Using JDriver for Oracle 8i from Weblogic server 6.1

Hi
We have solaris machine running Weblogic server 6.1 SP1 and another solaris running Oracle 8i. I have installed client libraries in machine running WLS 6.1. I have set the LD_SERVER_PATH in setEnv.sh file of weblogic. when i create coinnection pool from WLS CONSOLE and i restart it it is throwing an error

Hi,
I'm getting a native code exception which causes the Weblogic server to crash when
using XA drivers for transaction with two oracle databases. My application uses RMI
and threads.
I'm using BEA's jDriver for Oracle running under Weblogic server 6.1 sp1 talking
to Oracle 8.1.6. The OS is Solaris 2.8.
In middle of the program execution it's giving this problem. I'm using jdk131 in
solaris platform.
Any idea what's going on here ?

I'm using BEA's jDriver for Oracle running under Weblogic server 6.1sp1
talking
to Oracle 8.1.6. The OS is Solaris 2.8.
In middle of the program execution it's giving this problem. I'm
using
jdk131 in
solaris platform.
Any idea what's going on here ?

Setting isolation level with JDriver for Oracle/XA

edocs (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/oracle/trxjdbcx.html#1080746) states that,
if using jDriver for Oracle/XA you can not set the transaction isolation level
for a transaction and that 'Transactions use the transaction isolation level set
on the connection or the default transaction isolation level for the database'.
Does this mean that you shouldn't try to set it programatically (fair enough)
or that you can't set it in the weblogic deployment descriptor either? Also anybody
got any idea what the default is likely to be if you are using an Oracle 9iR2
database? Is this determined by some database setting?

however, for oracle it may not be helpful to change it. Oracle provides two
isolation levels. The default is always READ_COMMITTED. The other
setting is SERIALIZABLE, but this hurts performance, and is also problematic
in the way oracle implements it. For instance, even if you set SERIALIZABLE,
oracle will not lock read data. It will allow other transactions to read and/or
alter data trhat another ongoing SERIALIZABLE transaction has read. The
only way to really lock read data in oracle is to issue oracle-specific SQL in
your select: "SELECT ..... FOR UPDATE".
All in all, you should collect a strong case for why you can't proceed with
READ_COMMITTED first. Then you should research oracle's recommendations
(and their problem record) with SERIALIZABLE.

Weblogic jDriver for Oracle 9.0.1.4

We are using the Weblogic jDriver for Oracle oci901_8 to access the Oracle 9.0.1.
We are planning to upgrade the oracle to 9.0.1.4. Will there be any issues with
the Weblogic jDriver that is being currently used by us(oci901_8 ).
Is there Weblogic jDriver available for oracle 9.0.1.4?

The driver you have is ok to be used with oracle 9.0.1.4. Actually, you are getting
patch set for 901 database server. So, you dont need additional driver. The driver you
have is ok to work with it.

Cannot configure JDriver for Oracle

Following the instructions indicated in Setting JDriver for Oracle, I still get
the following errors :
1. Error dialog box : The procedure entry point OCILobLocatorAssign could not
be located in the dynamic link library OCI.dll.

Driver version should show as 9.2.0.6.0 it is instead showing 9.2.0.3.0.
Thanks For your Help.We ship a version of the oracle driver, which you will find in the server\lib directory, and
unless you put a different version of the driver ahead of weblogic.jar, that's the version of
the driver WLS will use. You can definitely install a later version of the oracle driver in that
directory.

Is is possible to connect to Oracle 8 using ADO? This connection string works using DAO:

Do you need an Oracle 10 database to use ADO?

How to update Data Services (ALDSP 2.5) from WebLogic Server 9.2 correctly?

I need to update some physical data service in ALDSP 2.5 on WLS 8.1 SP6 (8.1.6) via Static Mediator API from WebLogic Server 9.2 MP2 (9.2.2) application. I have reviewed the article about interoperability of ALDSP 2.5 and WLS 9 here:

Firstly, I had a problems with the interconnection between 9.2 client and ALDSP 2.5 due to some missed methods/classes. Finally, I've added the following libs to my WLS 9.2.2 pre-classpath in such an order:
MyDSPProject-ld-client.jar (built with Ant script using XmlBeans 2.0)
wlsdo.jar (from ALDSP 2.5)
xbean.jar
xqrl.jar
wlxbean.jar
ld-client.jar (from ALDSP 2.5)
I do the update in the way shown in attached java file.
After submit method call, I've got two copies of a new item added in the DB and also an exception that is shown in attached log-file.
What is the possible cause of this issue?
I use MySQL DBMS version 5.0.45.
I've also tried MS SQL 2005 but it simply had the same results.
DSP audit log is also attached.

The problem is that your client is WLS server, and WLS server has network class loading disable (for security), and the result from the call requires a class that is not on the client. The call succeeds, but the the network class load for the result fails, and the WLS 9.2 framework (incorrectly) retries the call (and you get either a duplicate key exception or a second row inserted). Putting the server jar in the client classpath solves the problem.
If you wanted more information or help, you can contact BEA Customer Support and tell them it is regarding the CR I mentioned.

Hi,
You need to set ORACLE_HOME environment variable correctly.
Also make sure that there is an entry in tnsnames.ora that
defines the server name provided in the connection pool
definition.

If each user in your system corresponds to an active session,
you can get a count of all the active session MBeans and that
will be your user count. I have used code like this:

but i dont want to download & install Weblogic Server 9.2.
Is thereany way i can get only the .jar file?

We are having this problem as well. I e-mailed BEA support, but they just said we needed to include the jar in the EAR (this is all supposed to be assembled automatically by the workshop).
For us the issue seems to be the files not being put into the EAR automatically as they are with other types of projects. If we have to manually copy/jar up our class files then we might as well just use notepad and some batch files and skip BEA altogether.

Could you please kindly help me?
I am using TOAD FOR ORACLE to export a table to flat file A. The tool just supports to distinguish fields by "spaces".
And the web page of ORACLE DATABASE 10G EXPRESS to import the data from flat file A to another database. To load data to a table from a text file, the web page bases on "comma" to distinguish fields.
So could you have any suggestion for me? I need to export data via TOAD FOR ORACLE. And then import it to another database by the home page of ORACLE DATABASE 10G EXPRESS or sqlplus.

Dont use TOAD for exporting your data. Use PL/SQL. Below is the code given in Asktom.com that does what you want.
