Using latest Premiere Pro, opened older version, now all projects have older interface

I have been using the latest version of Premiere. I recently opened a project that was using an older version of Premiere (CS5 perhaps). Now when I open any new projects using that latest version of Premiere, it shows in the older version interface. Does this now mean I have the older version of Premiere Pro  or is it showings the interface, yet I still have the latest version? I did not do any thing overt by updating or re-installing, just opening an older version of a project.

    Do a clean (re)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Crashed, and now will no longer start back up again..

I was working on a project today using Cs3, I've had it since spring and it always worked fine until tonight when i was editing a project.. In the middle of my editing the program unexpectedly froze than crashed...
I then tried to restart it and i got this message which popped up in 4 windows..
" Sorry a serious error has occurred that required adobe premiere pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project" i then hit ok and it exited completely, i tried to open it again, same thing..
so then i restarted my computer and i got a different message that said something like i wasn't aloud to use the program anymore and had to reinstall it or cal adobe tech support... so i put the CD in and re-installed it and got the same message when opening the program up again "serious error messages" I then went to the CS3 updates to update it back to version 3.2.0. But still continue to get the error message.
so something must have happened during my edit that caused it to stop working, but i have no idea what it could be. I even tried to do a System restore..which also got a error message....thanks vista...
anyways..i can use some help, thanks
    :edit:
i tried to reinstall Premiere Pro 1.5 since Cs3 was an upgrade.. I reinstalled it then reinstalled Cs3 again, and i still get the "serious error Message" so that didn't work...

Ok i looked at the Troubleshooting site Eddie gave me, and tried to answer the questions as best i could.
Never used any Adobe Beta software.
I freed up a lot of space off of my hard drive, i only had like 5GB-10GB left, but it still worked when having such low space
I did a disk clean up as well as disk defragment, and moved a lot of high GB files over to my second hard drive. i have over 27GB of free storage left now, its a 150GB hard driver. should i have more?
I Tried holding down the Shift button, but didn't help
I tried to open up Encore Cs3 which came with Premiere, i barely ever used this one, but its funny how this wont work either. I think i used it once before and it worked. But it old how none of my Cs3 Programs. never installed On location.
also this isn't a pirated copy or anything, i bought it as an Upgrade from Amazon back in the spring. Upgrading from Premiere Pro 1.5 which also wasn't pirated, i got that as a gift.
My older version of Premier, 1.5 still works, and my older versions of Photo shop (CS?) and After effects (6.5) still work. So that's good. Just having a problem with Cs3 :(

  • Export of Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro

Hello. Simply (or not so simply), I just want to know if I can export a Premiere Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro CS6 or CC. I would like some form of verification such as a page in a manual or a link to a web page. Just getting the answer "Yes" will not do. Sorry but this has been very difficult to locate and am concerned it can't happen.
    Thanks,
    BK

"Adobe's target audience is just not likely to later need to edit a Project in a professional NLE."
Thanks Bill and I understand. However, given the current choices of NLE's today and many Professional Users "scrambling" to find replacements for FCP7 and "aging" Avid, I would think that the workflow I'm suggesting might be a cost effective and viable alternative that Adobe should consider very seriously. If it was never brought to their attention before, I'm mentioning it now!
If we can avoid the cost of putting PrPro into the hands of Preditors and leave the Pro Finishing to the real Pros, that would be very helpful not only financially but it would make learning and working with the software much easier for them using Elements.
So, I guess the only way to find out if this works, is to download the trial versions of each and have at it.
Unless someone out there already has both of the most current versions and is willing to try this?
Either way, I'll have to find out sooner or later because we are moving to Pro eventually.
    Thanks again,
    Bob K.

  • Mini DV decks to use with Premiere Pro?

I have a few questions regarding mini DV decks and Premiere Pro.
First, is there any Mini DV deck on the market right now that will actually NOT be useful with Premiere Pro?
Does anyone have a personal favorite?
Is there anything I should look out for when I'm looking for one?
I know these are very general questions, but I have no clue whatsoever, and the only way to start to get a clue is to ask. If there's anything else I should be aqskingg/looking for, please say so.

    1. Not that I'm aware of.
    2. Yes. Sony, SR11 in particular or Panasonic NV-DV2000.
    3. Reliability, switchable between NTSC and PAL may be of interest

  • What's a good HD camera to use with Premiere Pro CS4

I've used Premiere Pro CS4 for a while now and most of the time I don't have any problems, but recently, I've been buying HD cameras, shooting some AVCHD and then having a hell of a time getting them to play nice with Premiere Pro (or WMindows Media Player... or Quicktime... or anything but their crappy bundled software that won't let me edit or anything). My girlfriend says I should give up and buy a Mac and use FCP, but I like Premiere Pro. I'm about to take another camera back to Best Buy and I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion for the easiest camera to use with Premiere Pro.
In case you're wondering, I've bought a Canon Vixia HF10 and a Samsung HMX-H100 so far and both had every issue I can think of from codec incompatibility to aspect ratios changing to A/V sync being lost to all-out-I-don't-know-WTF-just-happend-errors. I just want a camera that's going to give me a file I can drop straight into Premiere.

Unless you want a new computer, forget about AVCHD. It requires too much muscle to edit comfortably on anything but the fastest computer.
What camera is nice, depends on your budget. Formats that are easy to edit are HDV, DVCProHD (P2) and XDCAM. In the consumer range you could look at the Canon HV40 or XH-A1s, in the prosumer range look at the Panasonic AG-HPX170, Canon XH-H1s, JVC GY-ND250 or Sony HVR Z5 or Z7 and all Sony XDCAM cameras, especially the EX1 and EX3. In the professional range look at the Sony PDW-F355 or upward.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 trial version:

Premiere Pro CS5 trial version - installing third party plug-ins:
Could anybody pleasetell me if the ability to install / use third party transition plug-ins(i.e.: New Blue & Pixelan effects) has been disabled for thetrial Premier Pro CS5, I've tried installing them but have beenunsuccessful in doing so as it would be nice to see how they behavein CS5 before I go ahead and purchase the full version only to find I canno longer use them (I'm currently on CS3).
    Many thanks...

I have just heard from the NewBlue customer support team, they write:
"We are working on the update for CS5. We plan to have it ready soon. You are correct that the current version for Premiere is 32-bit but the 64-bit version for CS5 is definitely in the works"

  • Need to keep Premiere Pro open while Encore transcoding?

So I used the Dynamic Link function to export my project from Premiere Pro CS5 to Encore and started building a Blu Ray disc. Do I need to keep Premiere Pro open while Encore is transcoding?
Task Manager says Premiere is still using 20-40% CPU so I am scared to close it . . .

I agree that you can close premiere, but I'd close it before starting the transcode or build. (Call it superstition.) But if you close it (or even not), adobe with run pproheadless (the premiere end of a dynamic link).
Are you using ame to transcode for Encore? (A setting as of CS5.) Curious.

  • Whenever I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014, My macbook occasionally re-boots automatically! Any idea why and how to fix it?

I am using a Macbook Pro 15" late 2013 model, and it works great. However, when I use Adobe Premiere Pro (which is a lot as I am studying editing) it occasionally freezes for a second then reboots itself. I got the details of the error and pasted them into this document[1] if it is of any help.
The edition of premiere is new as I used to work with CS5 and recently upgraded in the last few weeks. If anyone could help resolve the issue, that would be great!

Not exactly the same, but it SOUNDS like you have hardware problems... P-Pro puts a LOT of stress on hardware

Well, when I start working (should I say try to work with FCPX, activity monitor in the %processor column for FCPX jumps rapidly over 100% and reaches more than 200% ??? What the **** is that ?
200% or more is not strange. Remember that your mac has 4 cores (you say it's 3 months old, so I assume it is a new model), so 200% amounts to using 2 of these 4 cores to the max.
Regarding the question of creating a new admin user: while it sits in the same system, it may help if the problem is caused by some user-specific preferences or settings. Not likely in your case, since you seem to have reinstalled from scratch, but still it is worth a try. It takes 5 minutes and may help pinpoint the problem.
