Using iTunes' purchased songs on DVD?

New Mac user here.
I read something recently that concerned me about DRM limitations on iTunes music. I make a lot of videos and slide shows. I will purchase a specific tune from iTunes just to use it in a slideshow. Can I use iTunes purchased music in a slideshow and export it to burn to a DVD?

My concern was unfounded. I misread a FAQ at the Fotomagico website. My concern would be valid only for "third-party" applications, according to the website below. Phew!
Here is the text from the FAQs pages at the Fotomagico site:
"How can I use songs purchased on the iTunes Music Store?
FotoMagico cannot include audio from songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store in an export movie, as Apple prohibits third party applications to access the sound data. We do sincerely hope that Apple eventually changes its DRM policies. You can use the songs when presenting the slideshow live in FotoMagico."

Burn the song to an audio CD and try importing from that.

  • Using itunes purchased songs on Music enabled Samsung phone

I purchased a few songs via my iTunes account and downloaded the songs to my Windows PC. My goal was to put the songs on my Sprint (Samsung) music enabled phone. When I copy the songs to my the memory card for my phone and insert the card into my phone the songs I purchased via the ITunes Music Store do not appear to show up as songs available to play on my phone. Is the transfer not allowed and the songs are locked in some manner?

Yes. Protected AAC files cannot be used on a cellphone other than an iPhone and a handful of Motorola models, and other AAC files may need to be converted to MP3 for use. All song purchases from the iTunes Store other than iTunes Plus content come as protected AAC.

  • Why can I not use my itunes purchased songs in idvd/imovie?

Upto about two months ago I had no problem adding itunes purchased songs in my idvd / imovie projects - now I cannot. A warning message comes up about needing to authorise the computer and although I am using the same mac as I did when purchasing the tracks I still go through the process of authorisation - the tracks are still not available.
I have just purchased an xbox 360 and when connecting my ipod my purchased songs are once again unavailble to play even though I can play them using my ipod in the normal way.
Any ideas would be very welcome, thanks!!

You're allowed play the music on up to 5 devices. Each device must be authorised. Unless you can connect the xbox to the apple store to be authorised, you will not be able to play the music on it.

how do i use a purchased song as ringtone on iphone 5c

Following are 2 sets of instructions on how to do it using iTunes:

    http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/create-ringtones-from-your-itunes-library -and-add-them-to-your-iphone
There are also a number of apps available. If you do an internet search for something like "iTunes ringtone maker" you should find a number of possibilities such as the following: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ringtones-for-iphone-ringtone/id380908399?mt=8  I've never used an app for that so can't give you any input on which one.

  • Can't burn itunes purchased songs onto a cd

I created a playlist consisting of previously downloaded songs (not purchased from itunes) and itunes purchased songs. When I attempted to burn a cd of the playlist, only the previously downloaded non itunes were burned into the cd. During the burning process the meter at the top of the page indicated that the itune purchases were being read, but when I played the cd on my car cd, and later on a friends cd, the itunes purchased songs weren't there. When I play the burned cd on my computer all the songs are included. I've tried slowing down the recording speed, trying both audio and data cd options with the same results. I am using cd-r cd's. Can anyone help?

  • Problem syncing non itunes purchased songs to itunes from ipad

How can I get music from my ipad NOT purchased in the itunes store to sync to my computer? iTunes won't allow non iTunes purchased mp3s to transfer.

You can only copy iTunes purchased songs back from your iPad (or other iOS device). If the songs are not already on your computer, and you havn't got a backup of your content on, for exampe, external drives or CDs/DVDs that you can copy onot your computer, then you will need to do a search on the internet to see if there are any third-party programs that can copy them back.

  • How to import iTunes purchased song into video with "Muvee autoProducer"?

Using an iTunes purchased song and also "Muvee autoProducer" for the first time and can't use my iTunes purchased song to import into my video. Following the instructions the song doesn't come up as a MUSICFILE, but it is found by selecting ALLFILES. It is an Audio file (protected). For some reason the Windows Media player symbol appears as the program to open file. I select to add it to my video and an error occurs:
"The format of the music file that you have selected is not supported."
    5(80040265).
Have I done something wrong ? Can I change the file format in some way to use ?
    Solution is greatly appreciated THANKS!

I think I have figured it out. I found Popcorn 3 and Crunch by Roxio which will do the job!
    Thanks everyone!

  • Itunes purchased song stops half way through

I recently transfered my itunes library to a new Macbook 13 inch. It was tricky to do because my library was on an external hard drive. I did have to redownload some, but not all of my purchased content. Now many of my itunes purchased songs are clipped midway through the song when played. This is only happening to songs that I purchased in itunes. Any ideas as to how to fix this problem?  Thanks!

If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (check this with iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track (and the original file) and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).  See tips on downloading in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19097773, especially unchecking the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" box in the downloads tab of iTunes.

  • HT1386 how can i get all of my music transferred to my iphone? only itunes purchased songs will transfer, not my whole library.

How can i transfer my itunes music library to my iphone? currently it will only transfer itunes purchased songs and not my whole library.

For non-purchased music like CD rip music, or website downloaded songs, you need some third party software to copy the music from iPod to mac. If you need details, here is a guide about how to get music from iPod to macbook. Hope it helps.

  • How do you get iTunes purchased songs to automatically play one after the other

How do you get iTunes purchased songs to play automatically one after the other without having to hit play for each song ? Also I lost all my pictures on my iPad when I installed iOS 7 upgrade. Any way to get them back? Thanks. Dr Ron.

    Hi Dr. Ron,
By your question, I am wondering if you are playing your music from the iTunes app rather than the Music app?
In the Music App, you can go to any of the options at the bottom and click on a song to play and it will then continue to play the songs in that category. You can also select "Shuffle" to shuffle them.
As for your Photos, did you have them backed up anywhere?
    Cheers,

  • Why does Match list the iCloud status of iTunes purchased songs as "Exceeded Limit"?

Why does Match list the iCloud status of iTunes purchased songs as "Exceeded Limit"?

because you have loaded over 25,000 songs to the icloud library.  to find out exactly what is in icloud from itunes match follow these directions to create a blank itunes library and load only the itunes match songs from icloud.
    1. You will need to know the location of your iTunes library for later, the default is under music under your username.  If its not there find it and remember where it is for later.
    2. Then you have to exit iTunes and create a new empty library. To do this hold the option key when you open iTunes.  Choose create Library on the pop up dialogue. Create the library anywhere on your system, you can delete the entire library once you have completed your iCloud changes.
    3. When the library opens in iTunes it will be empty. Click on iTunes Match and click the start button.  after it finishes all of the songs on your iCloud match account will be listed under music.
if you want to delete some or all songs from icloud so you can re-sync itunes match to show the songs in your current library fowwow this.
    4. you can select up to 1000 at a time and delete them.
    5. when you have deleted what you want, close iTunes and open again holding the option key and navigate to your original library, usually in the music folder under your username.  You should be all set and can click iTunes match again and your account will be populated with the ones in your current library.
    6. You can navigate to the temp library you created in finder and delete it as it is no longer needed.

  • Sharing a purchased song or dvd ofrom iTunes's store

Once I have purchased a song or dvd, or audio book is there any way I can make the other computes with access to my account have what I purchased instantly? Now I would like to know if this can be done without turning on the share feature on iTunes, and with out having to burn a copy and manually install it to the other computers.
    Thanks
    Juan Carlos

f I downloaded a song lets say here in FL on my PC, and I went to NY with my laptop that has Authorized audible account with my iTunes is there a way I can still get that song into my iTunes on my laptop without physically burning or moving the file from one to the other?
As Chris said, no. If you want the song on your laptop, you have to copy it there, or purchase it a second time and download it again using that laptop.
BTW, an Audible account is for audio books.
if iTunes doesn't sell DVDs what the ** did I just purchase from them???
You purchased a movie via a download service. A DVD is a physical disk and delivery format, one way movies are distributed but not the only way. Some people have purchased movies from the iTunes Store expecting a physical disk to arrive in the mail, something that will not happen.
