Using iTunes Match on multiple devices

I have iTunes Match but can't see TV shows on my Macbook Air. They are on my iPad and iPhone but not on the Macbook. Can anyone help?

I don't know what you read, but iTune Match is only for music and nothing else. There is another service Apple also offers called iTunes in the Cloud which is not the same thing but allows you to re-download past purchases from the iTunes Store.
To view your iTunes in the Cloud purchases open iTunes Prefs > Store and select "show iTunes in the Cloud purchases." This is not iTunes Match.

  • ITunes match across multiple devices?

Is it possible to use iTunes match across multiple devices?  My wife and I use the same computer when at home and we have music stored on that computer. She had her own Apple id to use with her own iPhone, as do I.  We don't want to have multiple music libraries since we liste to most of the same music.  Is it possible to have iTunes match between 2 iPhones that are using different Apple id's but the same iTunes account?
    Thanks

When I try to go to iTunes music match on her phone it asks me to sign into match, which I am assuming is the same as her Apple ID name and password.  This is a different name and password than my account.  So, it seems that she cannot access my "cloud" from her phone in order to download music that I have purchased.  I guess since she has her own iClud account, she needs to sign up for iTunes match through that account and pay the fee.  I was hoping we could access the same 'Cloud" to have the same library of music? Hope that made sense.
    Thanks for the help.

  • HT204406 I enabled iTunes Match on multiple devices. When I change certain playlists they update fine on the other devices, but i have a playlist on my macbook pro that cannot be seen on my other devices.  How do I correct this?

I just enabled iTunes Match on multiple devices in my house.  At first, almost all the playlists were duplicated.  I manually deleted the playlists back to one entry per playlist...a real pain.  I could see changes made on one device updating on the other devices for almost all my playlists...which told me things were working correctly.  But....There are a couple of playlists on my Macbook Pro that won't update to my other devices, like my desktop.  What gives?

You can sign in on multiple devices to use iTunes Match but it must be with the exact same Apple ID you used to purchase the service. You will need to sign out of the existing ID on the devcies and sign in with the new one.

  • I have 2 iphones in the family and want to use itunes match on both devices, but my husband has his own itunes acct, how can he use the main itunes library and get out music on his phone also

I have 2 iphones in the family and want to use itunes match on both devices, unfortunately my husband has his own itunes acct and when i change on his phone to my itunes acct it states that the email is already in use, any help on how to get the itunes match to go onto both devices, thanks

    "Method Three
Create a separate iTunes library for each device. Note:It is important that you make a new iTunes Library file. Do not justmake a copy of your existing iTunes Library file. If iTunes is open, quit it.
This one may work. I searched and searched on the website for something like this, I guess I just didn't search correctly, lol. I will give this a try later. My daughter is not be back for a few weekends, therefore I will have to try the Method 3 when she comes back for the weekend again. "
I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. She wants to sync her iPod and also backup her iPod at both places. Both PCs have been authorised. Thanks

  • ITunes Match on multiple devices at home?

    Hi,
At home we have 3 iPhones and 2 iPads.
On one of them I subscribed to iTunes Match for $25 a year.  I thought on all my other devices I would just be able to turn on iTunes match under that one payment of $25, but when I try it says I'm not subscribed.
All the iPhones and iPads share the same apple ID, except in "iTunes & App Store" the apple id is slightly different.  I tried to change my phone that says I'm not subscribed to iTunes Match to the same "iTunes & App Store" ID as the one that has iTunes Match....but when I do it says that apple ID is already in use and won't let me save it on my second devise.
Can I pay the one fee and it applies to all my devices (if so any troubleshooting tips to fix), or is it $25 per device?
    Thanks
    Dave

You can sign in on multiple devices to use iTunes Match but it must be with the exact same Apple ID you used to purchase the service. You will need to sign out of the existing ID on the devcies and sign in with the new one.

  • Sharing iTunes Match across multiple devices

    Hi All,
I have done some searching but I can’t find the answer to my question(s).
    Current setup:
I have 1 PC and 2  Macbooks (my PC and my children have a Macbook each). Each PC/Mac has its own iTunes Library which is linked by my homeshare account. We share most of the music we buy across our libraries via homeshare
We also have 3 iPhone 4’s mine and the children’s. Each iPhone 4 is linked to its own iTunes library on the respective devices and we have 3 separate iTunes accounts.
I have just signed up for iTunes music Match on my PC/iTunes Account and want to know what the deal is regarding setting up my kids iPhones so that they are also linked to my Music Match account and how that can be done. I  also want them to be able keep their own iTunes account so that they can still buy music and apps and download them to their phone and synch to their Macbook iTunes libraries.
    Is this possible?
In summary  - I don’t want to pay for 3 iTunes  Match accounts but want my kids to be able to take advantage (synch to thier iPhones) of the music that is now in the cloud via my music match account whilst keeping their own iTunes accounts.
Hope this is clear and that someone can help…
    Cheers
    M

what makes it tricky is the individual itunes accounts for apps.
regarding music, my recommendation is to put each computer on the same itunes account (keep the files, but link the computers to the same account)  when you activate match on each computer, the software will add the files from each respective computer and will create a master library (each computer will be able to see ALL files from all three computers.  Then, I would put each iphone on the same itunes account (everyone share the same account).
    as for apps:
I'm thinking I am reading right that the three iphones are linked to separate computers.  I am pretty sure that an itunes account on a laptop or desktop can be "authorized" by multiple accounts.  One beauty of itunes 10.5 is the ability to sync an iphone on one computer for "photos" and use the same iphone to sync to another computer for "apps" and another computer for "podcasts" etc (if anyone had any use for doing such a thing).  What I believe this would allow someone in your situation to do, is to essentially be able to log each child's iphone into one itunes account for itunes match, but then use each individual computer to still sync the children's different app accounts.  One child can sync to one computer for their apps and another child to another computer for their apps, etc.  The difference, however, is i'm pretty sure there is no getting around what to do about future bought apps.  they might all have to be bought on one account.  If that is truely the case, you may not be able to do separate itunes accounts.  In such a scenario, i would add everything to the itunes account that has the most apps, and begin shareing apps among them in order to share itunes match

  • How to properly set up iTunes Match on multiple devices

    Hi,
I've just purchased iTunes Match and I would like to set it up to all devices in my apartment. I've read that you can set it up up to 10 devices.
    My situation:
I have MacBook Pro, iPhone 4 and iPad with my Apple ID.
My wife has her MacBook Pro and iPhone 3GS with her Apple ID.
My Macbook is authorised with her account and her MacBook is athorised with my account, so we can copy music from each other.
We have almost the same music library, just with few differencies (I have more heavy music and she has bit more soft music).
I've purchased the iTunes Match on my MacBook. How could I turn the iTunes Match on her MacBook and iPhone?
Thanks a lot for any advice or link

  • Do I need to keep my Mac running while using iTunes match on iOS devices?

I'm considering subscribing to iTunes Match. Currently all my music is stored on a Macbook. Suppose I upload/match this music with iTunes Match. Can I then listen to the music on my iPhone/iPad even while the Macbook is off or do I need to keep the Macbook running (and connected to the Internet) while I'm listening to music?

Yes once the music is on a device (iPad, Iphone, iPod) you don't need to have your Mac running to listen to music.  This is true if you do Match or just sync with iTunes.  Once the music is on the IOS device or on the iCloud (so it can be downloaded) you do not have to keep your MAC up and connected to the Internet.

  • Using itunes match on multiple computer...

I just purchased iTuens match.  I currently have a Mac and an iPhone.  The iTunes match works fine...my question...if install the itunes software on my work computer (windoes 7) and log into it with my apple id, will i be able to listen to my iTunes library?

Will it physically download the music?  The reason I ask is for space constraints on the work laptop.

  • Restored iPhone, signed in with wrong apple ID & can't use iTunes Match for 33 days!!u

    Hi,
When I connected my iPhone 5 to itunes it said it couldn't read the device and I had to restore it.
After I did this I signed in with my primary Apple ID, that I use for iCloud,  Mail, iMessage, Photo Stream etc. However most of my purchases & iTunes Match have been made on another Apple ID (that I used before iCloud was introduced)
Now when I try and turn on iTunes match using this ID I get a message saying:
"This device is already associated with an Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this device with just one apple ID every 90 days.  This device can be used with another Apple ID in 33 days"
This is very very frustrating as I didn't realise what I had done when signing into the iPhone. I have sent a message to Apple to see if they can reset this before the 33 days so I can sign in with the correct ID for match.
Anyone else had a similiar problem? I hope that there will be away in future of merging ID's so that this problem doesn't happen - I'm sure it's very common!
    Thanks
    Steven

Yes, I did as you suggested and signed into the iTunes store with the Apple ID I use for purchases and iTunes Match.
When I attempt to turn on iTunes match I am given the following message:
"This device is already associated with an Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this device with just one apple ID every 90 days.  This device can be used with another Apple ID in 33 days"
I believe this happened after I restored my iPhone5(as requested by iTunes) and logged back into the device with the incorrect ID, which was then set up to use for iTunes & App Store Purchases.
When I then logged out of this ID and tried to use the correct ID, it was then that I received the message saying I cannot use it!
If you think there is something else I can do to resolve this then please let me know.
However, I have sent an email to Apple explaining what has happened.  If they have good procedures in place, they should be able to see my iTunes account(s) and the devices associated with it.  Remove the iPhone from the Apple ID that is is currently assocaited with and then I will be able to associate with the correct ID.
    It seems very straight forward!

  • HT204074 I Tunes Match on multiple devices...

I have three devices (Iphone 4S, Ipod touch and Mac Book Pro) - My child uses the i pod touch.  I have I Tunes Match.  I would like to add or remove songs etc. from the Ipod touch manually.  How can I access my I tunes library without using Itunes match on this device?  Thanks!

    Hey 111122223333,
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device. So if you have Match enabled on your child's iPod Touch, you'll want to disable it in order to manage its music using iTunes and your computer.
To disable iTunes match on your child's iPod, go to Settings > Music and make sure the iTunes Match switch is set to Off.
via: iTunes: How to add a computer or iOS device to iTunes Match

Then, to sync using your computer's iTunes libraary, you'll want to follow these directions:

  • How do I sync iTunes Library in Mac directly with IOS device if I use iTunes Match?

When I turned on Itunes Match on the iPad and iPhone, my entire iTunes Library imported from the Mac using the iTunes sync process was moved to the Cloud. However, this means that I have to download all my songs again on my iPhone and iPad. I have 6,700 classical music songs, and this would take days! Therefore, I'd like to sync the playlist in my iTunes Library in my Mac with the iPhone and iPad directly using the iTunes sync, so I do not have to download them again one by one. How do I do this?

Turn off iTunes match on the device temporarily and sync whatever you want from iTunes using the iTunes sync. When you turn iTunes match on again the synced content should be supplemented by the ability to download the remainder of your library, it should not be deleted.
