Using Links withing AW causes it to crash!

Every so often (more than I want) when I link to documents withing Appleworks. AW's crashes. And this is the only problem I have with Links. Sometimes it does it when I have the Links palette open. Or simply clicking the link icon in the bar.
Any suggestions? I do have alot of links. Wish I could make iCal and AW's work together.

If you've restored as new and not used ANY backup, and you still have the issue, then you'll need to bring your phone in to Apple for evaluation.

    Hi baer2cub,
    Welcome to the support community!
Did you receive this message when first setting up BlackBerry Link?
Were you able to login to BlackBerry Link at all?
Could you please check in Settings > BlackBerry ID on your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone and verify that the BlackBerry ID displayed on that screen is the same one you are trying to login to BlackBerry Link with?
Can you also please verify that you are able to login with it here: https://blackberryid.blackberry.com/bbid/login/ from the same computer you are using BlackBerry Link on?
I look forward to your response.
    Thanks.

A Vi I have written passes measurement data out via a 1 dimentional array however on trying to create a Multiple Numeric Limit Test Step with this VI within Teststand, Labview throws an exeption and closes. Labview version 7.1.1 Teststand 3.1

Can you post the VI you created and a sequence file that calls it? When you were asked to specify the module, did you have TestStand create it or was it a VI that you wrote outside of TestStand? Did you assign the array from LabVIEW to Step.NumericArray?

  • How do I reinstall a "System/Library /Extension CNQL123_ClassicNotSize.kext"that was improperly installed and can not be used?  It is causing iTunes to crash

I instaled the latest Safari Update and iTunes Update and now when I select Podcasts it crashes iTunes--it seems to only be the Podcast option that causes the crash. So how do i install or reinstall the system extension listed above, that cannot be used?  The error message suggest that I reinstall or contact the vendor?????  I also added an app to my dashboard which I have delected.  Should I reinstall the system that came with the mini ---Leopard 10.6.2?

If it has an uninstaller use that. Be sure you delete the kext file; and you will need to restart afterwards.
If there is no uninstaller then see the following:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead.  Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Calling a function with eval causing CS5 to crash

I'm calling a function depending on user input from a dialog and the resulting call is something like:
    eval(fromFormat + "To" + toFormat + "(selection, data)");
    where selection is the app.selection.
The correct function is called, and I can trace through it all the way through to the end of the called function, and control has returned to the next line after the eval... and this is where it crashes. Even something simple like: var a = 1; causes CS5 to exit.
When it exits, CS5 closes, with an OK dialog box coming up stating: "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in InDesign.exe [6036]. ..."
    Not pretty huh?
So I'm wondering what could be the cause? The called function does some shifting, and moving around of things, but nothing that I'd have thought would cause an exception.

    I'm confused.
Is it eval() or remove() which is causing the crash?
If it's remove(), you can try separating the reference to the text from the hyperlink.
    Maybe something like this:
    var source = doc.hyperlinks[i].source;
    source.remove();
or possibly, getElements() might be needed:
    var source = doc.hyperlinks[i].source.getElements()[0];
    source.remove();

  • Scrolling with mouse causing iMac to crash?

So I'm using a 2010 iMac at work, running on 10.8.4. It has Bootcamp and CS6, and it has been crashing pretty much every day since I started using it last week.
At first I thought it was a problem with Safari, as even when no other programs were open, the Mac would lock up or outright crash, every time resulting in having to reset it regardless. The past two days, I have kept Safari closed, and while yesterday it managed to make it through the entire day, today it has already needed to be restarted once already.
I think it may have something to do with scrolling with the mouse (I use a Magic Mouse), or perhaps just the screen moving in general. Whenever it is about to crash, the screen will sometimes flicker, or only the bottom of the screen will flicker; sometimes lines appear in the middle of the screen in either case. It's only locked up once to the point where it needed restarting. Usually though it will flicker once and then go to a blank white/grey screen.
I know I could just tell my supervisor that this Mac has a problem, but I'd rather try to find a way to fix the issue beforehand, as the last time I needed something to be installed on it, I ended up having to wait three days (and I'd rather not repeat that!)

    Hi there,
The flickering definitely sounds as though there could be an issue with the Graphics Card/Logicboard. I'd definitely have it looked at. Worth running Apple Hardware Test to see if that reports anything.
    Good luck.

  • Linked PDF files cause Safari to crash

    OsX 10.4.10 / Acrobat Professional 7...
When I click on a link in a web page that is a link to a PDF file, Acrobat 7 automatically starts up and then it and Safari crash once the Acrobat splash screen has run through its process.
Sometimes I am unaware that a link is to a PDF file so I cannot prevent this from happening by right/ctrl clicking to download the linked file.
I would like Safari set so it does not try to load PDF's within the browser (I'm assuming that's what's going on). I have checked the prefs. in Acrobat but they appear to be set so that it doesn't try to launch linked PDF's within Safari.
I did not have this problem when I was running OsX 10.3.9 not so long ago.
Any tips on how to fix/stop this from happening?
    Christo

Does that mean Preview will open a PDF within Safari or does Safari automatically download the PDF first?
I would rather just download PDF's, when required, to view later.
Yes, that would open the PDF in Safari via Preview. If you want to skip Safari altogether, here's one suggestion for doing so. You'll need to use Terminal found in your Utilities folder.

  • Call form using link with autoquery, BUG

If one of the text fields passed to the form contains the
character "&" the form autoquery will not work.
The character "&" is probably used as prefix for parameters.
Does anyone know a workaround other than telling the users not
to use "&" in their text fields?
    Thanks

Ok thanks, but now how this is more of a pl/sql question, but how can I check if it has a value. I tried checking for a value like this...
    if :parameter.generation_id <> null
    -- do logic
    else
    -- do logic
The problem is that it has a value in it during when_new_form_instance, but it wont detect it using this stmt. It thinks its still null even though it has value in it

  • Links with special characters work on the web, but are broken in RSS feed

    Hi everyone,
I've been searching the forum, but haven't found anything relevant.
Here is my problem. Most embedded links on my blog posts work fine. However, sometimes I use links with embedded special characters. Here's an example link to a YouTube video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugiY9t6fzo4
When I go to my blog on the web and click on the link, the link works fine. BUT, when I look at my RSS feed from the blog, the link gets transformed into:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch%253Fv%253DugiY9t6fzo4
    ... which doesn't work.
Something (I presume iWeb?) replaces the "?v=" with "%253Fv%253D"
Obviously, I get a lot of e-mail from my RSS subscribers telling me about broken links.
What can I do? Does anyone else have this issue?

I followed the topic concerning the Firefox photoalbum problem but I´m using Safari and the albums will not show up on the web !!!! I also exchanged the detailview and headercontrol *js which worked fine for opening the photoalbum on my harddisk with firefox. But when its uploaded to the server it won´t display and that in Safari!!!! On the published folder on my harddisk everything works fine

just cklick on "photoalben" no album apears. Does anyone have the same problem with safari ???

    Hi Irosenth,
While I'm struggling with another Acrobat Pro (in regards to ntdll.dll crash in this forum) issue - could you tell us how to file that formal report with your developer staff?
I've tried today to clarify that with Adobe Online Chat representative in Customer Support portal area and after I've provided him with our Acrobat Pro 9 serial number his response was: "since this is a Volume Licensing serial number and it comes pre registered, you'll have to contact our Technical Support team for further assistance"
But Adobe Technical Support links really sucks on Adobe sites, cause no one allows me to communicate via email and each one tells to call someone via a phone.
So, what are my as developer and my organization as Adobe customer for Adobe Acrobat Pro technical support options? Do we need to buy anything else in addition to buying Volume License to register regular bugs and track them properly?
I'd really appreciate if you could brign some light to this.

  • How can I debug leaks caused by ODBC calls in app linked with libtt.so?

    Hi,
we are using TimesTen Release 7.0.5.0.0 on Solaris 10.
and we are using libtt.so to link our application and connect using ODBC calls.
The problem is that we have made some serious changes to our large code base and now we see a leak.
    Here is what I know:
    1) Although it is easy to reproduce it doesn't seem to follow a clear pattern. ie. the amount leaked isn't a direct function of the number of request or time spent.
    2) When our application is linked with libttclient.so there is no leak at all.
    3) prstat shows increments of 4 MBytes each time it leaks.
So I suspect it is because the memory isn't freed but how can I tell which ODBC calls are causing it?
Is there a debug option I could turn on to help with this?
    Perhaps something in ttTraceMon?
    Thanks

    Hello Serge,
Just a note that we often times get this type of alarm about memory leaks in TimesTen when using the libtt.so library when using tools such as top or prstat to gage memory consumption. The reality is that these commands are not a good way to look for memory leaks / memory utilization when using TimesTen in direct connect mode. The TimesTen database resides in shared memory and so the fact that prstat shows big or increasing numbers should not be alarming.
The only reliable way to check for memory leaks is to use a tool designed exactly for that such as Purify, which the TimesTen development team uses extensively and so it's unlikely that you'll find memory leaks in TimesTen.
Have you found that memory is being exhausted after a period of application runtime and transaction iterations?
You could use ttTraceMon and work with TimesTen support/engineering to extrapolate and answer from the trace it gaves, but unfortunately, there's rarely an easy way to answer queries on what is going on in either the Permament or Temporary partition.
I'd first make sure that there is indeed a problem but running your application workload for some time. My suspicion is that the prstat command results are being misleading once more.
    Regards,
    Henri

  • Importing photos to my ipad 2 on iOS 4.3.2 using camera connection kit causes photo app to crash

Importing photos to my ipad 2 on iOS 4.3.2 using camera connection kit causes photo app to crash. Tried importing photo from an iPhone 4/ Panasonic DMC-FX50 via USB and SD card but without success. However, importing video from a Flip Mino HD is ok. Can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong

Have you tried a reset by holding the power and home buttons for ten seconds until the apple appears?
Since it's multiple different import devices not working with the CCK, it appears to be on the iPad side...
If the reset doesn't help, try a restore from within iTunes on the computer.

  • InDesign CC 2014 - crash when using links

This issue started happening right after I updated to the CC 2014 version. I am using a Windows 7. I thought it was a memory issue so I make sure to have as little browser/program activity as possible - I noticed it happened more frequently if I was streaming music for example. I'm not sure if that is the problem though, because it just happened again and I didn't have much activity going on. I saved my illustrator documents, closed all the .ai files, then went into InDesign (with only 1 doc open) and updated a link that I changed, then I tried to re-link an image to a new file, was able to browse for the file, but once I clicked open I got the same error.
"InDesign has encountered a problem..." It tries to figure it out, but it doesn't, I do not even have an error code, and then I'm forced to close the program. Fortunately my document is restored in its last state.
Sometimes it crashes before I can browse for a file. Sometimes is happens when I go to Place a new file. Sometimes it happens when I update a link, or even just click on a link.
Again, I have been using InDesign CC for months without this crashing issue, so I'm pretty sure its a bug with the 2014 release.
Please fix it soon!! It's getting really annoying to re-open the program multiple times in one sitting!

Not that I am aware of. The only special font plug-in/program I know about is TypeKit, and I've rarely used it.
As for other programs, I can't think of any non-adobe plugin that might have an impact on Adobe.
Java? Wacom Tablet Plugin? I haven't used my tablet in weeks though.
I'm working on a Dell. The only other programs I had open at the time were Microsoft Outlook, and Gmail in my Chrome Browser.
