Using javamail with dial-up connection and LAN
Hello,
I'm using javamail on Windows XP (including service pack 2). When I connect to a mail server on the network, everything is OK. When I connect to a mail server using a dial-up connection, everything is OK. But when I try to connect to a mail server for which I need the dial-up connection and I also have a network connection to my LAN, the connect to the mailserver failed. It looks like JavaMail is searching the mail server on my LAN instead of on the dial-up connection. Does anybody know if I can configure JavaMail to search on the dial-up connection? Does anybody know if this problem will also occur on systems where I have multiple network cards?

We were able to solve that problem...but now could you advice as to which DC power supply we should use (preferably avalable in India) so that it can be controlled by Labview (through a gpib/rs232/any other port) to give a square wave of desired frequency/other parameters.

I'm using Preview with a MacBook Pro and MacOS 10.6.8. When adjusting sharpness in the Adjust Colour tool, images are not saved. Any hint? Thanks.
I too experienced the same issue. Here are my details:
Recently I bought a 15” Macbook Pro and last night I tried to connect and use a Edirol FA/66 Firewire 400 connected outboard audio interface using a Firewire 400 to 800 adapter then connected to a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt adapter since the MBP doesn’t have a native Firewire port. What I observed is that the Edirol was not getting power from the bus nor did the MBP (running Yosemite) recognize the Edriol. At first I thought there was a problem with the Edirol since I haven’t used it in a while but when I connected it to an older MBP that has a native Firewire port, it worked normally. Is there a known issue with these sorts of external audio interfaces working properly with newer MBP running Yosemite? I’m hoping that a software update will fix this issue. -

I have a dial-up connection and want to install Firefox. Too slow download. I tried putting it on a flash drive on the library computer, but all I got was the installer. I have an accelerator.

Using mirroring with my apple tv and everthing shows up on the tv untill i try to watch a movie, i get the sound but no picture. I checked and both are on the same wifi?
I had this problem also. Several times in fact. And it has not been any relation with sw update (Apple TV). I managed to fix this on a strange way. I drop off WiFi in iMac and joined back. Right after thatI tried to adjust Airplay settings, but I didn't manage. Reason was that my iMac didn't found any Airplay devices (?). After about 2-3 minutes iMac recognized my Apple TV. And also audio "posting" to Apple TV started to work.
So restart your WiFi connection on your iMac or MacBook Pro - it may help.
Another hint is to use command: "sudo killall coreaudiod". More information about that: http://wwwx.cs.unc.edu/~cquammen/wp/2011/02/18/resetting-audio-on-mac-os-x/
I have not tried this, but maybe next time

Still after update to 5.0.1 same problem with the 4S with dial out, connecting to internet, echo in reception. It is the second phone.
Try deleting the account(s) you're having problems with, resetting your phone (hold on/off and home buttons simultaneously 10-15 seconds until Apple logo appears, release buttons and wait for it to restart), then add back your mail accounts. I've read that this has worked for some.

First off you need to know the model identifier of the machine, not all Mac's can be reverted to Snow Leopard and not all Mac's can use the 10.6.3 Retail disk!
To find the model identifier, boot the machine up and hold the command key and the spacebar, Spotlight appears at the top right corner and type in System Profiler and press Enter/Return.
The model identifier should be something like "MacBook Pro 9,2" or something of that nature.
You also can hold D while the computer is booting on/near a Internet connection for a long time and this loads Hardware Test, which one of the panes will give the required information.
Next you download MacTracker here and look up your machine and it's original operating system.

If you have the model identifier and the machine won't boot, then just ask here and we can tell you the information
Now all Intel Mac's issued before July 2011 can install Snow Leopard, but the Mac's released after July 2011 came with OS X 10.7 Lion and the firmware won't boot off the Snow Leopard disk. (however 10.6 can be shoehorned on using Firewire Target Disk Mode and another Mac for some models after July 2011)
Also the 10.6.3 Snow Leopard Retail Disk sold at Apple only works on Mac's that came with 10.4-10.6.2 from the factory.
Any Mac's that originally came with 10.6.3-10.6.8 from the factory need model specific disks from Apple directly, not sold at their online store, you will have to call them with your Mac's serial number and order these disks.
If you get the right disk and have the right machine, then you should be able to insert the disk and hold c down or the option/alt key and boot from the 10.6 disk.
Follow these directions and make sure to erase the ENTIRE DRIVE first in Disk Utility or you will have issues later trying to fix it from the disk.

I am considering using LastPass with Safari 6.0 and Mac OS X10.7. Preliminary due dilligence suggests various problems with loading and running the plugin with Safari 6.0 and Mac OS X which appear to be unresolved. I will greatly appreciate any user experience with LastPass on the current Mac OS and Safari platforms, as well as any suggestions (i.e., "tips") for installing and using the plugin (or another more compatible plugin). Yes, the iPad will download app updates over your iPhone's cellular data. I just tested it. I was tethered to my iPhone using Bluetooth, which I figured to make it even less likely to do so, but as soon as I turned on auto updates it started updating apps.
It's not obvious at first either. You can't see any progress bars. You will just notice the number of pending updates gradually decreasing, and in the App Store "Updates" section you will notice apps appear as updated on this date. -
I was told I could set a local network with the airport express, apple Tv, and my iPad to stream videos or pictures to a TV for a presentation.
No internet connection is available at the location.
Is that possible? Or do I need to access itunes homeshare with an internet connection to make this work?
I've set it up at home where I have an internet connection and it works fine but I want to move the setup to my church for a class. The data I'm using is stored on my ipad.

Thanks for any help!Ok so we now have a solution to the problem. A friend of mine came round to work this out with me last night and we were able to get it working, but it is not as easy as I had hoped. Fisrtly we plugged the airport express into my router using the ethernet cable (for this I am using an Airport Express Base Station") and in airport utilities selected the airport express. In edit, we then gave the airport express a new range of IP address which did not conflict with any of the other applications that I have already assigned. We also named the Airport Express with a distinguishable name. We then waited for the changes to be registered then unplugged the Airport Express from the router. I then plugged my AppleTV via HDMI into a tv to test it and selected the new wifi network with the new Airport Express distinguishable name. I was able to watch a video that I have on my ipad directly on my tv without being connected to the internet, and was able to play Airplay presentations.
No the easiest solution, and certainly not something that anyone at Apple has talked me through in my lengthy conversations with them at Applecare.

Mobile navigation using blank slide is not on top - Help
I made several mobile websites which works fine. I use blank slide and vertical menu for Menu. When I place image I have to use Arrange - Send to Back to get navi to open over the image which is correct. However, today I placed slide with images and
