Using Logger objects

Does anyone have any info on using Logger objects with Sun Java System Web Server 6.1?
I've discovered that Logger messages show up in the error log, but they're missing some information (notably the class the message is coming from).

I am now trying to log data using Logger object. I use Switch1 for activating LogContinuously mode and Switch2 for breaking logging process. If I turn off Switch1, the logging process stops, its ok. My problem is if Switch1 is still on and I turn off Switch2, the logging process is still running. I seems different from what I have read from Help file. I think the behaviour you described is correct. If you turn on switch2, the logging process will stop, even when switch1 is on. If you turn off switch2, the process will be running.

You create a logger object, generally one for each class. Normally a private static variable points to it and it has a name equal to the FQN of the class.
e.g.

Then there are method on the logger to call for various kinds of output. There' are different logging levels, priorities like SEVERE or DEBUG. When running the logs are configured to ignore messages of less than a set priority.
You can also pass an Exception or Error to the logger which will log the stack trace.

Creating a static method returning Logger Object inside class

Instead of creating Logger Instance in every class , can i do like this way by creating a static method in some class returning a Logger object , and using that method for getting instance of Logger in another class through that method

How to view o/p using Logger

I want to view the output uisng logger. I am using netbeans IDE 6.0. For this i imported the package org.apache.log4j.Logger. I included the log4j.xml file in the source package and org.apache.log4j in the libraries.

It's more normal to do this:

}The advantage is that you don't create a Logger object for every instance of the class in question.
The disadvantage is that it's common to cut and paste the line in question and then forget to change the class reference passed to the getLogger method, leading to some very mildly misleading logger output (not a big deal).

For Implicit conversions: Typical examples are conversions from smaller to larger integral types, and conversions from derived classes to base classes. For the first one, the reference would be different which means it would return a different pointer to
a new object. For the reference type, it actually points to the same memory location, you could use the object.ReferenceEquals() to check it.
For Explicit conversions (casts):Typical examples include numeric conversion to a type that has less precision or a smaller range, and conversion of a base-class instance to a derived class. For first one, it would perform the same with implicit conversions.

If you are planning to use or is currently using OLE objects in Reports-please don't use it as the object maynot reload in future and your report may not even open in Report Builder.I got this message when opening the report containing OLE object:
REP-4004: Error occurred while restoring OLE object
and it refused to open up crashing my days of work.
The pity is I can't open my report even to remove the OLE object.

I know that is weird.I placed the object in the same directory-but in vain.Afterall, what's the logic of putting it in the same directory after embedding it?

Getting 'File not found' error while using server object model code

Hi,
I am using server object model code to pull list data in a console application. My machine has standalone installation of SP 2010. I am getting error 'File Not Found', however the same operation is working fine with client object model code.
Code I am using:

SPSite siteObj=new SPSite (strURL); //getting error here.
I have already checked the below,
1. Framework being used is 3.5.
2. I have proper access to site.
3. Running visual studio as admin.

Couple of pints need to check:
1. User running the console application needs to have at least read permission to the SharePoint databases
2. Set application by changing the "Platform target:" option on the "Build" to "Any CPU"

if you run nw04s SP8, it's a limitation. you can create your own simple types and use them in your entities. but the custom data structures you create in the dictionary don't show in list of available structures when you want to create a new complex attribute

The sparsebundle will expand in size as required.. there is not set size.. when the hard disk is full then each TM should start deleting old backups. If you want to set a size for each backup then you will need to create a disk image.. but really TM can be left to look after this itself.

Error while opening the application using semantic object method

We just got all the Wave 3 apps and SP08 versions on our Fiori server. While setting up the transnational applications , I am not able to open any app using semantic objects. if i put direct URL I can open the app.

Getting error while importing metadata using View Objects

Hi All,
I am trying to create a repository using View Object in OBIEE 11.1.5.1 but getting error while viewing the data, after importing the metadata in the repository "[nQSError: 77031] Error occurs while calling remote service ADFService11G. Details: Runtime error for service -- ADFService11G - oracle/apps/fnd/applcore/common/ApplSession".
I am also getting error "žADFException-2015: The BI Server is incompatible with the BI-ADF Broker Servlet: BI Server protocol version = null, BI-ADF Broker Servlet protocol version = 1" during testing my sample which is deployed to Admin server. I followed BI Adminstrator help file guide in order to create the sample for creating repository using view object.

I am able to import metadata using view object but getting above error("[nQSError: 77031] Error occurs while calling remote service ADFService11G. Details: Runtime error for service -- ADFService11G - oracle/apps/fnd/applcore/common/ApplSession".") while validating the data.
It fails at step 5 of "To import metadata from an ADF Business Component data source:" section of above URL.

Unable to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL

Please can you help with this issue.
We are not able to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL.
What we need is to use default credentials to authenticate user to get only those list which he has access to.
clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials
But in this case we are getting error saying ‘The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.’
Instead of passing Default Credentials, if we pass the User credentials using:
clientContext.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("Administrator", "password", "contoso")
It authenticates the user and works fine. Since we are developing a web part, it would not be possible to pass the user credentials. Also, the sample source code works perfectly fine on the SharePoint 2010 environment. We need to get the same functionality
working for SharePoint 2013.
We are also facing the same issue while authenticating PSI(Project Server Interface) Web services for Project Server 2013.
Can you please let us know how we can overcome the above issue? Please let us know if you need any further information from our end on the same.

I sure that CSOM will authenticate without passing the
"clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials" by default. It will take the current login user credentials by default. For more details about the CSOM operations refer the below link.
