Using Mail as my School E-mail

I attend school at Ohio University. OU uses an e-mail system called "Mulberry" for school e-mail and such. Mulberry an old app. I would much rather use Mail. I went to Mulberry's Preferences and got the following information: Account Type, Description, Email Address, Full Name, Incoming mail server, User Name and password. I copy and pasted everything. Mail says that the password is incorrect and it wont work. I really want to use Mail. Is there anyway to do this or is Mulberry the only way? Thanks

What type of email account is your school account?
If a POP or IMAP type account, it should work with the Mail.app.
Does Mulberry reveal the password for the account that allows for copy/paste of the password?
Instead of copy/paste, write down the account settings.
Delete and recreate the account entering the account settings manually.

I have a school e-mail ([email protected]) and cant get it to work with the mail app. I followed google's instructions on their page (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77702&topic=12814) and have imap enabled on my iPod. But it cant connect.
I tried using POP and imap. It will either say my password is not correct, or it cant connect to imap.google.com. I know the password is correct, it works perfectly fine when I try and access it through safari on the touch. I do have a always on internet connection (connect through a Apple AirPort Extreme, to my modem)
My AOL and Yahoo accounts work perfectly fine. But this one dosent. Is there any way to get it to work?

I use Mail on my touch to get to my Google Apps Gmail account, so I know it works.
Check all settings in Settings/Mail, COntacts, Calendars/your account.
imap.google.com is correct if it is an IMAP account (of course... you can check this via the web or your school's help desk).
Then go to Advanced. I have Use SSL selected, Authentication: Password, and server port 993.

How do I connect my School E-mail to Mail on my Mac

I have my Hotmail account already added so i thought i might add a new account, being my school E-mail. I'm in high school, so how do i do it.
I get to this section and when i press continue, it says, 'the POP sever is not responding.' Have I filled out something wrong, how do i get it working?

If you are using Outlook that comes with Office 2011 for Mac you should be using MS Exchange settings not trying to connect using POP
In Outlook add a new account and just input your [email protected] and the correct password for that account and let Outlook take care of all the other settings. It is a good idea to make sure all of the Office programs are updated to the newest update.

IPhone + School E-mail

Well, first off this is my first post. I recently join this site because i was pretty pumped to find out i was getting an iPhone pretty soon. Well anyways, i love this forum so far and you guys seem to have all the answer so i figured i would ask one. I know the iPhone has an e-mail function, but i was wondering if there is anyway to set it up to where when i open it it will open my schools e-mail account. We use goldlink, hopefully you guys can help and hopefully my question makes since.

Are you currently accessing your school email account with an email client on your computer - if you have a Mac - with the Mail.app, or if you have a Windows PC - with Outlook or Outlook Express if you are running XP, or with Windows Mail if you are running Vista?
If so, you can get the required account settings from the email client used on your computer for accessing the account.
If not, you can contact whoever at your school takes care of setting up email accounts for students and ask what are the required account settings for accessing your school email account with an email client.

In Gmail I can setup other accounts to "send" email from- can I use these other addresses in Mac Mail

In Gmail if you click the 'cog' button under your username you can choose "Settings" from the drop down menu. From Settings you choose the accounts and import tab and can enter other email addresses. This is useful to me because I have an email address [email protected] and while foobar.com host a server, the is no actual mail server but it can forward emails to aliases on that domain to some other another email address setup by admin.
When I compose a message in Gmail in the browser I can choose [email protected] or [email protected] as my send address. I almost exclusively use my gmail account through Mac Mail on my MBP as an IMAP account.
My question is, can I set up Mac mail in some way to send an email from the gmail server but using the alastair@foobar alias(es) as the send address?

Did you check your user name and password in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your email account, tap SMTP, then tap the primary server name. Make sure the settings there are correct.

Rather than using Migration Assistant, which can cause trouble with the PPC to Intel change, simply boot the G5 in FireWire target disk mode and manually transfer the following:
/Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
You might want to look over Kappy's helpful guide for migrating, which covers the full process for a manual migration (including the above files).

ANSWERING MY OWN POST:
I have tried reinstalling Mail from my Snow Leopard upgrade disk directly and tried it using Pacifist. Neither worked because both simply reinstalled version 4.0. Fortunately, I have a MacBook Pro and it has version 4.1. I copied this directly, which was not ideal (it was quite confused about my mailboxes), but it worked.
The problem is that +Software Update+ did not detect the old version of Mail and Apple does not provide a direct way (that I could find) of downloading the latest version. Each time I downloaded Mail from Apple, it was version 4.0.

Google them to confirm the settings that you need for the outgoing server, then check the setting you entered on the pad. Pay real close attention to the outgoing server name, and port. You may need to change in on the pad.

Can't send e-mails via Mail with a Gmail e-mail address using Sky internet

Can anyone help? My brother has an iBook G4 Mac OS X 4.1 and is trying to send e-mails via Mail with a Googlemail e-mail account. He is using Sky for his broadband. I assume it has something to do with his outgoing smtp e-mail Preferences in Mail, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. He can receive e-mails OK, its just that when he tries to send he gets the 'server can't send error'. Any ideas?

I have a problem when trying to sign emails with an X.509 certificate in Outlook 2010. I constantly get the error message. The certificate is Verified for the email address I'm sending from.

You may have checked the option "Encrypt contents and attachments for outgoing messages" in Outlook, please uncheck this to test if the problem persists.
File -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings -> E-mail Security -> Clear the checkbox "Encrypt contents and attachments for outgoing messages" -> OK.

I'm using OS 10.6.8 and Mail 4.5. When I receive mails with attachments which are visible the save button doesn't work. Some contacts have problems opening files sent by me using Mail too. This was never a problem on pre-Intel. A real Mac **** up !

Can you drag and drop the attachments visible in the email to the Desktop OK or does that fail ?
Re the sending: Are these recipients on Mac's or PC's as the file type could be an issue, if on Mac's then try setting the Mail Preferences Composing setting to Plain Text not Rich Text and see if that improves things.

Problems using the 'stationery template' feature in mail

I have used the stationery templates feature in mail without any problems in the past. Now when i send a stationery template, like a photo template, the email is unreadable for the people receiving my emails (both Mac & PC). Sometimes the email looks like a Picasso painting or the receiver gets a bunch of attachments as if the email came in a bunch of separate files. Could this be possible due to the upgrade to 10.6 from 10.5? Or am i doing something wrong? Is there a separate upgrade for this?

How to skip dialogue box which ask you to confirm the operation when your used labview to send an e-mail from Outlook?

I'm using Labview to send an e-mail from outlook and everytime I got a dialogue box which inform that a software is trying to send an e-mail. To send this e-mail I have to confirm operation. How can I avoid this dialogue box ?

I don't know what code you're using but the attached VI works with my version of Outlook and doesn't have any pop-up messages. I downloaded it from somewhere a while ago but don't remember where it was from.
