Using Maps Application In Other Countries?

I bought an iPhone in the U.S. but am going overseas in the near future. I'm wondering if the Maps application will work in other countries. Does the iPhone already contain all of the map files required, or do I need to download new map files for the countries I will be visiting? If I need to download new map files, where do I download them from?

The maps data, which is provided by Google, is not stored locally on your iPhone. The maps data/location requested must be downloaded from the internet - via an available wi-fi network that you have access to, or via the cellular network.
If Google has maps data available for a given country/location, it will be available to you on the iPhone, but an internet connection is required for accessing maps data, which is not stored locally on your iPhone.

The iPhone includes A-GPS or assisted GPS to speed up the tracking process.
The iPhone's GPS radio is functional by itself, but maps data must be downloaded to the iPhone via an available wi-fi network that you have access to, or via a cellular data/internet connection.
If you are roaming internationally with data roaming off, no maps data will be downloaded/available. Maps data is not stored locally on the iPhone.

Using internet sharing in other countries

Hello,
I've bought a HTC 8X unlocked cellphone from Verizon and moved to Brazil since them.
How can I use internet sharing here? The cellphone says it's not allowed, although my internet plan here does allow me to do that.
It seems besides being an unlocked phone, Verizon is still locking the internet sharing option.
Any help is really appreciated,

The answer is not really, but sort of.
If you have a US mailing address, a credit card that bills to that address, and a US Social Security Number, you can purchase and activate an iPhone in the US. The problem is that the phone is locked to AT&T as the mobile provider, so when you go to those countries, you will be roaming, which is expensive for calls and outlandishly expensive for data. You will not be able to inset a SIM card from a local mobile provider; it will not work. Also, AT&T may cancel you for roaming too much.
A fair number of people outside the US (and inside as well) appear to have purchased iPhones and hacked them so that they can be used as an iPod and WiFi device but not as a phone. I think those in other countries are hoping that someday they will be able to use the phone features in their country, though it is not certain that will ever be the case.

Cant find the BB maps application and others

Hello all,
I have my BB 8900 curve brand new only 4-5 days old. In the main menu I can not see any icon of the BlackBerry maps plus one more application that I installed via the computer.
These applications appear as installed in the Advanced Options-> Applications but they do not appear in any folder as an executable icon like Options, SMS, Media etc.
Where can I find them and and make them appear in the main menu?

I think what happened here is you attempted to mix and match versions of Garageband. Your issues are unlikely to have to do with Leopard versus Tiger. Since both Macs you have are Intel CPU Macs and they are just simply different generations of Mac Pro, your best method of migrating would be the migration assistant. Drag and dropping the audio files, after deleting what came with machine introduces a lot of room for error. So first, restore Garageband following these instructions from the discs that shipped with your Mac:

Don't trash the Library files, those are bad habits you should avoid.

Can I use this phone in other countries?

Does anyone know if i can buy this iphone from USA and use in in australia, or does it have to be with AT&T contract plan? I want to use australian sim card in it.

Doubt it, as uses Edge, which only Telstra use, and I'm sure there would be other software complications. Probably tries to phone home to AT&T on plugging-in.
What are the chances of still using for internet and as ipod if phone part doesn't work? If so I'll import one.

Hey there and welcome to the community! Unfortunately, gift cards can only be redeemed in the country in which they were purchased.
I recommend reaching out directly to Spotify Support. They can be reached through their Twitter Page @SpotifyCares or through the online contact form. There's no guarantee that they can change the info on the card, but it's worth asking!
Make sure to check your inbox and junk folder for an email from Spotify. Once you get it, make sure to reply back right away, even if it says it's from a "no-reply" email.

If you bought a unlocked Iphone 4 from apple (in the UK) then yes. you can use the phone in other countries and use the countries sim cards if they compatible with the iphone 4.
If you bought from o2, vodafone and so on. then you will have to use those sims in the other countries.
also your warranty is only valid in the country where you bought the phone.(not 100% sure on this tho. just what i have heard)

I currently use parameters, and they are passed from the form to the report. Report is then generated based on a function returning ‘strongly typed’ cursor. The ‘strongly typed’ cursor in my case returns a record consisting of an orderly collection of fields.
This collection of fields is returned by another function that relies on the IF … THEN logic.
However, the number of IF ... THEN statements is quite large (currently 64 covering all possible combinations of 6 parameters available in the form).
I would like to avoid the large number of IF … THEN statements, and hope that there is a way of passing a string to a query, where the Dynamic SQL would in Select close and Where close reflect parameters passed by the form.
In addition to this I would like to avoid creating and populating a table or a view dedicated to the report, because this may lead to a conflict in case of multiple users concurrently generating reports with different choice of parameters.

In iOS6, the new map stop me to view maps in other countries

Previously, when iOS using Google Map, I can view other countries' maps using my iPhone. It is very useful if I plan to travel to other countries.
However, after I upgrade to iOS6, I found it is really a disaster. I am in China and if I want to search a location in US, I got nothing.
I really want to know if I need to travel to US, how can I use the Map? Does apple now thing the user of iPhone will stay in their own country and will not travel to other countries?

download the Ovi nokia suite and from there u can access the maps and then download the eygeptian map from africa section ... just download the ovi suite from nokia site:

No. It downloads the maps as it needs them.
A very small portion of the map is cached in memory when offline, so you can see the last area you looked at, but as soon as you want to move the map, or look elsewhere it will need an internet connection to download from Google.
There are standalone map apps available in the AppStore if you search for the area you want.

This covers almost all the 2G and 3G standards. You will most likely be ok on 3G and in edge cases, at an absolute minimum you will have EDGE speeds since both US and EU frequencies are covered - blech :-)

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

I have an answer to my question. There is a bug in IOS8 that prevents third party applications to talk to the Health Application. Apple is trying to fix it ASAP
