Using map with 3gs

I was using the map program on my 3gs last week and while driving for about 30 minutes the map always stayed on. last night I tried using maps again and after 5 minutes it went off so I had to unlock it again to see the maps. Isn't the map function supposed to stay on as long as you are using it or do I have to set my phone to never auto lock while using the map?

If you engage the tracking mode as described on page 115 of User Guide, your present position will center with a moving map display. This moving map will prevent automatic sleep as the map is constantly changing.

  • Using MAPI with JavaMail

I want to use MAPI protocol to send mail. Is it possible with java mail API.
I would appreciate if some body can give me a solution.
    Thanks
    Saikumar

There are only two JavaMail providers by Sun and are for POP3 and IMAP.
For MAPI, there is no JavaMail provider, but JIntegra has a product called
    JESP-JavaMail Exchange Service Provider.
This is JavaMail implementation and is like a provider.
You can use this provider, which internally makes MAPI calls.

  • Can I use "Maps" with WiFi anywhere (in Europe) without incurring data charges?

Hertz offers a mobile WiFi with a rental vehicle, and I'm wondering whether I can use "Maps" through that system?  Would I have to ensure network connections are off?  Appreciate any expertise on this one.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You will experience no cost as long as you're on the wifi connection at all times. When I was in europe, my "data while roaming" option was set to off. I wouldn't use any data unless I was connected to a wifi hotspot somewhere, which are quite common in Europe.
To set the data services off while roaming, open up your settings. Go to Network Connections > Mobile Network. You can toggle your mobile network to off if you don't want to use your phone while in Europe or leave it on up to you but for data, use the drop down option and set it to Off. This way it won't use data over any mobile network and so only when using WiFi.

  • Using Maps with Apple

I'm totally confused about getting going using mapping software. I'd like to be able to plot routes along roads in the midwest. Any notion of how to proceed? What do I need to get going?

Depending on exactly what you want to do, http://maps.google.com may do the job.
Click the "Get Directions" link and input start and stop points.
Then you can drag the router (blue line) and even the start and stop points to fine tune the solution. You can easily move the line to use preferred roads or even to account for intermediate stops.
After you get the map looking the way you want, you can print it or email a link (so others can use the map).

  • Using iPad maps with no wifi

    HI,
im going travelling soon, Im bring my iPad mini retina wifi and I was wondering if I would still be able to use maps with no wifi Connection. I understand that it won't be able to pin point my location but will it still be able to load up maps so that I can manually use it like you would with a paper map.
    thanks
    matt

Without an internet connection a wifi-only iPad only be able to locate you nor load the Maps app - only cellular iPads have a built-in GPS chip, wifi-only iPads rely on getting their location from the router that they are connected to being in Apple's database.
There are some external GPS units that appear to work with an iPad.
There are also maps apps where the maps are stored within the app, and which therefore don't require an internet connection to download them

  • I'm buying a 4s tomorrow, can i use my old 3gs as an itouch with wifi for my kid?

I'm buying a 4s tomorrow, but i was wondering if i can use my old 3gs as an itouch with wifi for my son to use?

Yes of course, that is possible.
The iPhone works just like an iPod Touch if you don't insert a SIM card. It will just display "No SIM" instead of the signal bars.
The "Phone and Message Apps" will still be visible, but basically the phone won't call or text anyway, because it lacks the SIM card.
    Best Regards

  • Can i use WebApps to build a Google map with polygon territories instead of points (pins)?

I built a map with Google Maps Engine Pro - http://www.jmbcompanies.com/Services/Mitigation/map.
It showcases territories using a Google map polygon shape.  I wrote custom KML to create it.  However, with Google Maps Engine pro you cannot create custom hyperlinks.  It will link a URL that you put in the data, but you cannot name it or target the parent window, so therefore it opens a new tab for each click to more details.  I really want it to open the WebApp detail page for that item within the same window.
So, is there a way to use the BC integrated Google maps technology and show polygons instead of points on the map? I've used {module_webappsmap,20754,a} to place individual locations on a map, but what about territories or polygon areas?
I'm sure that I can create a WebApp to generate the KML for each placeholder.  But how do I turn that into a map?
    THANKS!!

You can not create a kml file in BC through webapps. Modules do not work in other file types and you do not have server code access to generate a file type of results.
You need to use the google API and do this yourself or you can just use this:
And embed it into a custom field. My Maps

  • How to use tile map with AS3?

I have a file that contains a bunch of isometric tiles that I need to make a map with, much like a sprite sheet but not for making animations. So using AS3, how can I divide that file into the different tiles, knowing the coordinates of each of them. Or can it be done automatically in Flash itself, so I can access each tile from AS3?
Furthermore I've been a programmer for a couple of decades but I am new to Flash. I know there are a ton of DisplayObjects like Bitmap, Sprite, Shape, MovieClip, Symbol etc. But which one would be better to use for that file? I need to access it from AS3 as described above, but I don't need it to react to mouse events, stretch or have children, just extract each tile and move it onto the stage with AS3.
It seems to be down to a choice between Bitmap and Shape, since they're both lightweight, but I couldn't find out what the advantages and disadvantages of them are, as there was no comparison between those two on Google, though between a lot of the other objects. And Symbol seems like an idea too, since when I googled this, I found a lot of pages saying that you should convert a Bitmap to a Symbol, but I never found out why.
Oh, and since I'm building an isometric map, all the tiles and all other graphics I'll be using, will be Bitmap and not Vector since I'm drawing the graphics in pixelart.

create one tile symbol (movieclip or sprite so you can use actionscript to reference tile properties - like its x and y) and arrange them (using code or by hand) into your map.
enable the cacheAsBitmap property of your map (that has some number of tile children).
assign the mouseEnabled property of the map to false and its mouseChildren property to false.

  • Who use sql-mapping with java.util.regex?

    Hi everyone:
I use the IBatis SQL-Mapping and I think it is very good. Now I want to add the search function to my BBS forum.I also want to display the content high light like jive.I mean that if I want to find the string "ibatis",then the search result "ibatis" will be high light displayed.
So I must use the java.util.regex in jsdk1.4.But the problem is that what I get is a List if I use sql-mapping.For example:
              String resource="conf/XML/sql/lyo-sql-map.xml";
              Reader reader=Resources.getResourceAsReader(resource);
              sqlmap=XmlSqlMapBuilder.buildSqlMap(reader);
              List articlelist=sqlmap.executeQueryForList("selectSiteArticle","%"+icontent+"%");
The result I get is a List and I have no time to use regex.
I don't know whether I could do this:
Iterate the List, use the regex and later place all the object back to the List.
    It's right?
How to use regex with sql-mapping?Thks

    Any idea? :(

  • Performance problem in Mapping Designer using UDF with external imports

    Hello,
we do have a big performance problem in developing (not in execution) graphical Mappings as far as we use "user defined functions" (UDF) with include-entries referencing to jar files which are imported as "imported archives".
For example the execution of invice mapping with a little bit bigger test file in the Mapping designer:
    - after opening, not in change mod: 6 seconds
    - after switching to change mod: 37 seconds (that's clear, now everything is compiled first)
    - after adding "com.seeburger.functions.permstore.CounterFactory;" into the "import" field of one UDF, no other change: 227 seconds
    - after saving and submiting the changlist (no longer in change mode): 6 seconds
    - after switching to change mode: 227 seconds
So execution speed of testing (and also when watching queues) only increases in changemod more then three minutes when using UDF with imports, referencing to external JAR files. It doesn't depend on Seeburger functions (we are using XI also for EDIFACT, so we also use some Seeburger functions), I can reproduce it with any other JAR file which is used from a UDF.
Using java included functions like "java.text.NumberFormat;" in "Import" doesn't slow down the testing.
Can anybody reproduce this? We are using XI 3.0 SP19 on a AIX machine, so we also have to use the Java version from IBM.
    cu
    Manfred

Problem was fixed by a upgrad of the JDK.

  • Raw materials on MAP with split valuation used in standard cost estimate

We have a few raw materials which are purchased from different vendors and of different brands. We have opened split valuations for these raw materials. These raw materials are later used in manufacture of different finished goods. We use MAP for raw materials and Std. for finished goods. What configuration and processing steps will be required to run standards cost estimate and what will be standard price for a finished good considering the following example:
    Material X is finished good
Raw Material A with split valuation @ USD 5 (brand aplha)   &   USD  10 (brand beta)
Raw Material B without split valuation @ USD 1
It is expected that we used brand aplha 60% of the time and brand beta 40% of the time and production batch size is usually 100 Kg.
    Please reply
Edited by: Chris SAP on Sep 29, 2011 7:56 AM

    hi chris
Hope you have configured the material A for split valuation. while calculating standard cost estimate for the material C. through ck11n, the system will pick up the header price from material master.
But here you are saying that you have chances of using the material A, 60% of brand alpha and 40% brand beta
Instead of using split valuation use mixed costing concept. create the material A with separate Ids and create two boms one with alpha and the other with beta.
create procurement alternative in CK91N and mixed ratio with Ck94 and release the mixed cost estimate
please go through this thread also
