Using Keyboard or Mouse in LabView RealTime

Hi,
I would like to know whether keyboard or mouse can be used as input in LabView RealTime. If yes, can anyone explain me how to get the input coming from the keyboard or mouse?
Thanks

Hi e_Rik,
Could you explain what you are trying to do a little further?  Currently the only real-time targets that can have a keyboard or mouse plugged into them is a PXI chassis or a desktop ETS system.
The following links also touch on the subject as well.

I double checked and currently there are no keyboard or mouse VIs that work on real-time targets.  You may be able to get around this by finding a serial keyboard and mouse and using VISA calls.  Hope that helps clarify, and have a good day.

I AM USING KEYBOARD WITH NO MOUSE AND LETTER "H" NOT WORKING
DOES SOMEONE KNOWS WHAT CAN BE DONE.
    THANK YOU

I saw this issue before where cause was a bad preference for another application.
When I had the "can't type Shift H" problem in Entourage, it was a corrupt preference for FlightCheck, a preflighting program I use in conjuction with QuarkXPress that was the culprit.
First determine if the problem is in your User’s folder by creating a new User in System Preferences and test for the problem there. If it goes away then you know the problem is in your User’s folder.
Use new User to test for problems

  • Can we use keyboard and mouse together with Ipad3

Actually i have ipad3. i want use it like a laptop. can u guide me that can we use the keyboard and mouse both together with Ipad..... kindly reply at the earliest....

An iPad doesn't support the use of a mouse. Is your keyboard Bluetooth - if it is then you should be able to pair to it via Settings > Bluetooth

  • Using keyboard to control inputs into realtime VI

    Hi,
I have a vi which runs on my compactRIO and controls the balancing of a robot. The robot balances pretty well but it would be nice to move it around. I have two slider control linked to the motor outputs of the control system so i can simply add or subtract a voltage from the motors so they move in a certain direction and hence move it around.
However sliding the vertical slider is not ideal especially when you need to move both motors at the same time to get it to move diagonally for example. Is it possible to use the keys on my laptop (which is hooked up to the compactRIO) to add small values to the controls on the front panels. So for example i could press the up key and it would add 0.01 to the vertical slider and hence add a little voltage to the motor when it ran through the VI. This would make controlling it a lot easier and also good for it's intended use as a demonstrator for uni classes as they could just intuitively use the keyboard to control it rather than having to know all about labview.
    Thanks,
    Sam

The attached uses the left and right cursor keys to change a value. Adapt as required.

  • G510 Can´t use keyboard and mouse at the same time

I got my y50-70 laptop four days ago for gaming and when i played portal for the first time i noticed I had a really hard time playing it. It wasn't until I was at Glados that I realized that it was because my laptop wouldn't recognize my finger movements while i was using the keys.
Ive been researching this for the past day and can't find the solution, and I believe its because my settings seem to be different? Ive looked at multiple solutions and everything says to turn palm checking off, but I dont have that option? I can turn it down, just not off (it does nothing btw). I was wondering if anyone else has found the solution to this problem yet and came here.
It would really help if you had pictures so I can figure out where to go in settings (a lot of the things Ive read has told me to go to a certain settings tab that I cant find??. Thank you so much btw!

Update: I clicked around and somehow disabled elan. My problem is solved but I no longer have two finger scrolling (my favorite feature). If you're looking for a solution to this problem and dont care about zooming, scroling, ect, what I think I did to disable it was rolled my driver for my mouse back. To get there just search for device manager, click on the one that says something about mouse, and go to the driver tab.
If you have another suggestion please suggest it!!! I can live without two finger scroll, but would like to have it :/

  • Select multiple tabs using keyboard and mouse

Simply put, I used to be able to select multiple tabs byt haveing one selected, holding down the Ctrl + Shift keys, and then clicking on the last tab I wanted to be added to the selection.
That function seems to have disappeared, is there any way to recover it?

    Hi 1031982!
Were you using the Multiple Tab Handler add-on? If so, it seems it's not yet fully compatible with the latest version of Firefox (you can check some of the comments here on the add-ons page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multiple-tab-handler/ ).

  • Imac 20" keyboard and mouse not working

Friend has a 20″ imac 2007 usb ports don’t seem to be working can’t use keyboard or mouse, anyone any idea how to get into the system to use a hardware test disc or install disc
Power seems to be going to the mouse as the red light emits from the bottom.

has anyone resolved this problem? I haven't been able to get my usb ports to work on my 2007 24" imac. it suddenly stopped responding to keyboard and mouse. during bootup, i can use the keyboard to select boot volume and/or target mode. keyboard and other usb peripherals work fine on other computers. so this indicates that the keyboard is ok, the usb port themselves are ok, but something happens during bootup that causes the computer to stop listening to the usb ports.
i've tried the smc and pram reset procedures with no luck.

  • Using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Windows Tablet without a keyboard and mouse

Using Photoshop CC 2014 on a Windows Tablet without a keyboard and mouse can be quite a challenge. Even if you use the experimental 2x UI. You can not use your fingers or to quickly change tools and change settings. You have no shortcut without popping up Windows touch keyboard or leave it up taking a great deal of screen space.  If you're using the 2x UI Photoshop uses the screen at half resolution so it displays 1/4 the amount of pixels it could.
Fortunately I found a little touchkey utility on the web the lets you design your own touch keyboards. The can be transparent and you can even paint under them as long as you start the stroke  outside the keyboard area. The keyboards can be toggles on and off so you can actually use Photoshop.  The utility is small and requires not installation can be run form anywhere.  I purchased a Surface Pro 3 a week ago.  Its a full fledge PC.  Through the home group I can access all machines in my house and using network shares I can access all files on my machines and the network drive on my router,  I can print on my Epson 4800 printer. I can show slideshow on my HDTV via   Bluetooth using a Microsoft wireless display adapter.   I can plug in my Wacom Intuos Pro wireless receiver into the USB  3 port and use my Wacom tablet.  Have a very touchy machine.  Touch on the keyboard touch pad touch on the Display display and on the Wacom tablet.  Could have touch on a mouse but I prefer the Microsoft comfort bluetooth mouse that has six buttons and a four way wheel.
As a tablet its under two pounds.  Its quite impressive cost why mor the an iPad but worth the cost to me for with windows I can get at the file system.   If you have a Surface Pro 3 you should check out  "Touchkey" its handy.

Do a screen screen capture and post it here so we can see what you stating about a white layout...

  • Early 2009 MacBook Air. On startup no keyboard or mouse me to login. Neither is the USB working so I cannot use an external mouse or keyboard either.

Early 2009 MacBook Air. On startup no keyboard or mouse me to login. Neither is the USB working so I cannot use an external mouse or keyboard either. If I keep restarting the machine suddenly sometime I get mouse and keyboard control and I am able to login and work. After sometime though mouse and keyboard Control is lost again and the machine hangs.
Lately another problem has cropped up. Now the machine starts up and seems to work for longer time but I have no 0 key and USB everything else is fine.
    What could be the issue

    1. Reset PRAM.  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405

  • I've connected my macbook pro (os 10.6.8) to an external display, but it will not go into clam shell mode!  When I close the lid the laptop goes to sleep, and I am unable to wake it using the external keyboard or mouse.

A rundown of what I've tried:
Adjusting energy settings to try to prevent sleep
Pluging the USB keyboard and wacom tablet directly into the laptop (as opposed to a usb hub)
My laptop's power cable is connected
My display (a Vizio TV) is recognized in the System Preferences panel
I'd been using this TV for about a year with my older Macbook Pro (OS 10.5.8), though using a different wireless keyboard and mouse
***Update:  The issue seems to lie with the keyboard and wacom tablet.  I am trying to use a wireless Case Logic keyboard (with dongal) and wired wacom tablet to wake the Macbook Pro in clamshell mode.  To experiment, I tried using my Logitech wireless keyboard & mouse set (also dongal) that I had been using before and it wakes the computer without any problems!  However, I really need to be able to use my wacom tablet.  If I switch to the tablet after waking the computer using the Logitech keyboard & mouse it works, but once the computer sleeps it won't work anymore.  I could keep switching back and forth I suppose, but it's sort of a pain.  There has to be an easier way!  Any ideas why the wired wacom tablet is unable to wake the computer in clamshell mode?
    Thanks!

So your keyboard or mouse won't wake the Mac when you close the lid correct? Try resetting the SMC and pram
    Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
    Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

    I'd stick with IOGear.

    Hi champrider,
You can use an application such as Apple Remote Desktop to control your iMac remotely. See this article -

  • Macbook Pro keyboard and track pad freezes after a day or two of using bluetooth Magic Mouse

The first time this happened I thought my 3 y/old 17" Macbook Pro had died. The mouse cursor had frozen to the top left of the screen and the keyboard was also frozen and no matter what I did it didnt unfreeze. Even restarting. I searched extensively online and the only solution offered was to re install the system software.
The next day I took it into work, opened it ip there and the cursor and keyboard was working again.
This led me to believe there was a conflict with my recently purchased Magic Mouse and/or bluetooth.  Even though I had been using the mouse for well over 3 weeks with no problem.
I resumed using the Magic Mouse with the computer for another week and then the keyboard/trackpad froze again. The Magic Mouse remained active.  This time, I took the batteries out of the mouse and took the computer downstairs. After a couple of hours everything is working fine again.
Has anyone had this experience and knows how to fix? Or am I resigned to using a wired mouse?

I have never encountered anything similar. However, try resetting the PRAM and SMC.
