Using LMS to find my non-ssh devices

I have Cisco Prime LMS 4.2 deployed.  How can I use it to determine which of my routers and switches are not configured to support ssh?   Clearly I could log into each device and do it by trial and error but I'd like something a little more elegent.    I wasn't hopeing there is a best practices report or something already built in but I don't see it.
Thank you,
Tod

Hi Tod,
so Basically  you need the get the Capabality of the devices with SSH
As per my understanding DIRECTLY it is not possible to get this , however I can suggest you one thing:
Create a CUSTOME INVENTORY Report
Report >report designer > Inventory
you can custom the report based on IMAGE  ( usually the IMAGES with K9 have the capabilty of SSH)
check the below link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.2/user/guide/reports/inv_reports.html#wp1125269
Thanks-

  • Can I use iTunes files on a non-Apple device?

    Hi all
I have a bit of a random question I was hoping someone could answer. I have a 120GB iPod, and I´ve got an iTunes account with a bit of cash in it, ready to spend on a few movies.
HOWEVER, the catch is that I´m actually travelling around South America right now for 6 months. I do not have my PC/laptop with me, and therefore can not sync anything to my iPod, so using the device for movies is out of the question.
I DO have an Epson P-6000 with me, which plays MP4 files. So my question is this:
If I log into my iTunes account whilst overseas, can I download a movie and transfer it to my Epson to play, instead of using my iPod? The Epson just uses Windows Explorer to transfer files to picture/music/video folders, so physically moving the file won´t be a problem. I´m just curious if the file will prohibit me using it outside of iTunes or my iPod.
    Thanks in advance.

I am not sure you will be even able to download files outside of the UK to your account. The newest terms state
+10. Territory. The Service is currently available only in the United Kingdom and is not available in any other location. You agree not to use or attempt to use the Service from outside of the available territory, and that iTunes may use technologies to verify your compliance+.

  • How can I use iTunes purchased music on non PC devices?

I have an audio component that is a music server that is connected to my home audio system. The hard drive based music server has a front disc tray that you can use to rip CDs to its hard drive, but you can also copy music to it from a PC, as the server is connected to my home network.
How can I get music that I purchase in iTunes onto this server? The server only accepts MP3s, and is not compatable with ACC. And its a music server, not a true PC, so dont see anyway how I could "authorize" it.
Is there any way to get the ACC into MP3 format? Or if I burn the purchased music to CD, and then rip the CD back to a PC or the server itself, does it come back out as ACC again or MP3?
If anybody can be of any help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks
      Windows XP

Burn the tracks out to an audio CD (make sure it's set to burn an audio CD, not a data CD, in the iTunes preferences). That CD can then be reimported as MP3.

  • Non-Controllable Device (other than the freezing) problem

I am using FCP 6.0.2 and 10.5.1. I have had virtually no problems for years, but this one recently appeared. I can capture using any setting except for Non-Controllable device. I have two cameras I use, the Sony HDR-FX1 and a little Panasonic hand held Mini-Dv camera. Both have worked before using the non-controllable device, but now when I choose that setting, it says "No Communication" As soon as I put it in any other setting, it says "VTR OK" and I can capture and use all the controls. Seems like it happened after I installed Leopard.
I tried looking for something in all the settings and preferences but didn't see anything. I also trashed all the preferences for FCP. Any other ideas before I re-install FCP?

Try repairing your permissions as well...then be sure to re-boot

  • Non-Controllable Device Sound Drift

My wife is a dance teacher who recorded some of her choreography using our Sony DVR-PC100. Unfortunately for me she "needs" to rewind the tape and review each take to make sure it is good before proceeding to the next dance. Since the tape I'm given to capture is a mess of broken timecode, I decided to use capture settings for a non-controllable device. The problem that I'm running into is the sound on the captured clip has drifted. I had run into a similar problem in the past when I was capturing and Hi-8 tape using a Sony DCR-TRV480 Digital 8 camera. Since the solution in that case was to set the camera output to 16-bit, I checked the audio settings on the PC100 and found that it is set to 12-bit (which doesn't seem to be a problem when device control is set to Firewire NTSC). I changed the audio setting on the PC100 and recaptured the footage but the sound was still drifting. Why this was still happening didn't make sense to me until I realized that changing the audio setting on the PC100 wasn't going to change the fact that the audio was originally recorded in and still was 12-bit audio. I believe the TRV480 is different because with the analog tapes I was capturing it was digitizing the video on the fly. My question (I apologize for my long-winded explanation) is there a way to capture the broken timecode footage shot with 12-bit audio without getting audio drift. The only solution that I can think of is put the original tape in another camera and output analog footage into the PC100 with the audio set to 16-bit. I should end up with a DV tape with continuous timecode and 16-bit audio. I think I would be OK with 12-bit audio at this point because I would have continuous timecode. Thanks in advance

The camera output is not relevant, only that the tape was actually recorded at. Was this material recorded at 32k or 48k, that is was it 12-bit or 16-bit? Whichever it is that's the setting you have to use in FCP.

  • Using LMS to extract VRF name as a variable from device config to deploy VRF name in additional configuration

Using LMS is there a way to run a job which would extract the VRF name in part of the configuration and then use it as a variable to deploy additional configuration using the VRF name. We have a number of management VRF's and need to deploy a mass configuration change on a number of devices.
    aaa group server tacacs+ blah
    server x.x.x.x
    server x.x.x.x
    ip vrf forwarding test

I am working for a service provider and I was given a task to configure more than 50000 devices (!). First I started with VBS and some scriptable terminal application, but it was too complicated to handle that much data. I then decided to develop my own application dedicated to device mass-configuration. As I understand your question, you may also find it useful : http://www.prettygoodterminal.com

  • CiscoWorks LMS 4.1, syslog analyzer parsing non-Cisco device.

    Hello.
Can Syslog Analyzer parse syslog messages coming from a Non-Cisco device?
I'm trying to parse message from a HP Virtual Connect module without success.
    Thanks.
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,
You could use syslog-ng to write a generic mnemonic into the message and forward it to LMS.
    Something like:
    syslog-ng->add fac-sev-mne: message->lms
However, I would also caution you that LMS is *not* meant to be a "syslog" manager - there are usually way to many syslog messages in most environments for it to handle that many - which is why most syslog managers are standalone servers.
In order to make sure that the NMS systems that syslog-ng forward messages to receive the correct source, syslog-ng needs to be compiled with the source spoof option. This will allow messages received on other NMS’s (such as LMS) to appear to come from the original devices rather than from the syslog-ng server.
    Compiling from source:
Install the syslog-ng prerequisites from Balabit
You must configure syslog-ng with --enable-spoof-source in order to enable the spoof source feature (which is disabled by default).
    ./configure --enable-spoof-source
    make && make install
If you run into any issues during the installation, you can refer to the syslog-ng forum  or you can refer to the syslog-ng knowledge base
Lastly, here's a great paper on syslog management:

Restore iPad to Factory Default; do not restore from backup. It may be the cause of the problem.

ITS NOT EVEN SHOWING UP IN PURCHASED SECTION

    1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
    2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

.Hi,i want send sms to non ios devices using iMessage from my ipadmini cellular .if possible

You can't do that through the Messages app. It can only do iMessage, and iMessages can only be sent to iOS devices.
There are many SMS apps in the app store that may do what you want. Search the app store and try them out.
