Using iTunes with Sonos, good or bad ?

Hi,
I have just purchased a Sonos speaker system and have install the Sonos app to use with my iMac.  I was just wanting to know if its a good idea to share my iTunes music library with the Sonos App?  Is the processes fairly simple or could it cause any problem with my iMac?
Thanks,
Mark.

When you set up your music library in the Sonos controller app, you simply point to the folder where your iTunes library is stored. The first choice you are given when clicking "set up my music library" (my version of the app is in Norwegian, so I'm just assuming that that is what it says) is to direct Sonos right to the Music-folder on your Mac, so unless you've stored your iTunes music somewhere else, this works fine. Sonos does the rest itself. Note that the computer whose Music-folder you point to must be running when you want to listen to music with the Sonos system.

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more.  And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should.  On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much.  I will post a note in the app store to let them know.  I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

You can transfer iTunes content from an iTunes library on a single computer only.
Since these songs were purchased with the same iTunes account, you can download the song that is not in your iTunes library on the computer you will be syncing your iPhone with. Or you can download the song or songs direct on your iPhone.

To use itunes 10.7 you need to have Snow Leopard operating system installed
    These are the system requirements
    System Requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
If you can run Snow Leopard you need to purchase it

    Hello,
check out FoneSync for Android. It syncs contacts, calendars, music and photos with your Android device and features an iTunes like interface. So it is easy to use and fast.
    Kind regards

Refer this article to reset Winsock to it's default.  Your PCTools may have inserted LSP.

After reset and restarting windows, you may get a prompt to remap LSP, click no.

  • How can I use iTunes with my Moto Q?

Can I get QuickTime for my phone? I've downloaded a video for my son, but can't play it in Windows media player. What options do I have to use iTunes with my phone?

Video purchased through the iTunes store can be played on your computer, an iPod, through AppleTV. It can't however be transferred to a Motorola Q. Sorry.

  • Using ITunes with Ipod Mini

My wife and I both have Ipod Mini's using separate Music Libraries(like it that way) . The problem is if she's logged in and iTunes is open when I switch users and log in and try to use iTunes I get a message. It saids something along the lines of iTunes is being used by another user and unable to open. When I click ok iTunes goes away. I have to have my wife logoff to use itunes with my profile. I would think under XP you can run iTunes separately.
    Thanks for the help.

    Fast user switching
You cannot use this with XP and iTunes. Disable it under start/control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on.

  • ITunes is totally frozen with multiple paints of same screen within itself. Also incredibly slow. Are there alternative players I can use with my iPhone, or must I use iTunes with my iPhone? iTunes is effectively unusably slow.

I only use it once every few weeks and each time it is more disappointing than the previous time. does it run better on a Mac than Windows? Is this app really the future of media? Really?

I am using iTunes 11.1.3 -- The most recent version. When I select something from my albums it just freezes. I have restarted it a few times with same result.

  • Using a power bank good or bad for iphone battery lifespan?

I currently use iphone 5, i see many aid product made now such as power bank,
but a question comes in my mind , is that good or bad for our battery lifespan?

Are you referring to cases with battery packs in them?
If so, most have a switch to turn the battery in the case on or off.
Having the iPhone or any phone in a battery case is neither good or bad.  It is merely a way to extend the "life" of the device between charges without the need to physically plug the device in as there is always the extra battery onboard.

  • How do I use iTunes with new iPod

I have my own video iPod, and use iTunes without a problem.
However, I bought a refurbished iPod for a relative, and am now trying to download music onto this new iPod. When I go into my iTunes with the new iPod connected to my computer, I can't get the new iPod to show up on the task bar -- so I can't download music onto it.
Do I have to create a separate account for this new iPod, or somehow download iTunes again for this new iPod in order to get music onto it???
    Thanks.

Using a second iPod is normally just a question of connecting it to your computer choosing how you want to update it and using your existing iTunes. You don't need a separate Windows account unless two users want to use the one computer and maintain separate libraries. You don't need two instances of iTunes for separate accounts. Have you had look at either of these troubleshooting pages?
iPod missing in My Computer and in iTunes
iTunes 7 for Windows doesn't recognize iPod
