Using iPod radio attachment with iPhone 3G

I can't - very disappointed (along with many other issues I've had). Can somebody maybe build an app for this ?!

Even though the connectors might be the same, they probably charge differently and use different levels of voltages. You can try it out and see if it will work, it shouldn't damage the device or anything, it will probably say it won't work if anything.
Not true. ALL USB ports and chargers provide 5 volts nominal (actually 4.5 to 5.5). Wall chargers provide 1 amp; computers are only required to provide 0.5 amp, but most newer ones provide 1 amp. The only difference is that 0.5 amp will take twice as long to charge the phone.
Firewire is different; there was a range of voltages that Firewire chargers would provide, so they were not interchangeable. But the iPhone doesn't work at all with Firewire so it's not an issue.

Al that is left are the standard fixes:
    - Reset the dock
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Problems in compatibility of iPod radio remote with iPod classic 160 GB

    Hi all,
I have just bought a iPod classic 160 GB and want to buy a iPod radio remote as well. However, after I have done my research, I find the radio remote is not compatible with iPod classic perfectly…
Do you think it is a good idea for me to wait a new radio remote (maybe) or later Apple will release update?
    Thanks

I use my Radio Remote with a Classic; it does everything that it had with my 5G-Video EXCEPT it will not allow me to set radio stations, either with the Radio Remote's control or the iPod's control.
I have spoken with an iPod specialist (Apple Care) and according to him Apple has acknowleged less than 100% compatibility/functionality with the Radio Remote and the Classics. One of the reasons, he stated, was that several 5G-Video iPods were "getting fried" when the Remote was not fully connected to the docking-port. So Apple has decided to reengineer the port [for better a connection, I gather]. What puzzles me the most about the new generation of iPods is why they were rolled out without warning customers that their Car-Charger, Video Player, dock, AV Cable, or APPLE'S OWN Remote will not play nice with each other!
This go around, it's find out the hard way.

  • Will any iPod charger work with iPhone

Does any (Apple) iPod charger work with iPhone? I would like to charge the phone in different places without carrying the wall charger with me all the time. I got my regular iPod charger and was hoping that I can use it. I noticed that the wall charger that comes with the phone has a lower amp rating than the iPod charger I have. I would think this shouldn't make a difference unless everything else (e.g., the connector wiring) is the same.
    Does anyone know for sure?
    Thanks

I believe so. Check this link http://www.apple.com/iphone/questionsandanswers.html scroll to the section Accessories for iPhone and read the first one.
I'd imagine if there was a problem they would have mentioned it. Also, if it makes you feel any better, I've been using iPod charger to charge my phone and so far it's been working fine.

  • I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email then.  Is there a way to fix this?

I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email from the phone screen.  Is there a way to fix this so the phone doesn't have to be unlocked?

Apple, as I'm sure you know, now manage official phone 'unlocks' directly rather than the Newtork doing so.
When a GSM Network Provider buys a consignment of iPhone's they are locked to that carrier and may only be officially unlocked if said carrier requests it. If so, it is Apple who do this, via iTunes.
I am therefore inclined to think that part of the any generic iTunes syncing process involves the transmission of key hardware data, including IMEI, to Apple whenever the handset is synced.
If this is the case and, as each iTunes account is linked to a credit card, were Apple to maintain a database of genuinely stolen phones (ones reported to Police) they could advise said Police force when a stolen phone stuck its metaphorical head over the parapets once again? They would be able to identify the name & address of the new user.
I have spoken to the Police here in Ireland today and they regularly engage with Apple on such matters.
This may not be tracking as we know it Jim, (not using GSM Triangulation or GPS) but it's arguably even more targetted and leaves an indelible fingerprint of guilt on the thief.
The laws here are simple in this regard, if you are in possession of stolen property, knowlingly or otherwise, you forfeit the goods once the Police show up. Whether you get prosecuted depends on whether you stole the goods or were duped into purchasing them.

  • I purchased an used iPod nano 4th with many many songs on it,but when i hooked the usb cable to try and change the name, something went wrong.i had to reset it,thinking my music would still be there, but i lost everything! Is there any way to get these back

I purchased an used iPod Nano 4th.with many, many, many songs and albums on it,but when i plugged the usb cable into my laptop(i am a new comer to computer) i thought i was changing the name and thought i was syncing but something went wrong and everything was gone! is there any way possible to get these back? Please I need Help!!! Thank you!

Was the music purchased via your iTunes account and/or did you buy it from other sources or copy it from your own CDs, or did the music belong to the previous owner ? If the music was yours then you can sync it back to the iPod via your computer's iTunes. If the music is not still on your computer then have you got a backup of it ? If not then for iTunes purchases you might be able to re-download it depending on which country you are in. If the music was put on the iPod by the previous owner then you will need to buy your own copies of it.

    Hi sausage,
Unless you can find out the Apple ID and password of the previous owner, there is nothing you can do to remove the previous user's information. Return it for a refund.

  • IPod Connector Cord with iPhone 3G

Hi, I have an Video iPod 5G and want to know if I can use the USB to iPod dock connector cord that came with it with the iPhone 3G
    Thanks

Yes, it should work. I also am using my iPod 5G cable with my new iPhone and it syncs and charges just fine with both my computers (iMac and MBP). I keep the cable that came with the iPhone plugged into the AC adapter to charge it elsewhere.

  • How do i use my Platronix bluetooth with iPhone 4 to listen to music.

How do i use my Platronix bluetooth with iPhone4 to listen to music.
Its a mono bluetooth paired with the phone.
I dont want to buy a new stereo headset but can i use this same one.

One way is to sync the contacts from the old iPhone to iCloud. Then when you turn on the new phone and set it up for iCloud and turn on the Contacts in Settings >iCloud, they will come to the new phone. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

  • How Can I Use Bluetooth For Sharing With iPhones?

Hello, i have an iPod touch 3rd Gen. 32GB, And I'm Wondering How Could I Share Music or Photos With My Cousin's iPhone (Jailbroken iPhone), When I Turn The Bluetooth On, Nothing Shows Up On My iPod Or On Here iPhone,
So How Could I Share Things With Her I Have ''File Share'' And ''Bump'' Apps
    So what should I Do???

You can't share music over air or by Bluetooth because of several reasons of which is understandable by apple. Apple doesn’t provide any way for you to copy files from your iPod back to your Mac/ between iPods or iPhones. While there are legitimate reasons for blocking bi-directional copying— which again the word music piracy comes to the mind
The only thing that I heard that you could share with iPhone to iPhone/ iPod touch is photos&contacts an app called "bump" and "Bluetooth photo share". With those applications you and your friend can share photos/phone contacts and other kind of files.
    "Bump" application link below:

  • Help!  Using email .mac aliases with iPhone???

I hope I can explain this in simple terms. Does anyone know why or how to use a different alias under my .mac email account with iPhone? In other words, I use one of my alias email addresses as my primary, but in iPHone there isn't a place to designate which account I want mail sent from...so right now if comes from my main .mac account name.
Why didn't they think about this?

The iPhone does not support .mac aliases at this time.

  • Wanting to know how to use itunes radio on my iphone

I'm inquiring as to how I can use the itunes radio on my iphone ?

There is no facility in the iPhone for handling iTunes radio. There are third-party apps in the App Store that can play radio from the internet, although not for all the stations in iTunes Radio.

  • Can you really use EverWet waterproofing spray with iPhone & laptops?

Does anyone know if you can safely use the new "EverWet" spray to waterproof an iPhone, laptop, etc.? (http://www.neverwet.com/)
Demo videos show an iPhone treated w/ this spray, fully functional while submerged in water—but how is this possible, without destroying the ports, and/or overheating the device? See one demo here: http://bit.ly/15eBufn
EverWet is now sold in Home Depots as of 2012 - but considering the incredible application possibilities, I'm curious why I haven't heard more about it—and how it wuold be possible to use w/ a laptop, without destroying the ports / functionality.
    Can anyone help with this?

its NOT possible, Im familiar with that nanotechnology hydrophobic spray,..its good for boots, gloves, and exterior coatings on NON electronic devices.  There is nothing on earth that is going to protect your AIR computer from water, especially submerged, (except maybe a giant industrial ziplock as used by the Army to protect electronics in the field)
if such spray made it to the micro resistors etc etc in the logic board and bridged an electrical gap even with the machine OFF (much less on), it would fry your computer.
MACS already have non porous metal casings, and NOTHING on earth is going to protect a LOT of water seeping thru the keyboard slots onto the motherboard,....NOTHING.
Dont even think of using that stuff on your iphone or laptop

  • Best or proper way to Use a Mophie Helium with iPhone 5s

What would be the recommended way to use a Mophie Helium with a iPhone 5s?  Use the phone battery as primary and recharge from the Mophie as needed or use the Mophie battery first and then the iPhone? The later is what Mophie shows in their ops manual but I would like to hear Apples opinion on the issue.

Based on this http://www.mophie.com/shop/iphone-5/juice-pack-helium-iphone-5, it would not appear that using the Morphie first is what is recomended. since it is essentailly a charging mechaism, frankly, that wouldn't make any sense.
BTW: this is a user-to-user forum, so Apple will not offer an opinion here.
