Using iTunes without an internet connection

I use iTunes to sync my Outlook calendar to my iPhone at work.
Our network administrator has blocked iTunes Store access on our corporate network.
Until two days ago, this was not a problem and I could sync my calendar to my phone without issue. Two days ago I plugged my work computer (PC) into a non-corporate network to pull down and install the 3.1.3 update for my phone. The update was successful. I then attached my computer back on the corporate network which blocks iTunes Store access. Now, every time I attach my phone to the computer via USB, iTunes loads, then reports it cannot connect to the iTunes Store and will not sync with my calendar. In fact, it will not even display the Summary page in iTunes for my phone.
I uninstalled iTunes, downloaded the latest version and installed it, but the issue continues.
How can I prevent iTunes from trying to connect to iTunes Store, or even the internet. I only care about sync'ing my calendar with this specific computer.

I also heard, that it could work vie a burn folder, but I don´t know how to bounce my waveburner project in a way, that I still have single tracks. When I bounce it, I just get one very long track.

Updating iTunes without an internet connection

Hi,
I just got my iPhone, but my version of iTunes is outdated and so I can't use it with the phone. It's a long, long story, but I'm without an internet connection for a few months.
Can I just download the .exe file to a flash drive and then use that to update my current iTunes, or do I have to uninstall iTunes before I do that? Or is there another way?
Yeah, in case you haven't guessed, I'm not exactly clued up on computers so go easy, please.

Yes, you can. Download the iTunes installer on any computer that has Internet access. Then copy that installer to any removable medium - flash drive, CD/DVD etc. You can then take the installer to your computer and use it to update your copy of iTunes.

No, you don't have to uninstall iTunes before updating (at least not unless something goes wrong).
Note that there may be issues with an iPhone - registering, updating, etc. - if your computer doesn't have Internet access. I don't have an iPhone so I'm not sure.

Using Muse without an internet connection

This morning, while my internet connection was down, I was somewhat surprised – alarmed actually – that I am unable to preview a site build using Muse. Neither the Preview tab nor Preview in browser function would work. The browser preview appeared shortly after my connection was restored (I had since shut Muse down). Surely the software is able to function 100% without a constant link to Adobe?
(FWIW, while the connection was down Acrobat would stop responding after a viewing a few pages of a PDF)

There maybe something else causing your issue. You should have no problems previewing pages without an Internet connection as long as all the content is on your local machine. If you are getting some remote content such as Google Maps or perhaps if you have some content in the head section such as Google Analytics that requires a connection it may cause you to not load the page.
Just straight Muse pages stored locally on your own computer should have no problem at all.

You can lock or erase your device via Find My Phone only if it was already configured for your device ahead of time.

Can you buy the Lightroom 5 CD and activate it on your computer without an internet connection? My photography computer is not connected to the internet and I dont want to connect it.

You can buy the standalone version of Lightroom 5.0 (which is the version sold on CD at Amazon and other places) and then use Lightroom without an internet connection. The Map Module will not work without an Internet connection.
You might want to download the latest update of Lightroom, which is Lightroom 5.7.1 and use that instead of Lightroom 5.0. You could download the installer file on a different computer from Product updates and then move that file to your PC which is not connected to the Internet and then install that way.

iTunes needs an internet connection to download the update if it has not already. Then it needs to verify the update with Apple servers prior to installation.
So in short, no, you do need at least some form of internet access to update.

You are probably using an old version of iTunes with which the stream link service seems to have stopped working for many users of older iTunes. No, Apple makes no comment about this kind of thing. It may reappear, it may not (it has been dead for over a week now). Your solution is to upgrade the operating system version on your computer from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 so you can run a newer iTunes, or live without. You can still open streams if you can get the URL, and you can then save them as playlist items.

I wanted to preview the changes in a browser, but when I clicked on the Preview button (or clicked on preview in browser), I received a notification that it was checking for an Internet connection and the preview page never completed. Is there a way to use the preview in browser function in Muse without an Internet connection?

Thanks for getting back to me! When our cable modem went down, we were still connected to Airport Base Station, and perhaps it appeared to Muse that we did have an Internet connection. In any case, we have now received a new cable modem and our network is working again. As you suggested, I disconnected from the network and tried preview in Muse again, and now it seems to be working just fine. Perhaps it was just the circumstances of our network problem this morning. Good to know I can use the Muse Preview function off-line!

Rented or purchased video are watched through the videos app after you have downloaded them, iTunes on iOS devices is for buying media only.

If you want to watch on a television screen, you need an AppleTV.
In both cases...
If the movies are purchased, there is no need for an Internet connection to the outside world. If they're rented, you need an Internet connection for the first minute or so that Apple knows that you're watching the movie. I do not know if a rented movie can be stopped and restarted without an Internet connection.

How do I turn off iTunes genius without having Internet connection? When I go to the iTunes menu select store, the drop-down box has "Turn Off Genius" grayed out. I had Internet service when I started/activated my iTunes genius. But now, I stopped my Internet service and I cannot deactivate/stop the iTunes genius from trying to access the iTunes Store.
