Using iTunes to organise apps?

I like the folder concept on my iPhone, but would love to have folders or some other means of organisation in iTunes so I could quickly load certain apps onto my iPhone. Say, for example, I have several apps all related to one activity or one interest. Is there a way in iTunes to organise these apps so that I don't need to search for them among the 1100 apps I have in iTunes?
I've tried making a folder in the iTunes library where the apps are stored, but iTunes sees neither the folder nor the apps that sit in it.
Is there currently no solution for this?

Thanks for the reply, however, unfortunately, I don't think I made my question clear enough. I am not trying to organise apps on my iPhone, I am trying to organise them in iTunes.
For example, I have several bicycle apps. However, they fall into three different "genres": sport, health and navigation. Also, I have them in several different languages, so alphabetic is also not good enough.
If I could make folders in iTunes, this would be a solution. However, I cannot see how that is possible. If I could change the order of the list, that could be a solution, but I do not see how that is possible.
Is there no way in iTunes to organise apps in an order chosen by the user?

Every time I try and use iTunes or the App Store on my iPad Mini, I keep getting the message "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". However, on my iPod Touch 4th Generation - signed into the same account - it works with no problems. Can anyone help? Thanks!

As I've already mentioned, I can't connect to iTunes or the App Store, the same message appears every time: "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store". I downloaded a few apps before I connected my iPad Mini to my Computer. I started doing an update that was about 9 or 10 hours long, somewhere around that time, and I unplugged it about halfway through the update and since then I've not been able to get onto iTunes or the App Store. I checked to see if I could continue the update but when I looked on iTunes again, no updates appeared. On my iPod Touch 4th Generation, everything works absolutely fine and it is logged into the same Apple ID. I've tried resetting my Network Settings, logging into someone else's Apple ID, connecting to a different Wifi, changing the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8, rebooting my Computer and iPad and changing the HTTP Proxy to Auto. Is there anything else I could try or am I just overlooking something? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here, thanks!

Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan.

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

Using itunes to arrange apps on phone

Has anyone tried this new feature, using itunes to arrange your apps on a virtual desktop then syncing with phone? How do you do?

As gnome said, your iPhone must be connected, iTunes open, click on the name of your iPhone under DEVICES in the far left frame, move to the right and click on the Applications tab. And you must have iTunes 9 and 3.1 OS on the iPhone.

i think it could be since amazon appstore has amazon coins that do the same:

iTunes and App Store gift cards are basically the same thing, both are redeemed onto your iTunes account and can be used to buy from the iTunes store, app store, Mac app store on Mac computers and the iBookstore - the cards that you shouldn't buy are Apple Store gift cards, they cannot be used with an iTunes account.
When you've redeemed it onto your account then your balance should show in both the iTunes and App Store apps on your iPad, and your computer's iTunes. On my iPad it shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id and at the bottom of the Music tab in the iTunes store app (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Store and it should show on the screen that you are taken to). On my computer's iTunes it shows at the top left of the store's pages next to my id, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option.
If you are trying to download a paid-for item and you don't currently have a balance or other payment method on your account then you will be taken to the payment details screen so that you can either redeem a gift card or enter one of the other payment methods.
To redeem a card onto your account you can use the Redeem button at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app, or the Music tab in the iTunes store app, on your iPad. Or you can do it via your computer's iTunes, either via the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage

Cannot use iTunes to download apps or rearrange icons

Since I updated iOS 8 on my iPhone 6 this morning, I cannot rearrange the icons on my screens, either right on the phone or in iTunes when connected with USB cord. I also cannot install apps that I previously downloaded. Anyone else having these problems? The iTunes store is supposedly functional again.

IPod Touch, 1st generation, can't use iTunes or the App Store

I have an iPod Touch running iOS 3.1.3. All of a sudden, I can no longer buy music off iTunes or apps off the App Store because the "Install" or "Buy" buttons shrink to a very small size (see attached screenshot) and do not respond when pressed. I have re-booted the iPod twice with no affect.
Has anyone else experienced this sympton?

I am trying to update 3 apps, which are over 20mb, by connecting to iTunes. My phone syncs but it does not update the apps. I checked my available for downloads option and it says it's empty. How do I get the apps to update? Thanks!

If I wanted to restore the phone without knowing the password I would absolutely have to use the computer where I pluged the iPhone for the first time ? What happens if let's say I forget my passcode, and change my computer?
I have another question if you don't mind that's not really on this precise topic but relates to it a little bit: if someday I get a new computer and trash this one. Will I still be able to connect my iPhone to it and use iTunes to put apps and songs on the iPhone etc like I do now ? How does this work exactly please?

Unable to organise Apps in iTunes

Guys, I've just installed iOS 5 on my iPhone 4. I did a clean install.
But now, when I try and organise all my Apps using iTunes - put them into Folders, move them to other pages etc - when I Apply and Sync nothing happens.
I've also tried organising them on the iPhone itself. But if I sync the organised Apps and Folders aren't transferred to iTunes.
What am I doing wrong?

Use one account for apps and other for itunes match

My question today is quite simple. I use one account for apps and tv shows, but inwant to use a different itunes account for purchasing itunes match. How can I use them both on my devices? Will it be asking for my user-pass each time i play a song? What other thing should i consider?

I would strongly recommend you not do this. You will regret it.
I have played with this issue a lot. You have to remain signed into match in order for it to show up on your phone. If you sign out to purchase an app or redownload one from your appstore id you use then match will be removed from your phone and when you go into your music app the icloud will not be there. You then have to go sign back out of the store id you used for your app purchase and then sign back into match and everything will have to go though the download to your device process again. This really is not what you want to do.
Sign up to match with the apple id that you know you will use the most or has the most purchased items and use that for all purchases, i.e. books, apps, movies, and music. You don't want to go though the other process.
Plus apple will start not letting you sign into match because you signed out and back in, in to short a period of time.
all store purchases on an iphone are linked to the store id. if you sign out of your match id on the appstore and sign into another account to purchase an app then itunes match will sign out in the music app. You can't have two store id's signed into your iphone at the same time. They are all linked together.

How do I use iTunes shar to share apps with in my household

I heard that sharing apps with in a household is ok. So I wanna co it but not sure how to do it with I tunes share. Help please

The apps that you share will be associated with your Apple ID, even if you share them with family members. So if an app needs to be updated, then you shall have to sign into your Apple ID on the computers or iOS devices which have the apps installed in order to update them.
Probably the easiest way to share the apps is to copy them from your computer to the other computers in your family and then authorize those computers with your Apple ID. You can authorize up to five (5) computers, including your own, to use your iTunes stuff. On a Mac the apps are stored at this location; ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications/ (I have no idea where they are on a Windows box!) Drag & drop the apps that you wish to share from that location onto the iTunes app on the other Macs or PCs over your LAN or other direct connection. Or copy them from that location onto a USB stick and then drag & drop them onto iTunes on the other computers. After you authorize those computers for your iTunes stuff, the apps can be synced to iOS devices. You authorize the computer to use your iTunes stuff in the computer's iTunes app's Store menu.
There are other more complicated methods of moving the apps around to share.
