Using iTunes to transfer photos from my pc to iPhone

When I use iTunes to transfer pictures from my computer to iPhone it creates 2 libraries of the same photos.  One is labeled Photo Library and the other is the name of the file that was on my computer.  they have the exact same pictures and I can't delete either of them.  Help!

"So it's not taking up twice the space? "
That is correct.
" When I hit photos on my main screen it takes me to albums and there are now 4 options:  Camera Roll, Photo Steam, Photo Library and the name of the file from my computer.  The last two have the same photos in it.  This is what Apple wants? "
Again, absolutely correct.
This is exactly as it should be.

  • HT2905 When i use itunes to transfer photos from my pc to my iphone it transfers two duplicate folders onto the phone. One called photo library the other the name of the folder i transfered. I dont want the photos on my phone twice

Hi. I hope someone can help.
I have just downloaded itunes onto my pc.
Firstly when my iphone is plugged in and i open itunes it does not have a picture/photo folder under my phone listing.
Secondly when i go to photos from the top of screen and tick sync. It asks me to select the folder i want to sync with phone which i do. I then press apply and it transfers all the photos from that folder to my phone BUT it does it twice! I end up with two folders with the same photos. One named as per folder on pc and the other named photo library. I am not able to delete either of them. If i go back to itunes and unsync it deletes them both.
I have been trying for hours now.
If i just try to do it from my pc ie right click and send to iphone it wont do it just says phone not responding or disconnected
    Any ideas?

You do NOT have duplicates.  This is how Apple handles photos.
Just as a song is in your Itunes Library and that exact same song can be accessed from a playlist, all synced photos are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos can be accessed from the album.

  • How do you use itunes to transfer pics from windows to Ipad?

How do you use itunes to transfer pics from windows to Ipad?  I went under "advanced" under itunes and found photo sharing, but when connecting my Ipad to computer, nothing happens.

With the iPad connected to your computer and with iTunes running and the iPad selected - You sync the photos within iTunes by selecting the folder from which you want to sync on your computer - while in the photos pane in iTunes.

  • Normally i use itunes to transfer files from Laptop to iphone4. Recently i am unable to see my phone in itunes library.  I uninstall and and reinstall and no improvement. When I connect my phone via cable to laptop, itune is not launching automatically.

I am unable to use itunes to tranfer appln from my laptop to Iphone 4. I uninstall and reinstalled. But still when I connect the phone to PC , itunes is not launching.

One thing you should definitely try is keeping your iPhone 4 connected via USB cable in your computer and restarting.  This should make the computer recognize that it is connected and as long as you have your iTunes set up to automatically open upon connection with your iPhone you should be all set!

  • Can I transfer photos from Aperture to the iPhone?

    Hi
Can I transfer photos from Aperture to the iPhone?
    Thanks, rob

Yes! Be sure you create Albums of any photo's you want in Aperture.
When you dock your iPhone and go to iTunes, under the "Photo's" section, you will see a drop down menu. Select "Aperture". Then your Albums will appear in the list below.
    Thanks, Scott K.

  • Transfer photos from MacBook Pro to iPhone

How do I transfer photos from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone?

    Option 1:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.
    If that fails:
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Use the option to check and repair library permissions

  • How do I transfer photos from macbook air to iphone 4s?

I have a macbook air (mid-2012) with have the new itunes version (11.0.1), and can't figure out how to transfer photos from macbook to iphone.  There is no "Photo" tab in itunes in this version, and it doesn't appear in the pulldown choices. Help!

    Connect your iDevice.
It should show in the left hand sidebar or in a button to the right of the iStore button
You should see the summary page for your device with other buttons for Music Apps etc
Check the box to enable syncing of photos.
Then either select all or choose selected playlists
When selection is made click Apply at the bottom left

  • Is there any way to use bluetooth to transfer photos from iPhone 4 to non apple devices?

I am using an Iphone 4 and wanted to understand if it is anyway possible to send photos from my Iphone to my Blackberry via bluetooth directly. It seems a pretty basic phone feature is missing.

If your luxury Mercedes didn't come with air-conditioning, no other alternative is provided by the manufacturer for keeping you cool. The iPhone has many (faster) alternative methods for sharing photos. Bluetooth is slow. It's far quicker to share a photo via multiple methods (email, file sharing apps, facebook etc.) over the internet, especially given the file size of average iPhone photos these days.
In the time you've shared just one photo, with one person within 10 metres of you, over Bluetooth, I could've shared half a dozen photos with an unlimited number of people, located anywhere in the world.
I guess you're happy using 15 year old methods of file transfer. You'll be asking for a dial-up connection to the internet next!!

  • Using iTunes to sync photos from selected albums grayed out

After I connect my iPhone 4 (running iOS 6) to my iMac, launch iTunes, select the iPhone device, then select Photos, I am unable to choose Sync Photos from iPhoto "Selected albums, Events, and Faces, and automatically include Events."  The radio button is grayed out on my primary iMac.  It is not grayed out when I connect the iPhone to my MacBook Air or to another Mac which means it is a problem specific to this one computer (running OSX 10.8.2 and the latest iPhoto and iTunes). I have looked all through the discussions and cannot find a solution to this problem. As suggested in the discussions, I've tried deleting the plists, creating a new account on the iMac and trying it there (it is grayed out there as well), re-installing iPhoto and iTunes, all to no avail. Advice welcome.  Thanks.

I provided a link in my response to the OP.  Base on your limited information, if you backup prior to restoring, then restore from your backup.

  • Cant get itunes to transfer photos or contacts to my iphone 5

backed my 4s up to itunes, but it wont back up pics and contacts

You can only do so iPhone to iPhone, by using one of the peer-to-peer apps in the app store. Both iPhones must have the app installed. Otherwise, you can't, as Michael has stated.

  • Using iPod to transfer photos

I'm using iPod to transfer photos from one Mac to another. They were uploaded from iPhoto 4.03 following directions, and downloaded to the second computer with iPhoto '08 (7.1.5) using iPod as an external drive. However only 23 photos out of hundreds downloaded. I get the message, "The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)." These files are listed:
    /Volumes/name/Photos/Thumbs
    /Volumes/name/Photos/Photo Database
I'm assuming it's the database file that's the problem, but why would some photos download and not the rest? Opening the Photos folder in the iPod icon, there are only two items. The Photo Database is shown as a Unix file. There are only six thumbs in that folder, and they are all Unix as well.
I posted this in iPod discussion, but hoped an iPhoto expert might also help me.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

What's the HD feature? I don't have the iPod synced to iPhoto in the second computer; I have it on Manually manage music and videos.
There's a possibility that it did sync in the first computer before I checked that option, but no photos uploaded until I did it manually, so it doesn't seem so. Also, the icon appeared on the desktop and that doesn't happen if it's synced, does it?
It definitely did not sync in the second one as it was already checked when I connected it.
And I keep going back to, why did some photos import and not the rest?
    Thanks for sticking with me.
