  • Using O2M I imported my contacts into Address Book. However upon exiting the contacts are not saved. This is on a new Macbook Pro Lion OS. How does one save the newly imported contacts?

    Using the program O2M I successfully imported emails from Outlook 2003 to Mail, and calendar events to iCal. However, repeated attempts to import contacts to Address Book have failed. The contacts appear to import, but when I close Address Book and reopen it, the contacts are gone. I tried File-Save, but Save is greyed out. This is a new Macbook Pro with the latest Lion OS. I wonder if O2M has not been updated to work with Lion. Or is there something I am overlooking in the import process?

    Hi Denisej and others who have encountered the same problem,
    I tried your work around. Unfortunately it did not work out for me because in my contacts there are an unknown number that still "refused" to be imported like that. When such a contact was in the group I selected for import the whole lot would be lost again after re-opening Address Book. Finally that meant that I had to import each contact one-by-one, each time with the need to close down Address Book. A job to go nuts and end up with a mouse injury. So I decided to use the Migration Assistant that Lion now offers
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3284404
    together with Windows Migration Assitant on my old PC. Obviously both Mac and PC have to be on the same network. For this I did not need to do anything special. Both make use of the same router and that is apparently sufficient. When migrating the contacts Lion creates a new account, so you need to log in to that new account to see your migrated contacts. I used the Export Address Book Archive function in the Address Book menu to copy the lot to my own Apple account. I got rid of the new account and I was finally where I wanted to be in the first place.

  • Can you link or import calendar info to numbers iPad?

    I track my company time on my calendar an also use MobileMe. It would be nice to import a weeks worth of data fields to numbers on my iPad and generate a time report to then be emailed to the office.

    Forget the last query I sent.
    On the Ical screen there is on the upper right corner a search box. If you enter your company data with a certain prefix, you can use the search with the inserted prefix and all your pertinent data will appear in a window at the screen bottom.
    You can then copy-paste the data to Numbers.
    I haven't checked the sorting qualitiies of the data but I believe you'll find a way.
    Cheers!

  • IMPORT calendar & Contacts MS OUTLOOK 2003

    iTunes 7 will not import either. I believe it may be becuase I have Outlook Installed on my D:\ Drive and I think it is looking for it on a C:\ Drive. Does anyone know how to bypass or edit where iTunes looks for this by default? I have the same problem when clicking on a link from an iTunes Email. I also have iTunes installed on a D:\ Drive. Please help! thanks.

    Just some additional comment. The problem seems to be more random than I originally thought. However, the calendar sync crashes more often than it does not. It is very annoying.
    I have now moved on to do the sync manually, but still the calendar sync often crashes. What kind of information I should dig up to be able to troubleshoot the problem?

  • Using Family sharing for calendars, contacts, music and purchases but separate email.

    For several years my wife and I have shared one Apple ID which lets us share our calendar and contact information. The contacts get a little busy but we live with it and it has become normal for hers and mine to be all together. We are now looking at setting up our email on icloud but we don't want to share our email accounts. What do I need to know to have this work correctly the first time?.

    You don't need Family Sharing at all for what you want to do.
    Sign out of the old ID on her iPhone and set up her own iCloud ID for email, etc.  After you set up her own iCloud account on her iPhone, add your iCloud ID back as another iCloud account on her iPhone (yes, you can have more than one iCloud account on a device).  Her account will be her "primary" one since it was entered first, but yours will serve as a secondary iCloud account and will provide access to your Contacts, Calendar, and Notes (she can disable any or all of these services on her new ID).  That way she can keep her own iCloud email, but use your contacts and/or calendar.
    My wife and I do this and share just the Notes portion, but it will support what you want to accomplish without Family Share.

    > So Link works for all major browsers today?
    Always has. It's a HTML tag and works for more than just
    stylesheets.
    @import is a style rule (needs to be wrapped in
    <style>...</style> tags in
    HTML pages) and is the new kid on the block.
    Importing stylesheets has advantages over merely LINKing
    style sheets to a
    HTML documents, including breaking your stylesheets into
    modules for easy
    maintenance.
    To use importing, you can use it directly in an HTML
    <style> tag, but then
    you might as well use link because import would be doing the
    same thing:
    including that stylesheet in the HTML page.
    To really take advantage of importing, you should import
    other stylesheets
    into a master stylesheet that is linked to the HTML page.
    First link one stylesheet to the HTML page:
    <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css"
    />
    And then import the other stylesheets into the master one.
    Only the master
    css file is linked to the HTML page.
    So in this example, import the other stylesheets into
    main.css:
    /* Import the other stylesheets into main.css */
    @import url("styles.css");
    @import url("layout.css");
    The main advantage of importing stylesheets is that updating
    stylesheet
    links is easier, because you update them in a single CSS file
    that is
    imported rather than in every HTML page.
    Consider:
    <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css"
    />
    <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="css/docs.css"
    />
    Then, main.css contains:
    /* Import the other stylesheets into main.css */
    @import url("styles.css");
    @import url("layout.css");
    /* Now define some additional styles */
    div.main-banner {border:none;width:600px;}
    div.newsscroller {background-color:black;}

  • Mac OS 10.8.6 contacts to Z10 Via USB and BlackBerry Link

    Have an iMac with 10.7.  Appointments with my Z10 are currently synced via a USB cable with Apple iCal Using a USB cable.  Want to upgrade to a newer version of Mac OS 10.8.  Mac OS 10.8 no longer has iCal but Calendar instead.  Does BlackBerry Link work with Calendar the same way it does with iCal and sync with the Z10.  In BlackBerry Link, there is a specific option to work with iCal, not sure if this was to make it work with iCal and that it will work Calendar as well.  Maintaining sync with calendars is most important to me right now and the OS upgrade would let me use another application that I trying out...  Again maintaining calendar sync is a must.
    Confirmation that BlackBerry Link syncs to the Z10 from Calendar via a USB connection would be appreciated.  Downgrading an OS not pleasant.

    I have a Mac Air and use  Calender.
    I have my Gmail calender synced(?)/conected to my Calender (click on "Calenders" in the top right of the screen and add it.
    I have my Blackberry calender linked to the same gmail account and they sync as well. It seems to work.
    I am however unable to sync the contacts on my apple to my blackberry. But I can sync from my blackberry to my computer..............
    Any answers?

  • Anyone got advice on using Bluetooth to import contacts to new iPhone? Currently all my new phone just keeps searching!

    I have switched on Bluetooth but all I get is searching. My old phone can see the iPhone but the iPhone can't findy old phone. Any other suggestions on how to import contacts also appreciated!

    Transferring data between two phones using bluetooth is not supported. Only handsfree devices and headphones can connect to your iphone.
    To transfer your contacts, use your computer to store it from your old phone, then choose your contact app from the computer to sync to your iphone using iTunes. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386
    'You can also transfer the contact info to your SIM, swap it into your new iphone and import the contact info. This can be done in Settings/Mail,contacts,calendars/Import contacts from SIM card

  • Issue importing google contacts using vcard format.

    So I have tried importing my contacts from Google to iCloud using the drag and drop method when they are saved as a vcard.  Everytime.  Nothing happens.  I'm using windows 7 computer with Internet Explorer 8.  Ix znyone else having this problem?

    Have you checked your time zone within your Google calendar settings? (http://www.google.com/calendar/) It's just an idea ...
    I myself found several issues in syncing my contacts with Google (over the air via ActiveSync / Exchange on iOS4 as well as using the API within Address Book / iTunes) with truncated names (e.g. prefixes and suffixes) and re-arranged addresses (german scheme vs. US-scheme: post code, state) and can't recommend the Goole services for users outside the U.S.

    If my husband add a new iCloud account to his iPhone 5, will he be "locked out" because he's using a new Apple ID to do it? Does he have to use a new Apple ID to create a new iCloud account? He set up his phone using my Apple ID because we didn't know any better. Now we want to separate calendars/contacts, but are afraid of the 90-day lockout.

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
    You can change the Apple ID without any problem. On his device, go to Settings > iCloud > Delete account and login with his Apple ID so he'll get his information. iCloud needs an Apple ID, so if he hasn't got one, he must create an Apple ID > http://appleid.apple.com
    When you delete the iCloud account, all the information will be deleted, so I recommend you to turn off each service before deleting iCloud

    I am using Outlook 2010. Changes made to my iPhone 4 or my iPad2 appear on each other (tasks, calendar, Contacts) but not in Outlook. Why is this?
    Also, changes made in Outlook do not appear on Phone or IpAd

    I'm guessing outlook doesn't support iCloud or vice versa or the settings for iCloud in Outlook are turned off. Just a guess though I don't use Microsoft products if I can help it.
