Using iTunes account on two computers?

Can I use my iTunes library on two different computers? For example, if I have all my songs downloaded to my office computer in my iTunes, can I sync my ipod to my home computer and use the same library as the songs I downloaded to my office computer?

You can't auto-sync an Ipod with multiple libraries. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:

Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

I have an itunes account set up with one email address. It was originally set up on a PC and my two daughters have Ipods that are synched to this computer. I finally got my own ipod (yea!) and want to use it with my macbook. I tried to download songs using the same email and my purchased songs were not able to be played on the macbook. Can I share this account or do I need to set up a separate Itunes account for the macbook?

You can authorize your iTunes account on up to 5 computers at a time.

Itunes account on two computers

I recently got a new laptop and my husband was on our pc and I logged into itunes on the laptop and downloaded a heap of music. Now I realise that it is not on both pc and laptop??? Is there any way I can put both on one computer? I am frustrated as I can only sync music from one computer and not the other.
Can anyone please help?

Ok. I am unsure how to use the home sharing in itunes. It seems that on my pc I have one itunes library, and on my netbook I have another. The one on my pc has more music than the newer one on my netbook. I would like both computers to have the same music. For example: they both have the same songs, content, but I recently purchased the netbook, so it doesn't have all my older itunes library content.
I feel very stupid, like I am missing something very simple.
My pc is windows vista OS, and my netbook is windows xp OS.
Same itunes account, both computers are authorized, and I use an ipod nano 4th g, and an ipod touch 2g. Just want the same content (songs, apps, photos, everything), on all items (pc, netbook, and ipods)

I bought a 5th Gen Touch. I use iTunes 12 on two computers. One computer allows me to drag and drop. The other does not.The one that allows it has problems. Any idea as to why I can drag and drop on one and not the other. Both are authorized.

I first connected the Touch to my desktop and it allows me to drag and drop mp3 files from my old Classic, which is backed up to a directory. Unfortunately, that computer has gone down before I got a chance to fill the Touch. I have the files on another computer but when I connect the Touch to it, it doesn't allow me to drag and drop the files. I have iCloud set on both systems and I have manual management check marked. I'm not understanding why it allows drag and drop on one PC and not the other when they are both set the same way. My question? What do I need to do to be able to drag and drop in iTunes 12? I didn't do anything special on the computer that allows it so I am at a loss.

Howdy! I have itunes on my PC Tower. I just bought a MacBook Pro and wanted to buy a song, but "it said no" .... I have to create an account first. My ID/Password did not work. Can I just have one ID for both computers?

You may need to 'authorize' your new computer under the Store menu from w/in iTunes. Keep in mind that your iPod (if you use one) will only sync with one computer--not both. Also, the songs you buy on one computer will not automatically show up on the other--you will need to transfer them yourself (burn a CD, copy files, etc.)

Is there any way for someone to create an iTunes that allows a person to access the same iTunes account on two different computers? Like if my mom wanted the same songs on her computer as the ones on my dad's computer, but she doesn't want to go through the trouble of using a flash drive. you can use the same itunes id for purchases and so on, but have separate icloud id's for imessaging and all the icloud stuff. it's not preferable, but it isn't a problem either.

They must be iPhone numbers and only if you have two iPhones that are associated with the same Apple ID. If you don't have two iPhone numbers, you can use another email address one one of the iPads in order to use FaceTime and Messages on both devices that are both using the same Apple ID.

If you go to Settings > iTunes & AppStore , you can sign out from your account, and sign in with the one you've used to purchase apps.This will not remove any apps you already have on it.
Then you can go to AppStore and download apps you've purchased (either via "Purchased" button in "Updates", or simply search for them and download them.
That way you can have multiple accounts' apps on your iPad. When updating, you will be prompted for the credentials for account you've purchased given App with.

I think you need to manually update on at least the computer that has the smaller music selection.
it may be best to turn off automatic updates on both machines and manually add and delete songs.
or you could network both computers to share one music library
