. There are 4 other users of the iMac, and they don't appear to have any problems.
First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive. -

The apps can only be run on an iOS device. They will not run on your PC.

I have multiple users on my Mac and I was wondering how you tell the system to retain all the user names so they don't have to enter their email addresses every time ???
Email addresses into what?
Each user should have their own account and password to log in. Each is independent of the other. So for Mail each has their own Mail account if they set one up in Mail.
That's the way it should be set up. Are you using a single account and allowing multiple users to use that one single account? If so then in Mail at least you could set up individual mail accounts. But everything else in the system is shared. -

There are no robots here. Everyone here is a "real person", a user just like you. How about telling us what the problem is that you are experiencing when you try to buy a song? If you mean that you have forgotten your security questions, go to:

If you've forgotten your answers, there should be a link just under the security questions fields where you can have a reset email sent to your Rescue email address. You can try Restoring it in iTunes but I believe you will end up needing to have it serviced.

I rely heavily on my earphones because well... I'm lazy but they don't work. They work on my friend's iPhone who hasn't updated yet but I've updayed and the mic and volume buttons don't work. Please make a correct update!
Nope, still same problem. I did an install, didn't work. Then I completely removed my IDT driver, restarted, installed the driver, restarted, same problem.
When I troubleshoot my audio it always asks me which one to troubleshoot. It only works if I do one of the "Speakers / HP - IDT" but I don't know why it has so many devices listed with the same name.
Also, after I troubleshoot and I can hear audio, if I go to "Manage audio devices" it still shows that no audio device is installed, which is why the webinars won't work. -

Open itunes, connect ipod, select what you want on the iphone, sync.

When I changed to my new MacBookPro I had to authorize it although I used TimeMachine to transfer my settings and data.
Did you try to deselect Wi-Fi syncing and enable it again after that?

I have tried to install on two separate chip orders. One was the initial order and the other set was the replacement chips. I followed all the installation instructions Apple has on their site. I have even watched a few videos to make sure. I have bought RAM chips before for my Macbook Pro and they work fine. Am I purchasing the wrong RAM chips? Here is the type of RAM chips I ordered... 8.0GB (2x4.0GB Kit) PC3-10600 DDR3 1333MHz SO-DIMM 204 Pin CL9 SO-DIMM.
That appears to be the correct dimms:
204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
Whether yours follow any additional apple requirments is another question. Was there any mention about apple compatibility from the place you bought them?
If they aren't working they are probably bad or missing some additional apple requirement. But try reversing them first or using one at a time.
FYI, OWC sells that stuff too (definitely apple compatible). And if you follow that link you will again see you have the correct specs. -
I cannot work out how to attach a photo as an attachment to an email. I have tried several times today using different methods (ie, changing the email to plain text, dragging the photo from Iphoto over the mail icon, emailing directly from Iphoto), but none of them work. Everything seems to just produce an email with an embedded photo. Any ideas?

Mail.app offers two settings you can try to manipulate: Edit > Attachments > Always send Windows-friendly attachments, and, Always insert attachments at end of message

Thank you and happy new year.I've had this same problem, but when I am using "Parallels" to run windows programs on my new Macbook Air, with an external Mac LED Cinema Display, the brightness keys on the external apple keyboard do not work. Sound seems to work fine. They work fine in Mac mode.
