Using Keynote with USB Vga connection
I'm trying a new setup for two projectors, where I'm hooking up one using a mini displayport on an imac, connecting it via DVI, and a second one through a USB VGA connection. Previously, we were using a VGA splitter off the displayport, which kept me from having a digital connection for the one (better) projector.
This setup seems to work fine except in Keynote. I have the two projectors setup to mirror each other, while the imac serves as the main display. In other programs, the mirroring works, but in Keynote, when I activate the slide presentation, the VGA projector goes black. To my untrained eye, it appears as if Keynote is overriding the OS' display setup, and is only using the display port's connection as the secondary display.
Hope I'm explaining this well enough. Anyone have any suggestions?
In my experience, most current business projectors will display at 1024 X 768, although older/cheaper models may have a native resolution of 800 X 600. Most projectors can rescale some higher resolutions, but I'd say that you're safest to not go above 1024 X 768. Also, although some projectors will have digital inputs, many business projectors will not, and so it is vital to have the VGA connector. While you may lose a bit of quality, in the cases where you need it, you won't likely have any other option.

To map the drive on your computer click on Start - RUN - type "\\192.168.1.1" and click ok... When prompted for Username and Password type "admin" and click ok... Now you will be able to see the folder which you have shared on your router, right click on it and select "Map network drive" and click on finish.
Now it will map the drive on your computer and you should be able to transfer the file from your computer to the USB drive. -
I'm trying to update my iOS to 6.0, using iTunes (with my 4s connected via USB and WiFi is on also). I get a message that 'there are purchased items on my iPhone that have not been transferred to my iTunes library. Yet, I can't find those items! Help! There is not error message number just the text message. I've searched for an answer but have found nothing on "transfering items purchased to your iTunes library".

I recently bought an ipad2, hoping to use it for powerpoint/keynote presentations while travelling. The first time I used it with a VGA connector to a projector there was screen flicker, which I was told is due to different screen resolutions. How is this fixed?
Turn off the security and firmware on your computer while you are updating ,that should speed things up.

We were able to solve that problem...but now could you advice as to which DC power supply we should use (preferably avalable in India) so that it can be controlled by Labview (through a gpib/rs232/any other port) to give a square wave of desired frequency/other parameters.

Read out from OBD-II Freematic Emulator using ELM327 with USB and LabView
Hello. I have an Freematic OBD-II mk2 emulator which simulates diagnostics of a real car. I have connected an ELM327 diagnostic device with USB cable to the emulator and a PC. The connection between emulator, diagnostic device and computer works. Now I need to read out parameters in LabView. How do I do it? I tried to use the NI VISA functions, but didn't manage to read out anything sensible. How can I for example read out Engine RPM? Do you have some example code?
I want to avoid using Automotive Diagnostic Command Set, because it's to expensive for me.Oh yes, I didn't realize what this hardware does. Some beginners think that a DB9 is a standard interface for a CAN bus, and when they see the DB9 serial port on their computer they think they can just use that. I was worried this was what you were attempting.
So yes VISA is the right way to go. Once you have this device installed and recognized in Windows it should appear as a COM port. You can open the Windows Device Manager and by plugging and unplugging your device you should see a COM port appear and disappear.
Assuming you do launch LabVIEW and go to the example finder and search for Simple Serial. This is an example VI that can send serial data to a COM port, wait, then read the response. It can basically work like hyperterminal. Assuming there are no already made LabVIEW drivers (I haven't seen any) this will be a good place to start. Using documentation on your hardware you can start to come up with commands to do things like read and write CAN data, by sending the appropriate commands to the hardware over serial.

HDCP Error with HDMI-VGA connections
We have been using Apple TV 3 Software Version 7.0.2(6915) for connecting the Apple TV to classroom projectors that have a VGA port in. This was working perfectly till last week, and it seems a new software update was pushed to the Apple TV device now we get "This Content Requires HDCP for playback". Tried multiple different options of soft and hard reboots, resets and restarts nothing helps. Connecting the same Apple TV using HDMI-HDMI cable works fine. We are using Kanex HDMI-VGA adapter. If someone has the same issue please write back since there have 26 Apple TVs in the school and is being actively used by instructors to project their work to the class.

As far as I know, 7.0.2(6915) is the latest software version & nothing new has been pushed out by Apple since its release months ago.
You problem is most likely exactly what the error message indicates: the content (for example commercial movies from a streaming service or an iTunes library) you are trying play on the ATV is protected by the HDCP encryption standard, so unless the Kanex adaptor supports HDCP internally, the ATV will not output the protected content to it.
I looked on the Kanex website to see if they claim the ATV Pro adaptor supports HDCP but nothing there says if it does or doesn't. Also, one of the U.S. Apple Store questions about the device has conflicting answers for that, so I suggest you contact Kanex directly for a more definitive answer & perhaps some help with the issue.
Failing that, you could try your setup with some content you know is not protected by HDCP (like a home movie in an iTunes library). If that works, then the problem almost certainly is that the Kanex doesn't support HDCP & you will not be able to use it with any content so protected. -
ITunes visualizer problem with RGB (VGA) connection to plasma tv
when i use my vga connection on my laptop to my plasma tv and use itunes, for some reason i cannot get the visualizer to work. it just goes black for a split second and then just back to itunes screen. any idea why that would be? the visualizer works fine when not connected via VGA.
Well I guess I won't get an answer here, can anyone tell me who/where to find out what the problem is? Thanks!

Time Capsule Hangs with USB Drive Connected after installing 10.5.6 update
The 10.5.6 update basically made my External USB Disk connected to the Time Capsule unusable. I've repaired the permissions as suggested in other posts - this did not fix the problem.
I was unable to perform any incremental backups initially after the 10.5.6 update, so I archived my sparsebundle and created a new one by doing a full fresh backup - which completed successfully. However, after the backup, I was unable to connect to the Time Capsule or the USB drive connected to the Time Capsule via Finder - when trying to connect, my computer hangs and I'm forced to do a hard restart of BOTH my computer AND the Time Capsule, if I just restart one or the other the problem persists. If I let the connection attempt run long enough I get an "Error Code: -8072" message and still have to do a hard restart. After the hard restart of my computer and Time Capsule I'm able to connect to the Time Capsule and the USB drive connected to Time Capsule just fine. However, once the Time Machine backup runs again - the same problem returns, I can no longer access the Time Capsule or the USB drive connected to Time Capsule via Finder and have to do a hard restart of BOTH my computer AND Time Capsule. This 10.5.6 update has been havoc, anyone have the same troubles or ideas for resolving this? Before updating to 10.5.6 my system was working flawlessly with Time Capsule and the connected USB drive.
UPDATE: I've just verified that this problem only occurs with my external LaCie Hard Drive connected to Time Capsule via USB. If I disconnect my LaCie Hard Drive from the Time Capsule and restart the Time Capsule everything works fine (backups, access to Time Capsule Disk from Finder). If I connect the LaCie Hard Drive via USB to the Time Capsule, I am able to access the LaCie Hard Drive in Finder UNTIL the next Time Machine backup. After the first Time Machine backup with the USB drive connected, I can no longer access the USB drive from Finder - Finder hangs and eventually produces "Error Code: -8072". If I disconnect the USB drive, then plug it back in - Finder no longer hangs and I can access the drive connected to Time Capsule until the next backup occurs.
Anybody have ANY ideas? This worked fine before the 10.5.6 update!I am having a similar problem. Never tried it before installing 10.5.6, but have a Time Capsule (500GB) with a 1TB WD MyBook Essential Edition connected via USB. Hardware is password protected by authorized users of network and needs separate login to access. When I initially set it up, it worked fine (though too difficult to set up). The WD storage drive showed up in Finder window as a subset of the Time Capsule after clicking on the Time Capsule icon. I had an "-8072" error message yesterday that I ignored, but then the file contents of the WD storage drive took forever to be viewed in Finder (though video files could be accessed wirelessly). Today started having a problem... coincidentally?... after a Time Machine backup, and got the message: "The operation could not be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -8072)." Now I am unable to get into the WD drive when I click on "Connect As" on the Time Capsule icon in the Finder menu... I just get the -8072 error. I no longer even see the Time Capsule disk as a subset of the Time Capsule icon in the Finder Toolbar.
What is going on??? -

When i try to boot i freezes at the detecting usb devices when i have a usb device connected. It does with any usb device. But when i boot up without any usb devices connected then i boot fine and i can connect the devices right after the detection of usb devices. Also try and see if a clear CMOS will help, some people suggested that from a old post from MSI forum here, saying its bios 1.3 thats bugged.
So if disabling doesnt work, perhaps down/upgrading BIOS might. -
