Using K7T266 Pro2, Where is the BIOS Protection?

I am using K7T266 Pro2 (MS-6380 v2.0) with BIOS update 3.70. I was reading the manual and suddenly I found a interesting function “BIOS Protection”, quote from manual:
Quote
This function protects the BIOS from accidental corruption by unauthorized users or computer viruses. When enabled, the BIOS’ data cannot be changed when attempting to update the BIOS with a Flash utility. To successfully update the BIOS, you’ll need to disable this Flash BIOS
This is a really useful function but the problem is that I cannot find it! According to the manual it should be in the Advanced Chipset Features section, below the “PCI Delay Transaction” function. But when I go to my BIOS setup there is nothing below the “PCI Delay Transaction” function. And so I ask my self “where is the BIOS Protection feature?”, I checked threw all the other sections but I could not find it… Please help me, where is this function? Doesn't it include in the new BIOS update 3.70? Is anyone experiencing the same problem?

But why haven't they included the BIOS protection feature in the newer updates? It's not like it would demand more programming becouse it already works for ther older BIOS version. And the feature is really great for protection agains BIOS killing viruses! so whats the harm of including a great feature that already includes in the older version? I guess that many don't have the answer, but If you don't do you have any suggestions of why MSI didn't include this feature in the newer BIOS version?

I'm assuming that by this you mean it does not support a network boot?
The reason why I say this is that I recently restored my K7T266 PRO2-RU BIOS Rev. 3.7 using Symantec Ghost Corp. Edition (MultiCast Server).  The Ghost image was stored on a remote machine, all that was needed was a floppy disk which was simple enough to configure using the wizard.  I had no problems -  BUT that doesn't mean the thing (my motherboard) isn't flakey as hell though.

  • I'm trying to use Dictation.  Where does the text go, and how can I retrieve it?  Thank you.

I'm trying to use Dictation.  Where does the text go, and how can I retrieve it?  Thank you.

You dictate after you open a blank page in any text editor. The text goes on the page.
You can use Text Edit for example (in your applications folder).
With the blank page open, go to the Edit menu and select Start Dictation. When you are finished, you save the file as you would any other document. You can retrieve it, edit it or anything else you want, because it is a file like any other you create with that text editor.

  • Where is the bios chip located in the Equium A210-1C4?

Have replacement bios chip for this model, but not sure where the bios chip is located on the motherboard?
    Any assistance appreciated.

The BIOS chip is soldered onto the mainboard, you just can't replace it. It also needs to be programmed before usage using a special EPROM machine..

  • Where is the BIOS setup? - Satellite Pro 490XCDT

my wife has a pre-historic notebook 490XCDT and yesterday she came home with a brand new WLAN card
    >> please, best husband of the world, install this <<
she said, and now its me who struggels for hours with this sh...notebook :/
it might help if I could get into BIOS settings, but when I press ESC during power on, this model just say:
    >> check system and press F1 <<
If I do so, the "system" boots (WIN98) and no BIOS setup is available
what can I do? (exept recycling, devorce, etc...)

    Hi
I agree with you. This unit is pretty old.
Are you sure that your wireless LAN card is compatible with your unit?
Which card did you use? minPCI or PCMCIA WLan?
You have suggested that your unit is preinstalled with Win 98 OS. Well, Im sure that you need also a right driver.
As far as I know the ESC is a right button to enter the BIOS but check other possibilities; F2 or F12.

I'm not quite sure on that MB as I don't have a picture of it but on the boards I have seen it is near the lower left corner. It has an AMI BIOS so look for a chip that has somthing like that printed on i.t
    Picture of K9AGM2-L:
I think it using a new BIOS chip, maybe FLASH chip.

  • FSG using Report Manger - Where are the reports stored?

I am able to configure the FSG in GL, and use Report Manager to produce PDF/Excel output.
Where are these reports physically stored? Are they in a database or in a file system? If so, what is the location?
    Thanks.

    hi,
Starting 11i, the reports are stored in table FND_LOBS and some relevant Entries are made in the FND_DOCUMENTS_TL table.
The packages used for storing and retrieving the reports are FND_DOCUMENTS_PKG and ADI_DISPLAY_REPORT.
RG_REPORT_REQUEST_LOBS stores the XML output associated with each Financial Statement Generator request that is run in XML mode.
The XML output is used for drilldown purposes.

  • Where is the BIOS chip located on MSI B75A-G41

I need to replace the bios-chip on  MSI B75A-G41. Anyone know where the chip is located?

I thought the BIOS would be the chip with the red dot on it like on other MSI MBs.

  • Why am I asked for a password when trying to use about;config, where is the password set and can I change/delete this?

I tried to use about:config, but I was asked for a password. I don't remember entering a password and have never used the master password function. Where has this come from, and how can I change the password or get rid of the need for a password?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Downloading using Snow Leopard-Where does the DL reside?

I have been using leopard along with third-party "Speed Download" without difficulty. When I switched to Snow Leopard each download began with a Safari screen turning totally gray(blank!) while the address bar showed progress of the download through completion... , then returned to a normal Safari blank screen. Using Spotlight, there is no sign of where the download went! Suggestions welcomed!

Same problem sys 10.6.8. with safari 5.1.  I know where my downloads are supposed to go but the screen goes dark and the download appears to goes to completion and the download stalls. Firefox downloads the same file perfectly??

I have a Satellite P300 Q01 - there have been two BIOS updates since I bought it W360 and W390.

  • Good grief... my email program PostBox is now using Chrome as its default browser. I want to use FireFox. Where is the setting that I have to change?

All I want to do is make FireFox my default browser for everything. Right now the email program is using Chrome, it didn't use to do this. It used to be FireFox and I want it back...

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

  • Learning to use a Mac- where are the video tutorials?

I am an old PC user, converting to this sleek machine after loving my iphone. but I am really struggling to understand all the new conventions, keystrokes, and shortcuts. I can't even really understand safari- there is no "web address" window at the top, so I go to google for everything.
Are there not video tutorials somewhere on my machine? reading the articles is hard to do if I don't see the interface.

  • Using domain templates (where's the run scripts step?)

    Hello,
    I'm using 9.2.1 for ALSB.
I have manually created an ALSBdomain. I want to create a similar domain on a different server, every setting is the same except the username for the datasource.
I used config_builder.sh to create a jar template from the first ALSB domain. I then copied the jar to the other server and used it with the domain creation wizard. (config.sh) Everything behaved exactly the way I expected. All the settings were the same, and I only had to change the username for the datasource.
However, there is one problem, the runscripts phase is missing. I even went and found the scripts "reporting_runtime_drop.sql" and "reporting_runtime.sql" and added them during template creation. Interestingly enough they did not show up in any run scripts phase.
Also, I took a look at the jar contents and the sql files I added in the add sql phase were not contained in the jar.
Am I looking at this the wrong way? Is there any way to associate the sql I want to run in a template after the datasources are configured? or is this a limitation of templates, and I must manually log into the database and set things up?

Q005, I am not certain that I fully understand your question.  However, here is the "Motherboard Specifications" page for the computer.  At the bottom of the page is a Motherboard layout.  It shows the connectors at the rear of the case.  You will use # 4-LAN to connect your computer by wire to the router.  I have had several computers connected in this way.

  • How to move recovery partition to sd and where are the bios upates?

    Hi,
Im a newbie. Firstly how do I move the recovery partition to my micro sd? Secondly, when I try to find support drivers, bios updates etc, the encore doesn't appear as an option, it only list notebooks!
    Tia
    Olly

I need some help with this also. The Toshiba utility Create Recovery Media won't back the recovery partition up to an SD card. It wants a USB drive. Why in the world would a tablet back up to a USB device when it only has an SD card?. I've seen some extremely laborious processes to create another kind of recovery partition. I'm out of space on my 32GB Encore and I need to get the recovery partition off of the C: drive. Help anyone...??? Thanks!
