Using iTunes credit on Apple TV

When purchasing rentals on my Apple TV it asks for confirmation of my credit card details to pay for the purchase rather then using available iTunes credit through redeemed vouchers. Apart from deleting the details of my associated credt card, how can I get it to take it from my iTunes account first?

I honestly don't know the answer but I assume it would use the rental credits before any cash credit.
Why not contact iTunes store support and query with them as they presumably gave you the rental credits.
If you ever sream stuff from your computer iTunes library to AppleTV under Computers icon on AppleTV, you may not know bvut you can rent in iTunes and once fully downloaded the rental will show up under Computers as a new rentals row.

Hi, I want to rent movies on ATV and use my itunes credit to pay for them, however there is no option to select payment method and ATV automatically charges my credit card. I have used itunes credit in the past with Apple TV without needing to do anything, but now it only allows me to rent movies with my saved credit card. Is there a way to do this without deleting the Credit card info.?

Not purchased anything recently but in the past it has always used credit first.
Contact iTunes Store support - maybe they can adjust the account and refund to cc and figure out why it's doing this.

Yes you can, just add the credit to your account and the credit is billed before it touches the credit card.

I didn’t think it would. The amount hasn’t been removed from my itunes credit on my iphone as yet but it has on my itunes account.
It hasn’t worked before so I was sceptical if it would work now but apple were going to fix a bug they had.

Hi there. Does it actually give you a message stating it's going to charge your credit card or is it simply asking to verify your information? You may see a prompt if your information is not up-to-date or if you have an expired credit card on file.
Also, Apple TV does show the credit card summary but it will charge your gift card by default as long as credit is available. You can verify your available credit by going to Store > View My Account from iTunes on your computer.

No, the credit on your account can only be used to buy from the iTunes store (music, films, tv shows etc), the App Store, ibookstore and the Mac App Store - it can't be used to buy from the Apple online or bricks-and-mortar stores.

Using iTunes credit to purchase voucher

Hello iTuners,
maybe this is too obvious for me to see or just impossible, maybe you can help me figure out.
I have an Australian iTunes account running since I lived there for two years. I'm switching to a German account now in order to use it at home (different Apps offered) but still have roughly $50 in my account.
So I tried to use the credit so send a voucher to a friend in Australia. But every time I want to purchase it, iTunes wants to charge my credit card rather than using my account credit, which is pretty pointless in this case.
Do you know of any way around this???
Any clues will be much appreciated!

Sorry, but you cannot use a credit balance to purchase a gift voucher or other gift. You'll need to use a credit card.

Turning off auto-renewing subscriptions on a computer
To turn off auto-renewal:
Launch iTunes on your computer.
Choose Store > Sign In from the iTunes menu.
Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
Choose Store > View My Account. You may be asked to re-enter your Apple ID password. Click View Account .
From the Account Information screen, scroll to the bottom of the page to the Settings section.
Click Manage to the right of Subscriptions.
From the Manage Subscription screen click on the subscription that you would like to manage.
On the Edit Subscription screen, you will see the current subscription status and subscription details.
Click the Off radio button to turn off Auto-Renewal.

Using Itunes Match with Apple TV 2 - Problems

I've subscribed to Itunes Match, and want to use it on my Apple TV 2.
When I select the 'Music' tab it shows me a screen saying that it's preparing my itunes library.
It seems to be stuck on this screen.
I've forced sleep, and it still shows this screen.
Am I being impatient? (Bear in mind, yesterday it showed me my itunes library in Icloud but wouldn't let me play anything).

Update - fixed this with a full restore. Working perfectly.

Can't use iTunes credit for gifts?

I have over £60 credit from a gift card on my iTunes account, but if I gift an app to someone, I get charged for it, it doesn't use up my credit. Is this right or should I be doing something different? Things I have bought for myself have used my credit.

Then something did not transfer correctly.
What exactly did you copy? Was it the ENTIRE iTunes folder? If not... start over and copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder.
