Using Mac as the Bluetooth Audio receiver
I have several voicemails I would like to record, and I thought it would be handy if I could send the audio from my phone via bluetooth to my Mac (instead of a headset) and then I could record them.
I'm not finding much searching Google and other forums. I'm a little new to Bluetooth devices, and I'm starting to wonder if this is possible.
My phone is an Evy3, hopefully it not being an iPhone won't be a limitation.
Any ideas?
David
I have been trying to do something similar. I got it to work between
a PC on XP and the mini in Vista/Bootcamp. In Mac OS it will
connect (as a headset..) and it will show it as getting input
but I think it treats it as a headset and you would need to
open the input with something like audacity.
It will only send mono audio as far as I saw - I think its not
been designed to do this though it should be fully capable,
at least from my perspective :P
In your case trying opening up audacity might work to see it
function, but I know in Linux it will open the mic/input line
regardless of if you are recording in a program or not.

Bluetooth audio receiver (Belkin) causes macbook built-in audio crash
Hello. Sometime I use an Bluetooth audio receiver (some Belkin one) to transmit audio to the sound system of my house. When the macbook dont found that device, then a pop-up come sayin: "We didn't find your bluethoot audio" and there's only one option to choose and that is "Stop using bluetooth audio receiver". Then, the built-in audio of the macbook disappears since I dont know. I cant hear anything, but when you on the computer, the first sound comes out so, its not a hardware problem.... Someone can help me?
Thank you all.I have to day more things about this issue. The problems started after I installed a NATIVE INSTRUMENTS plug-in called DRIVER. I haver searched every trace of it and erased from my HD.
Another thing regarding the issue is that when I try to open the midi configuration of the mac it suddenly crashes.
Any ideas before I take my laptop to the apple store?
THANKS. Have a wonderful 2012!! -
My ipod touch 4th gen won't pair with bluetooth audio receiver?
My ipod touch 4th gen won't pair with my aluratech istream universal bluetooth audio receiver. It automatically paired the first time I used it, but now will not pair. I removed the bluetooth receiver from the ipod because it kept saying make sure the receiver device is on and within range. Now it doesn't even detect the bluetooth receiver. Any ideas?
Thank you! We got the bluetooth receiver to use with our car stereo and our motorcycle stereo and were very frustrated when it quit working. Thank you for helping me solve the problem!

I am using earphones, but the external audio of my mini ipad is still on. How can I turn off the external audio while listening with my headset/earphones?
Other than iMovie, GB always incorporates the audio files into the GB package. So just save or move the GB project to the external drive, and you're done - anything you import, edit or record will be saved to the external drive.

Before commenting - I CANNOT install Mavericks because it'll mess up the versions of Filemaker Pro and Quicken that I use regularly...
Quicken 2007 for Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks) for $15:

It will input your Quicken PPC data file directly if it was Quicken 2005 through 2007. If older you need Quicken 2006 or 2007 PPC first to convert your data file; and this update must be done BEFORE you upgrade to Mavericks:

Filemaker Pro PPC (in this case 7) running in Snow Leopard Server installed into Parallels for use in Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks:

Snow Leopard Server: 1.800.MYAPPLE (1.800.692.7753) - Apple Part Number: MC588Z/A (telephone orders only)
This solution allows you to run your Photoshop Elements in Mavericks concurrently with Filemaker Pro PPC. Mavericks is a free download. -

Using mac book "the late plastic white one ) like DVD player I can't the movie but only the standard desktop immage, and not the movie or the immage I choose from mine 4 the desktop.
I use an adaptator 4 HDMI port to the TVIn System Preferences>Displays look for an option to "mirror" displays. If the checkbox is blank, click on it. Now you should be able to see the movie on the TV.

Mac as a Bluetooth Audio Gateway?
Hmmm, is there any application that will allow me to use my Mac as a Bluetooth-based audio gateway? I know BluePhoneElite does this, but it's slow because my phone doesn't allow multiple bluetooth connections. i'd like to have the audio on all the time, so, anything the phone would sent to a regular headset would sent it to the computer.
So, got any ideas for a constant BT audio gateway app for Mac?I have been trying to do something similar. I got it to work between

Hi I have just got some wireless head phones and while using Bluetooth with my iPhone 4S the sound breaks up all the time but if I use a friends iPhone 5 or my iPad it's fine no problems atall! Any ideas what the problem could be people??????
Unpair the headset from the phone with the problem. Restart the phone (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears), the pair the headset again. Also, look for things nearby that may be causing interference in the Bluetooth band. Cordless phones are a common cause of interference.

I just migrated from MacBook 13' OSX 10.6.8 to MacBook Pro 15' Retina OSX 10.8.2 with the use of Migration Assistant. When attempting to install my Magic Trackpad, the Bluetooth Assistant mentions "name not available" so that the device cannot be detected. In have disconnected the firewall. Thanks for assistance.
Create a new, temporary admin account and see if you can set it up in that account.

Using Mac via a TV Sender / receiver
I would like to know if there is any kit available for me to not only send AV files etc to the TV, but also for me to sit in front of the TV with a wirelesss mouse and keyboard and access the full functionality of my iMac G5, via the TV.
The iMac G5 is in the next door room, about 20 feet away. I have a 1 year old Samsung 36" HD ready flat panel TV, with the usual ports and sockets.
I would just like to sit on my comfy sofa and surf the net, read and respond to e mails, write documents etc, using my TV as a monitor, but accessing my Mac, which will be in another room.
Any thoughts?Hi dagil04 combadible
You will need an Elgato or similar Mac compatible input device.

Sync iCal with iphone using .mac over the air
I can't seem to get my iCal appointments to sync with my iPhone unless I use the USB cable. I thought it would sync over the air the same way my email does. can anyone help?
The iPhone does not support OTA syncing - all data is synced via a USB connection with your computer through iTunes only.
Server stored mailboxes for your .Mac account are kept synchronized since you are accessing the account as an IMAP account - the same applies to any IMAP account accessed with the iPhone. -

ThanksThe GUI version of Disk Utility is very limited in what sort of RAID configurations you can create. It will only allow you to have a single partition on the disk and to make a RAID using that.
Boot Camp requires creating additional partitions on the disk and hence it complaining.
There is a commandline version of Disk Utility called diskutility (duh!). It has far more options available. Details for this command can be obtained by typing man diskutility in Terminal.app.
It appears that in theory you might be able to do the following.
Start off with both disks not setup for RAID
Use Boot Camp to create the Windows partition. Repeat this on each disk.
Then in Terminal.app manually convert the boot Mac partition to a RAID using diskutil appleraid enable
Then add the matching partition on the second drive to make it a working mirror using diskutil appleraid add
Then in Terminal.app manually create a RAID for the Windows partition using both drives and use FAT32 as the format using diskutil appleraid create
Then boot and run the Windows installer and tell it to erase the Windows partition as NTFS
I cannot gurantee the above will work and you should obviously have backups if needed. Another option would be to have the Mac partition covered by RAID but not the Windows partition, this would result in three volumes one Mac RAIDed volume, and two other non RAIDed volumes even though you have two physical disks. -
How to disable the new Bluetooth Audio function?
After updating to OS 3.0 i have an annoying problem with my iPhone connected to a Kenwood car radio (via USB in the glove box):
1. Connect iPhone with car radio via USB
2. Turnin on the radio - now it starts playing songs from the iPhone
3. Now the iPhone connects via Bluetooth to the radio (for use of the handsfree set!)
4. The addressbook is downloaded by the radio via the Bluetooth connection
Till there it worked fine under OS 2.2.1 - i was able to listen to the iPod and to make/receive calls! But now there's step 5:
5. The Bluetooth Audio function is activated - and i can hear no more sound although the playback of the song is resumed!
There's a workaround for this issue: I can tap on the iPod-Icon on the iPhone which says that the iPhone is connected to an equipment. There i can tap on a bluetooth icon in the lower right corner in which i can select the device for audio output: Bluetooth or Dock.
This is really annoying (even more due to the bad qualitiy of the bluetooth audio), so where can i disable this new "feature"?!I too am having this problem. It seems as though I also have to unplug and re-plugin my iPhone dock connector to make it switch to the USB output I need for my JVC KD-R800 receiver in my car. I can't seem to find a way to permanently disable A2DP functionality on either my iPhone or my Car's audio receiver.
We really do need some sort of option to either disable A2DP altogether or setup a "priority" list of items. Personally, I'd love to have the iPhone output in an order something like the following:
1st - Dock Connector (USB)
2nd - Bluetooth A2DP
3rd - Headphones / iPhone Speaker
Hopefully someone find out of a permanent workaround or solution soon. I just got this new receiver for my car and it messes everything up!
