Using Keynote Remote via Bluetooth - iPhone 4S + iPad 2

I have used Keynote remote quick happily on my old 3GS. Now I need to use Keynote remote on my iPhone 4S to control a Keynote presentation on my iPad.
WiFi is not an option, so I need to use Bluetooth.
Both devices are up to date and running iOS6
Activating iPad Bluetooth in settings, devices (eg Macbook, Apple keyboard) other than the iPhone appear on the iPad.
Activating Blutooth in settings on the iPhone discovers nothing. It is as if Bluetooth is not activating. The MacBook can't find the iPhone either.
I have rebooted both devices several times.
I have also tried to activate the pairing within Keynote remote - which just says no connection is available and says both devices must have bluetooth turned on.
So.
Am I being stupid here?
Or has Apple screwed up letting their very expensive and overpriced devices communicate with each other?

Hey I was having trouble with this too. I got it to work for me. I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 5. The fix for me was simple. Turn off WiFi for both your iPad and your iPhone. Turn on Bluetooth for both your iPad and your iPhone. Then KeyNote > Tools > Advanced > Remote. You don't have to do anything just have your Phone Remote app running and the bluetooh enabled when you hit remote on your iPad. They should find each other.
I've had to do this each time I use this function. There should we a way that you can just choose to use Bluetooth.

I use Keynote Remote with my iPhone 5 to MacBook Air. WiFi works well but Bluetooth doesn't work at all. How to solve this problem.

    Here's Apple's instructions:
    Using Keynote Remote with Bluetooth
When a Wi-Fi connection is unavailable you can use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth to control your Keynote slideshow from one iOS device to another (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch). However, slides may take longer to appear on Keynote Remote when connected via Bluetooth. You cannot use Keynote Remote via Bluetooth with a Mac. The following steps use Keynote Remote on an iPhone to control a Keynote presentation on an iPad via Bluetooth.
iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
iPad: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
    iPad: Open a Keynote presentation.
iPhone: Open the Keynote Remote app. If you have previously paired your iPhone or iPad, you can immediately begin to control your slideshow from your iPhone by tapping Play Slideshow. If this is the first time pairing with these iOS devices, refer to the steps in "Linking Keynote Remote to Another iOS Device," above.
Note: If your iPhone displays the message "No connection available. Both devices must be connected to a Wi-Fi network or have Bluetooth turned on," continue with the steps above because you may still be able to use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth

  • HT204378 2 iOS8.1.1 devices can't connect via BT "Using Keynote Remote with Bluetooth" - HT6112

I'm unable to get to iOS devices to connect via Bluetooth for Keynote control.  It's described above under the heading "Using Keynote Remote with Bluetooth".  Am I missing something?  I see the article mentions iOS8 so I know it's been updated recently.   I also see that this hasn't worked in the past.  Curious that the articles suggests it can be done now.
    I have 3 iOS devices all 8.1.1.

Just talked to Bose and learned the solution.
Reset the speaker ....hold down the bluetooth button until you hear a tone. Delete the Bose in the Bluetooth Device directory on the iPad. When it is automatically rediscovered it will connect.
    Worked for me .....

  • Using Keynote remotely via a WebConference

Does anyone know of a process in which one can create a Keynote that is presented live in front of an audience, along with being filmed during the presentation and allow remote users to view both the video of the presenter and the live Keynote screens? Very similar to the Apple webcasts of Job's keynotes.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot play slideshow using Keynote Remote on iPhone

I have purchased Keynote Remote and installed on iPhone 3GS (v3.1.2), the app connects to MacBook Pro no problem, however I cannot 'Play Slideshow' - Just get the screen 'Could not play slideshow. Make sure a slideshow is playing on your computer.' But still doesn't run, even when I have KeyNote running on MacBook and a SlideShow open as required.
Have tried rebooting both devices, I have also removed the App from the iPhone, deleted it from MacBook and then downloaded and installed it again...
    Any ideas please...

  • How do I connect Keynote Remote via Blue Tooth NOT a WiFi network

Being a novice, at best, "What are the "steps" to connect Keynote Remote, via BlueTooth  MacBook Pro and I-Pad

    Thank you for the reply.
ctrl B makes the top bar (File. Edit. View. Controls. Store. Help.) appear and disappear.
ctrl S makes a side bar appear on the left side of iTunes. It shows the library which has Music. Movies. TV Shows. Apps. Playlists. Ect.
When I did the steps you suggested, my iPhone did not show up in that list.
I checked my firewall settings again, and they seem to be okay. My firewall is the only thing that I am not 100% sure of. If I go to Control Pannel>System and Security>Windows Firewall>Allow an app through Windows Firewall. It shows that iTunes is allowed. I'm not sure if something else might need to be allowed as well though. I have a few Remote options that are not allowed such as, Remote Event Log Management, Remote Scheduled Tasks Management, Remote Shutdown, Remote Volume Management, and Routing and Remote Access. I'm not sure if any of these need to be allowed or not, or if they are even affiliated with iTunes.

  • I have keynotes on my iPad2 and keynotes remote on my iPhone 3GS and I have them both connected to the Bluetooth but my iPad states that there's no connection between them how do I fix this

I have keynotes on my iPad2 and keynotes remote on my iPhone 3GS and I have them both connected to the Bluetooth but my iPad states that there's no connection between them to use the keynote remote how do I fix this?

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

  • Can I use home sharing between my iPhone and iPad? Or do I need to use a computer?

I want to use home sharing between my iPhone and Ipad. So I can use the remote app. But I can't get it to work

You can use it to share the library on your computer to the iPad, not the other way around.
On the computer, set up homesharing in the advanced menu. On the iPad go to settings > music.

iPhone 5 wont setup airplay via Bluetooth. iPhone 5s will successfully setup airplay via Bluetooth.
    Both iPhones are 7.1.

Is the Apple TV up to date?
Note: airplay still requires both to be on the same wifi network. The bluetooth feature is only for discovery, in place of using bonjour, and most useful for business/school networks.

  • How to send docs via bluetooth from / to iPad?

How to send quickly docs via bluetooth from / to iPad instead via itunes etc?

I would very much like for there to be a way to quickly transfer a small block of text from iPad to iMac without copying and pasting it into an email/creating a small separate doc and using iTunes/using the cloud or dropbox or using Notes. Bluetooth worked fine for me between my laptop and iMac, quick and easy. WiFi would be better.
I keep a large journal on my iPad using Pages (I'm a writer) and sometimes I just want to use/send a small selection of text from it to the iMac. It would be really nice if I could select the text and see in the popup options something like 'send to iMac' or other device.
If you are running OSX 10.8.2 on your iMac, you can use iCloud and the Notes applications on your iPad and iMac to transfer the block of text in a note between the two devices.  I do this with simple notes and lists.  In your settings on each device, make sure Notes is turned ON under the iCloud tab.

You can use your iPad charger to charge your iPhone 4S. Not recommended to use your iPhone charger to charge your iPad. So, use your iPad charger to charge both.
