Using mail for Yahoo

I got the mail application on my iMAC G5 als (10.4.3 tiger) to work fine with AOL. But when trying to enter the incomming mail address for my Yahoo mail account it says the server can not be found.
Am using pop.mail.yahoo.com as incomming server, have designated this as a POP server in the setup menu.
Any ideas?

  • Using mail for a yahoo account

Is there any way I can use Mail for my yahoo mail account?

This will only work if you are not a resident of the US. Or so I am told.
    1. Log into your yahoo account using your web browser
    2. Click on options
    3. Click on pop access and forwarding
    4. Click on web and pop access
    5. Set the setting to how you want them.
    6. Set up mail to access your yahoo account.

Not able to create new e-mail on N8 using Mail for Exchange.
Currently using google for my domain, but settings are the same as explained on the google Sync webpage: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=147951
When creating reply on mail the application crashes.  When creating new mail it says "Kan bewerking niet uitvoeren" in english: "Unable to execute action".
Any idea why creating mail is not possible?

The cheap & easy way is to just drag the app to the Trash.
    If you want to get all of the associated files use an app deleting app like the free AppCleaner;
    http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/
Just drag an app and drop it on the AppCleaner icon in the Dock and it will find and present to you all the files it thinks are associated with the app. You can uncheck any that you want to keep and then let AppCleaner Trash the rest.

  • TS3276 I use Mail for my email and lately, if I get an email coming in while writing one, the program freezes for a few seconds. Frustrating.

I have a 27" iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I use Mail for my email. Just in the past 2 -3 months, if I'm writing an email while another one is coming in to the inbox, the program freezes, the spinning colour ball appears and I can't continue typing for 5 seconds or more. I get and write a lot of emails so it's frustrating.
I've also noticed that sending messages is taking longer than it used to. The program spins its wheels for a few seconds before sending. Definitely noticeably longer than prior to this situation. Any ideas anyone?

    Regards,
Resetting the phone will remove MfE mailbox from the phone. When you recreate the account, you can choose what gets synced in the initial sync and which part is authoritative, device or server.

Thanks.  I used an Apple in 79-81, and got the first PC in EDS (Ross Perot) in Jan, 82.  Installed corporate email in 83.  Now have 4 pcs in a house of 2 people, supporting our 5 kids and 15 grandkids.  The iPad is what it took to get my wife to use her own email address.  I should have known about the red circle - my bad.  I did get fixed with a reset.  Vern Olson

  • E71: audio notifications for email using Mail for ...

I can't get audio (or, for that matter vibrate) notifications for incoming email messages in my Mail for Exchange (MFE) account.
My phone is a Nokia E71-2 and I recently upgraded to firmware version 200.21.118 to see if that would cure the problem, but it did not.  I've checked the Profile settings and made sure that email notifications are turned on, but audio notifications still dont work.  For a while, I used Yahoo mail and the notifications seemed to work just fine for my Yahoo account. Unfortunately, I'm much more interested in using my MFE email account.  I thought that perhaps the settings only applied to my Yahoo account so I have deleted it from the phone.  The only active email account on my phone today is the MFE account - but still no audio notifications.
Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.

I am not sure if this will work for you guys since I am in the US, but I think I figured out the issue. You need to change the settings for the home screen to alert you when messages arrive in the Mail for Exchange section.
    To do this:
Menu > Settings > General > Personalization > Home Screen > (Make sure Home Screen is ACTIVE) Mode Settings > Home Screen Applications > E-mail 1 Notification > Select Mail for Exchange
    That should work.

  • Using mail for hotmail

    Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to use Mail as a basis for accessing my hotmail account, if that makes sense? I believe that something similar can be done with Outlook express.

  • Can't use Mail for Exchange With E71

I downloaded MFE for My nokia E71, and as i am using Microsoft Exchangelabs.com as my exchange server. unfortunately MFE is not working, i mailed a couple of MS technical support and the final remark was
(the implementation of the Exchange ActiveSync is not compatible with Exchange Labs. For example, E71 may not support wild card certificate (*.exchangelabs.com) Exchange Labs uses for ActiveSync.)
I installed Roadsync to check on the exchangelabs.com service, It works smothly. However I would prefer to Use MFE. Could any one help me on this issue.

After playing around for a while, I'm now able to get my exchange mails working.
    The issue was:
I installed MfE by using my phone browser which was working synced but didn't give me the icon to check my mails.
Solution to this particular issue is:
Un installed the MfE which i previously downloaded.
I downloaded MfE from Nokia web site and used Nokia PC Suite to install in on my phone.
    Re created the profile
    Synced it.
and I was able to see the Mail for exchange icon to check my mails.

  • Havent used mail for while, so need to download only the latest mails

I was previously on snow lepoard and just recently updated to Lion.  I used the Mail app for a bit when I was on SL and havent used it for a year now. I want to start using the mail app on Lion, but I dont want it to download the 1800+ (old and new)  emails from my hotmail account. Is there a way to download just the latest emails.
    Thank you

I'm reading through the poor documentation for PhoneFactor and it appears to support MacOS. That being said, Option 1 will not happen at an Apple Store. You will need to install Windows yourself. If you use BootCamp, then a 20 GB partition is probably the minimum you can get away with for Windows 7. A better solution is to run Windows in a virtual machine program such as Fusion, Parallels or VirtualBox. Most of these virtaual machines will allow you to run Windows an Mac software side by side so you do not have to reboot your system over and over between Mac and Windows. They also feature an option to have hard drive space that expands and contracts for Windows as you need it automatically. Any of these are beyond the scope of this user forum though.

  • Cannot unlock E75 after using Mail for Exchange

    Hi,
I tried Mail for Exchange with my new Nokia E75 and it worked very well, fetched my company e-mail and everything looked good. During the installation the setup wizard asked whether to sync and how often, etc and I said yes. The setup program insisted that I need to take phone locking into use. It sounded strange but I accepted.
Now I see that I cannot connect my Nokia E75 to my computer with USB anymore as it is in locked mode! When trying to unlock the from from control panel, all I get is "Unable to unlock the phone". I even removed the whole Mail for Exchange mailbox configuration but it did not help.
So two question: a) are Mail for Exchange and USB really mutually exclusive? b) how I can unlock my phone?
    Thanks!
