Using Laptop as Hotspot

I have a laptop and a notebook and only the laptop will connect to the wireless connection. I had the same problem with my work lapttop and it was solved by setting up my personal laptop as a Wifi Hotspot.
Now I'd like to connect my notebook via the laptop as a hotspot but I can't remember how. The notebook shows it's connected to my wireless but I still can't get on the internet.
If I connect my notebook to my neighbor's wireless it works and I am able to access the web. Any suggestions?

Sharing broadband modem internet to phone using laptop's hotspot?

I am so confused with Win 7's hotspot feature. I made virtual wifi adapter, connect my phone to it, shared my broadband modem's internet to it, but it's either no internet access to the adapter itself, or "Authentication problem" on the phone,
or the wifi adapter itself wont appear on phone's wifi scan. (Phone wifi scanning is fine). So is there something i did wrong? How to set it up in the first place anyway?
Also, i tried this command:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyNet key=MyPassword

the virtual wifi adapter was established but the phone just can't connect. It got stuck on "Obtaining IP address". All the while, in the laptop, i keep getting message from Intel MyWiFi technology, saying "disabled while interface is in use".

From your description, this issue should be caused by the virtual adapter disabled automatically---- disabled while interface is in use.
To isolate this problem cause, please boot into diagnostic mode to establish the shared network, this would eliminate software or third-party service conflicts.
Meanwhile, please collect the ipconfig /all result to check the virtual adapter’s status.

I can no longer connect to the internet on my laptop using my personal hotspot. Stopped working all of a sudden. Any tips as to why?

I used to always use my personal hotspot and connect to the internet on my laptop. Then one day it stopped working. I updated my phone so my hotspot password changed, so I changed that in the properties. It now says it's connected to my iPhone and there's internet access, but when I try to do anything it says not connected.

It shows a connection. When using wifi n USB. I don't know how to connect using Bluetooth seeing what it says to do is totally different from my computer.
I do have a connection but I can only connect to some sites, I tried YouTube n nfl.com n they both worked but google, hotmail n Facebook said couldn't connect.
I tried using safari on my computer n like explorer I could only connect to a few different websites.

When I am using my Personal Hotspot, my phone will randomly restart.

I use my personal hotspot every day, all day while I'm at work because there's no WiFi at work and I have to bring my laptop. I have been using it every day, all day for the past 3 weeks with no problem. Since Friday, however, it will randomly restart whil the Hotspot is on. Of course, it's extremeley frustrating and annoying.

My location services are frozen. Can I use my personal hotspot to backup and restore my phone?

My iPhone 4S was upgraded from the 6.1.2 to 6.1.3 and I expierenced a major malfunction. Immeadily after the upgrade my daughter installed a 4 shared app then she went on line and downloaded AppCaster. The AppCaster crashed then my google latitude app crashed. one cant use the personal hotspot feature to restore the device coz the phone will d/connect as soon the restoration process is underway. you will need a PC/laptop t ocomplete this process,in case you dont then ,maybe go to the apple store and request them to restore it for you from icloud

I see you came from the iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot, which is applicable to the issue you describe. If you haven't already, I would run through the steps within that article, specifically the following:
Try disabling and reenabling Personal Hotspot from Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Install the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If none of the previous steps resolves your issue, restore the iPhone.

when you switch your hotspot on your phone you will see a user password - when you switch your laptop on and search for your iphone connect and you will be asked for the user password once you enter it and click connect you will link the two devices and they will work together as long as you have a good signal and good data allowance you shouldn't have any issues

We are looking at allowing iPads to be used as personal hotspots for our field staff instead of MiFis. Our iPads have access to connect via a VPN connection. One of our tests was to connect to the VPN on the iPad and then connect a laptop to the hotspot. It appears that the VPN connection on the iPad is safe and isolated from the newly connected laptop but we would like confirmation as to how secure the VPN connection is on the iPad from the laptop?

Shut down the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu. Select the Bios option ( usually f10 ) and under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
Note: If the option to run these tests is not available in the Bios Menu, use the f2 diagnostic menu instead.
Can you also post back with the following details.
1. The full Model No. and Product No. of your notebook - see Here for a guide on locating this information.
2. The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 64bit ).

Generally, this issue should be related with something called split tunneling, since you’re using a F5 vpn client, you need to look for something related to split tunneling in the F5 VPN client's documentations.

I Sugges you to log into your hotmail acc and go to security and password change bit, then you will see two-step verification.. turn that off and you will be able to set it up on your iPhone/iPad or even Mac.

Mifi 4510L - Use Verizon Wifi Hotspots

I used to have the Mifi 2200 - and was able to cable up to the mifi - and use the Vz Access Manager to authenticate to the verizon wifi hotspots at airports, etc.
In getting the 4510, I see the Access Manager is no longer used/needed/supported, so how do I authenticate now to use the wifi hotspots...
Support, and my local store had no clue.

The Verizon WiFi web site is specific on who is eligible.... and it was part of my purchasing decision on the MiFi 4510L and my 2 year contract.:

I'm thinking about getting a Palm but are you required to use the Mobile HotSpot feature or is a optional application? It comes installed on the phones, yes? But do you have to use it?
And are you required to pay for it even if you don't use it? And if you are, is it an additional $40 on top of the $30 monthly data plan?

Did you have an unlimtited data plan before you purchased your Pixi? Verizon told me two different times today that the free hotspot was no longer available unless you had an unlimited data plan BEFORE the July price change.
