Using iPod for data transfer from windows to a Mac... is this possible?
ok here's the situation.
my room mate has a (video) iPod 30G colour screen and everything. she has downloaded a show (not from iTunes) on her laptop using windows. We want to use her iPod to transfer the data from that show onto my computer which is an iMac G5 Intel Core Duo.
We connected the iPod to my computer but it was not recognized. Is this because her iPod is formatted for Windows or is there possibly another reason?

From what I know, windows will not recognize the complicated data of a mac formatted device; hence not recognizing it. Macs can recognize a windows formated ipod though, so if you decide to reformat it on windows, then you can use it on both computers. If you dont though, looks like you are out of luck, sorry.

it mainly depends on:
1) what you have to transfer, custom data, standard data (for SAP business logic e.g. customer/delivery)
2) how you need the transfer mode to be (synch/asynch)
3) the volume of data
4) the frequency of data transfer
Consider that a typical scenario for interfacing SAP systems like CRM/R3 with XI is mainly based on IDocs/RFCs/proxy,..
In general when communicating from XI to BW you should prefer Proxy (the first link explains in details why).

Use of Shared Variables for data transfer from a RT traget to a desktop application

I want to adopt the shared variables to share data in an existing distributed application comparable with the T3 Benchmark configuration in this document:

The current implementation uses a well tuned solution with RT FIFOs and TCP/IP communication with a desktop-PC which monitors and stores the data.
The desktop application runs with a much slower execution rate than the TCL. So the TCP/IP packets are used to buffer the data with a package size dependent on the data send rate.
To use the shared variables instead of this RT FIFO + TCP/IP implementation I need to read the shared vairable buffer at once each time the desktop application reads the shared variable.
But according to this quotation from [1]:
"With buffering, you can account for temporary fluctuations between read/write rates of a variable. Readers that occasionally read a variable slower than the writer can miss some updates."
this seems to be impossible. Am I right?
Are there any suggestions to circumvent this problem? Or are shared variables not made to share data between unsynchronized processes without data loss?
Regards TillYou can use the error-cluster to detect the end of your queue. The erroroutput of the shared variable will return a -2220 Warning, if it reads a value it has read already before. I attached a modified example and saved it for 8.2 I hope you can open it.

Can I use bluetooth for data transfer to/from iPhone?
I was wondering why I cant get my iPhone Bluetooth feature to work/connect with a Razor phone...
Can I not hook up, using Bluetooth, to another phone and recieve ringtones?
Or am I not doing something right in the Bluetooth mode?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Macs OS (OSX) will read NTFS partitions just fine, it just won't natively write to NTFS partitions with out 3rd party software. If you're simply trying to transfer files from the NTFS partition, then all you need is to place the NTFS drive into an external USB or Firwire enclosure, attach it to the iMac then drag the files from the external drive to the internal drive. Then you can reformat the old drive (if you wish) to OSX extended and use it as OSX backup drive or an external storage for the iMac.

I know that if you try to plug in your ipod from Mac to Windows, you will ended up losing all your files in the iPod. Will this happen in Linux to?

This is not true at all. Your iPod will only get erased if you tell it to be erased. Nothing happens on its own which would cause this.

This is a non-issue, since there is no iTunes for Linux. You can mount your iPod under Linux with a little work, but again, your iPod will only become erased if you erase it. -
Error in RBDMIDOC report run in E-REC, for data transfer from HR to EREC system

We are on EHP5, EREC 605, SP0007. EREC is on a standalone, separate instance. HR in a separate instance.
We have created new org.units & positions, which we are trying to move from HR to EREC system for starting the EREC process.
In the report message type, gave input "HRMD_ABA", The output throws this error. (Screenshot attached)
Please provide your helps on the reasons for the error and corrective action to be taken.

How to move that new vacant org.unit with position to EREC system ?
Should I run the org.unit with positions using PFAL (Insert/update mode) or use RBDMIDOC method ?

Trouble syncing iPod Classic after switching from Windows XP to Mac OS X
I'm using an 80 GB iPod Classic (the first iPod classic to come out) and I've had it for a little over two years. Ever since I've had it, I've been syncing it with a Dell Inspiron 1501 with Windows XP Professional. Haven't had any problems since buying it.
I recently bought a 13-inch Macbook Pro, and spent a long time transferring my music from my Windows computer over to this one. When it was done, I formatted my iPod Classic for Mac and tried to sync my library. It works slowly and steadily until the syncing freezes at a random song. Usually after about 700-800 songs is when this happens.
Then my iTunes starts moving very slowly and it's impossible to get the iPod to stop syncing or eject properly. I had to force quit the program and eject the iPod's disc before I could try again. I struggled with syncing in this way about 3 times before I gave up. Now I'm trying to add music manually, a little bit at a time.
However, every time I eject the iPod to see if my songs are getting put on there, it says there is no music. When I go to the "about" screen, it says I have memory on the device, but none of it is music.
I've tried reformatting through iTunes and erasing the disc using disc utility. Anything else I should do?There are plenty of topics on this very question which gets asked fairly often depending on your search criteria.
Short answer is no.
The OS X license agreement provides for installing and using it on a single Apple branded/labeled computer only.
The only way to install Tiger on a PC is via a hack of some sort and even if the hack is successful, very little on your PC would be supported and the overall performance would not be worth the trouble.

If you want to run Tiger and Vista, purchase an Intel Mac which gives you the ability to run both operating systems natively on a single computer. -

Advantages of using BAPI over LSMW for data transfer

Can anybody please give an input for advantages of using BAPIs in data transfer compare to LSMW. If we use BAPI for data transfer of master and transaction data how it is more usefull compare to LSMWs developed.

Hi - I would like to build the logic in which it should accomodate the communication redundancy using serial RS-232 for Data Transfer b/w Host and RT irrespective of TCP/IP Data Transfer.
I want to do data transfer b/w host and RT through RS232 VISA portal whenever TCP/IP ethernet cable has been unplugged from the controller continuosly , it should keep on checking for TCP/IP link re-establishing also , when ever the tcp/ip link established again that time the communication should be using in that link only. This is accomplished by deploying the RT vi as execuatbale file. I made some logic regards to the above said logic , bur it was not working as much I expected.
I request you to go through the attached two VI's and let me know , what I did wrong in that,
