  • Error while running WDJ application using jxl.jar

    Hi Experts,
    I am using jxl.jar in my webdynpro java application in CE7.2. I added jxl.jar in java build path and place the jar file in lib directory of webdynpro DC. It shows error in development configuration perspective while building, then i created another DC of type ExternalLibrary and added jxl.jar in libraries folder, then i right click on that jar and published as archive. Then in Development configuration perspective i added ExternalLibrary project to my webdynpro DC, it doen't shows error while building.
    I deployed successfully, when i run the application, it shows the following error. Is there any fault in adding external jar to mt DC? i can't understand where the problem is?

    Hi Pradeep,
    Have you created both compilation and assembly public parts for your Ext Lib, and have you added them both to your Used DC's list?
    Also remember, since you are using an assembly public part, the 'Create Archive' and 'Deploy new archive and run' should not be used!
    Use the DC Build and DC Deploy instead.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi
    Only one thing u missed that instead of Publishing as file you have to publish it as archive.

  • Error using JXL api in a KM Report

    Hi Expert,
    My report have to use JXL api. I have already a DC containing libraries, including JXL 2.6.2.
    I declare my DC in Used DC of my report, but each time I launch it it throws me this error :

    Obviously needed are the added jar, I think the problem is the XML parser that uses Oracle Weblogic.
    I did a Test Case jsf libraries leaving only 2.0, 1.2 and jars jslt to jxls and error is the same, do not pass this in a tomcat.
    Any idea?
    Regards, Marcelo

    I even put the libraries in the WEB-INF/lib and the error remains the
    same.
    The packaged libraries are not found by the WebLogic server runtime.
    Add the jxls JAR file(s) to the +\\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic+ script's
    CLASSPATH variable and restart WebLogic server.

  • Use Custom Jar in Enterprise OBPM

    Hi,
    We are using a JXL.jar(by importing the jar as an external resource) to create excel sheet. It is working correctly in the studio, but when we deploy it into the enterprise environment we get the below error:
    Caused by: The task could not be successfully executed.
    Reason: 'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jxl/Workbook'.
    Caused by: jxl/Workbook
    Can anybody let me know if there is something that needs to be done on the enterprise end to make this work?
    Thanks.

    Dan, Bitu,
    I'm working with the original poster. The "'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jxl/Workbook'" error is observed (only) on our install of OBPM 10.3.1 Enterprise on WebLogic.
    I do understand we can "force" the .jar to be loaded from WebLogic (thank you to Bitu's post on this thread, and also confirmed her java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError in OBPM sever ). However, that is not the ideal situation and we would like to troubleshoot at the OBPM level (why isn't the .jar loaded?)
    Can you share with us what should normally happened when a .jar is deployed to the engine please? Should we expect an entry in the Directory (FUEGO_CATALOGJAR)? -- Because I currently don't see any JXL entry on this table.
    I also observed that the versions 2.6.12 and 2.6.11 of the JXL api (that can be found here http://sourceforge.net/projects/jexcelapi/files/) cannot be introspected in Studio (throwing an error; I can share more details if needed), so we are using an older version. Can that be related perhaps?

    Thanks a lot for the reply.
    I had both jxl.jar and xlrd.jar in the classpath and xlrd.jar was loaded before jxl.jar.
    There is a conflicting common.Assert.class file in xlrd.jar and there is no verify method in it.
    That was creating the problem. I loaded the jxl.jar file before the xlrd.jar and it is working fine.
    Thanks a lot for the help!!! :)

  • Everytime need to add jxl.jar before rebuilding the project

    Hello,
    Everytime I have to add jxl.jar in the workspace before rebuilding the project as its path is lost.
    Is there any way out to resolve this problem??
    Thanks n Regards,
    Mandeep

    hi..
    If you want to add external jar files ...
    and If your WD components are in DCs then you may simply solve the problem by creating External Library DCs and as usual, create a public part out of it and add to the dependencies of your WD DC.
    Follow the following steps  to create an External library and adding it to your dependent DC
         1)Go to File->New->Developmentcomponent
         2)In Window opened select Mycomponents and click Next
         3)In the Window opened Give Name(for example ExcelLib) for                                                external library    and select Type as External Library
         4)Click on Finish
    The  External Library  created is visible in Navigator perspective but not in WebDynpro Explorer perspective
         5)In the folder libraries of the externallibrary(ExcelLib) you paste the jar  file (jxl.jar).
         6)Right Click on the jarfile that you have added in the libraries folder of the  External Library ,go to Developcomponent -
    >add to public part
    7)In the widow opened give the some name  for puplic part and say ok
    8)Now Right click on the ExternaleLibrary ,Goto DevelopmentComponent --->build
    After build is completed this External Library Dc can be used by other DC As
    Used WebDynpro Components ..where the jar file features ca be accessed

  • Using a JAR file as a project file

    My application allows the user to create projects. Previously, a project file was simply an XML file. Now, a project file needs to also contain many images.
    I thought it would be a good idea to simply use a JAR file as my project file.
    Since I've really never really worked with JAR files and the java.util.Jar package directly, I have a few questions.
    1) Would it be better just to simply store the images as binary in the XML file? I just spent a good amount of time making the XML file very readable so I thought it would be better to keep the images separate while still having a single "project" file.
    2) Is there anything inherently wrong with the way I'm working with the JAR file in the code below?
    Simple XML file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE project [
      <!ELEMENT project (img+)>
      <!ELEMENT img EMPTY>
      <!ATTLIST img src CDATA #REQUIRED>
    ]>
    <project>
         <img src="blah.jpg"/>
    </project>
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.jar.JarFile;
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import org.xml.sax.*;
    import org.xml.sax.helpers.DefaultHandler;
    public class LoaderTest {
        private String imageName;
        public LoaderTest() {
            InputStream i = null;
            JarFile jf = null;
            try {
                jf = new JarFile("project.jar");
                i = jf.getInputStream(jf.getJarEntry("project.xml"));
                // Here's my simple XML parser to load the project and images
                SAXParser parser = SAXParserFactory.newInstance().newSAXParser();
                parser.parse(new InputSource(i), new DefaultHandler() {
                    @Override
                    public void startElement(String uri, String localName, String qName, Attributes attributes) throws SAXException {
                        // Right now we only care about images
                        if (qName.equalsIgnoreCase("img")) {
                            imageName = attributes.getValue("src");
                // Load the image from the inputstream
                java.awt.image.BufferedImage img = javax.imageio.ImageIO.read(jf.getInputStream(jf.getJarEntry(imageName)));
                // Display the image in a JFrame
                javax.swing.JFrame f = new javax.swing.JFrame();
                f.setLayout(new java.awt.BorderLayout());
                f.setSize(800, 600);
                f.getContentPane().add(new javax.swing.JLabel(new javax.swing.ImageIcon(img)), java.awt.BorderLayout.CENTER);
                f.setDefaultCloseOperation(javax.swing.JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
                f.setVisible(true);
            } catch (ParserConfigurationException ex) {
                ex.printStackTrace();
            } catch (SAXException ex) {
                ex.printStackTrace();
            } catch (IOException ex) {
                ex.printStackTrace();
            } finally {
                // Do our best to close the input streams
                if (i != null) {
                    try {
                        i.close();
                    } catch (IOException ex) {}
                if (jf != null) {
                    try {
                        jf.close();
                    } catch (IOException ex) {}
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            new LoaderTest();
    }Thank you!

    1) I also think it's much better to keep your images separate from your XML, this prevents a lot of in case you just want to read XML data
    2) What's exactly going wrong here? For the project.xml, make sure it's not inside a directory within the JAR file, or else the variable i will be null. Otherwise it looks fine..

  • Can I use axis.jar in my custom component

    Can I use axis.jar in my custom component.
    Is there any license need to user this jar ??
    Thanks

    In our UCM setup axis has been implemented in a custom component to consume webservices. As Axis falls under the Apache license you can freely import it in your custom java classes.

  • How to use a jar from a external library DC Project?

    I followed the steps of how to create DC, External Library Project, which contains the jar I want.
    I understood that this type of project can't be deployed so I build and deployed other DC Project from the type J2EE server component Library and added it to it's public part. What do I do next, to actually use the jar and it's imports?

    We are facing following issue. Any recommendations to resolve these issues are highly appreciated.
    1. Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system (More details at the end of mail).This is high priority requirement as we have a web based reporting application and users access it over our static IP address.
    We are using Java Fx charts in our web application where we built jnlp and jar files in a separate fx project and kept jar and jnlp’s inside our web project.
    It is working fine when we did not used any external jar files and remotely it is accessible. But when we used external jars our project is running on local

    I have checked the server logs and the server is able to receive the request from the client and fetching the required details.
    I am sending these details to the client by adding to a Vector.
    I have observed one more thing, the same is working in other machine which is in another network.
    I have also tried with the other wl*.jar s but giving different exceptions.
    My server classpath consists of weblogic.jar.
    Do I have to include the client jars in my server classpath?
    Please suggest me how to resolve this.
    Please help me here :)

    Thanks for your time, :)
    I have tried all the three wl*client jars, but no use. :(
    Got the same error for wlclient.jar and wlfullclient.jar.
    And for wlt3client.jar I got some different error which is very strange...

  • NoClassDefFoundError : when I am using MDM jar file

    Hi All,
    In my Webdynpro Java application, I need to acces the MDM Data. i have to use these jars,
    mdm-data.jar
    mdm-protocol.jar
    mdm-admin.jar
    mdm-common.jar
    mdm-core.jar
    MDM4J.jar
    and i getting this Error, while deploying the application to server.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/mdm/net/ConnectionAccessor
    I guess, the reason may be that I dont have these above JARs in the server.
    Please give me a solution as soon as possible.
    Thanks,
    Boopathi.

    Dear Bhoopathi,
    You are getting classnotfound exception because, the external jar file you are using is available only at designtime (ie. Only in NWDS), and not available for runtime (ie. in J2ee server). To make it available in runtime, you have to deploy the jar file to J2ee server, so that the classes available in jar file will be available at runtime also.
    If the project is a simple webdynpro project, then, copy the jar file in to lib folder of the project and add the jar file in build path of the project. When this project is deployed, the jar file will also be available along with project. But, this jar file will be available only for this webdynpro project.
    If the project is a dc project, you have to deploy this jar file as a separate dc, and refer this dc in you dc project.
    Since jar file cannot be deployed directly, we have to bundle this jar to ear file,as a library.Once this library dc is deployed, you can use the same library dc in other dc projects also.
    For deploying external jar to J2ee engine, refer this link
