Using media buttons in itunes on Equium P200

Is it possible to use the media buttons on my Equim P-200 notebook in itunes when its not the open window?
They work if ive got it open but not if its not. This doesnt really help me much because i could just hit space.
Are there some setting somewhere i can change to fix this

Don't know how to fix this in detail, as I have some "problem" with Media Player Classic, which only work with those buttons, when focus lies on this program.
So, maybe you can make a work-around, if you can change some itune window settings, to be always on top, so that it has focus all the time.
Then, not to disturb you on your desktop, you could resize window and position the small window somewhere it does not bother you.

Media Buttons With iTunes

I have a Saitek Eclipse II keyboard, which has media buttons on it for being used with music. It has buttons to switch to the next and previous song, stop, play, and volume control. All of these work fine when I am in the actual iTunes window, but when I have internet explorer or something else up the hotkeys don't work. I've talked with people who said they have the same issue, but their media buttons work with other music playing programs such as Winamp. Just wondering if anything can be done to get my buttons to work with iTunes. Thanks.

I speculate that your keyboard drivers have to support this function; i.e. you have to ask the keyboard manufacturer to implement that function.

As far as I know it is not possible. I have tried it with older notebook models but without success. It works just with Microsoft Media player.
For a long time ago Toshiba has had a small player installed on a few units (dont remember which notebook models) and it was possible to use them with this Toshiba designed player.

Using Media Monkey and ITunes help

I have used Media Monkey for years to sync, burn, play... (I used to have a Sansa Mp3). I like the interface much better on Media Monkey and my children find it easier to just pull up and play music. We now have 2 ipod in our family and I am trying to get used to Itunes-not a fan yet. I want to make sure that I am not doubling up on my downloads. Can I save everything from my ripped cds to my music folder only. Sounds like Itunes automatically creates a back up folder?? Also, how do I move a song without it losing it's path in Itunes. I downloaded to my desktop so the songs were easy to find, after I added them to Itunes and Media Monkey I moved them to my music folder and Itunes could not locate the songs. So I guess overall I am trying to understand the most efficient avenue to download to Itunes and Media Monkey.

To my disappointment I have just Uninstalled Media Monkey. I was hoping to purchase the full license but the program is still in its development stage. It is full of bugs.
1) The Tech support didn't even try to solve the problems 2) The tagging of files is useless. 3) creating playlists is problematic (it won't let you put the tracks in the order you want)
The best program for ripping is Nero. I have to use itunes for syncing and updating.

Dell laptop media buttons and iTunes?

I have a dell laptop and love iTunes. However, the media buttons on the front only work when iTunes has focus. I have heard of a plug-in that allows it to grab the commands at anytime. Could anyone here direct me to that plug-in?

I have the same problem with my HP laptop media controls. In iTunes 7.1.x, the volume keys on my laptop double registered whenever iTunes was open and not focused on the program, so the volume would go up/down twice at one push and when pressing mute, it would actually mute then unmute as you released the button. However, the play/pause, stop, ff/rev keys worked fine.

Satellite A300 and WIn7 - cannot use media buttons

I have Satellite A300 laptop.
Recently I reinstalled my Windows 7 Pro x64 using update option (not clean install). So I kept my program and settings. However the media player panel (or whatever it is called) that lets me play, stop music, change songs etc. is not fully working. I can't use 2 "buttons": one that lets me turn on/off highlighting and the other one that turns media player on.
I need them working. I tired Toshiba button support, but I don't know what to do there.

What you must install is Toshiba Value Added Package. I use Win7 on my A300 and all buttons work perfectly. But I use 32bit version.
I dont know if your A300 is supported for Win7 64 bit but you can try to use THIS version.
Before you start installation remove old version, if exist, restart notebook and install this version.

Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q870 power button unresponsive but laptop powers up using media control button

Well this is perplexing, I could really use some help.
My power button on my Qosmio X505-Q870 is completely unresponsive. I've tried holding it for 30 seconds, but to no avail. I removed the battery & replaced the battery, testing the power button by pressing it for 30 seconds or rapidly pressing it - makes no difference whatsoever. But then, I noticed if I touch the media touch button, the computer powers up! (And opens up Windows Media Player) Very stealthy...
Now when the laptop is already powered up, pressing the media button does not turn it off. It only opens Windows Media Player.
Here is some background info that may or may not be helpful:
1 1/2 years ago:
RAM was upgraded to 8 MB
I replaced the HDD with a SSD, and then installed the HDD into the 2nd bay.
Computer has been running fine since these changes, aside from running hot when gaming.
2 days ago:
I upgraded the SSD to a larger drive.
Then, I disassembled the laptop with the intent to apply some thermal compound and clean the fans to address the temperature issues. I could not complete this task because 2 screws were stripped and I couldn't get the cover off, afterall.
I did not swap any connections, but did notice one seemed a bit loose after carefully lifting up the keyboard so I gently eased it back in to place.
I put the laptop back together, and that is when the power button and media center button issue began. So it must be a result of either opening the case or upgrading the SSD.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this to happen?
And if anyone has a trick to remove stripped screws without taking a drill to my laptop - I'd love to hear your ideas. Thanks!!

No Media Button using Palm Desk top 6.2 and Windows Vista

I installed Palm Desk Top on my XP machine today and noticed a Media Button. I have been using the same version of Palm Desk Top on MY laptop which runs Vista Home Premium. How can I get the Media button on my Vista machine?

This version of Palm Desktop (and Hotsync) are from Access (the company that acquired PalmSource). Palm does not own these applications and may not have legal rights to modiify them any longer.
Access provided the absolute minimum and did not include any enhancements that Palm made to prior versions of these applications when Palm and PalmSource had better working relations.
Access is currently primarily interested in getting their competing operating system to market.

ITunes 10 not using Media folder

I recently upgraded a machine to iTunes 10 and notice that when I now add music, it does so to a "Music" folder that is at the same level in the file structure as the "iTunes Media" folder.
It is not adding music to the Music folder inside of the "iTunes Media" folder.
However if I go to "organise library" the "Ugrade to iTunes Media Organisation" is greyed out and I'm notified that "Your media is already organisd as an iTunes Media folder"
However the way music us being added is as if the Library is not using newer method of iTunes Media organisation.
Any clues on this would be appreciated.

Look at Edit > Preferences > Advanced, and you will see the current location of the iTunes Media folder. This is where newly ripped or purchased tracks will be added. It does not affect the location of files already in your library.
if you have tracks in other locations and want to copy them to the current iTunes Media Folder, you can use the Consolidate command.

How can I use the media Buttons on my M40X with WinAmp?

Today I got my M40X and i have a question.
There are 5 media Button left of the keybord (CD/DVD, Play/pause, Stop, <-/->)
Is it possible to use them with WinAmp?
In the Toshiba Assist i got the CD/DVD button used to start WinAmp (by use him to start a .exe) but the Play/pause...dont work. In the field media Apps the only Player i can choose is Win MP10 (I hate this piece of sh*t).
How can I use these Button with WinAmp?

MBA 13" media buttons not working with iTunes

I just got my mba 13" and everything is great, but for some reason the media buttons do not work with itunes. I've tried them with vlc and other applications and they work fine. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hello,
after shutting down my laptop, one week ago, the media buttons suddenly stopped working.
The weird thing is that they are flashing all the time, even when the laptop is off.
I downloaded the VAP from toshiba website (although the version was a 2009 one, if there is a new one for my laptop please let me know. Maybe I can use a VAP of a similar model.
My system is Windows 7
the other weird thing is that I disabled the illumination option from the F2 setup but the media buttons are still on.
I also tried to take the battery off, etc but nothing
any ideas?

The VAP is an Toshiba software and as far as I know you can use the other version of VAP which was released for other notebook series.
For example you could use the VAP released for Satellite P500, P750 series or higher.
But Im wondering why the buttons led is still ON even if the Illumination is disabled in BIOS.

This was also my idea disconnect AC adaptor, remove battery, press and hold power button 30sec long.
Then connect the AC adaptor and check the Multimedia button functionality.

If you are having issues with the functions keys, then check the settings in System Preferences > Keyboard and look to see if Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys is unchecked so you can use it properly.

HT4623 I cannot update my iOS even when I use the update button from iTunes.

When I use the update button from iTunes it gives me this message " the iPad soft where update server could not be contacted (that's in boldface). Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connections is active, or try again later." my network settings are active and correct (I think it is correct) and I tried again later many times. Please help me I want to go to iOS 6.1.

This happens a lot! Go to settings> general> reset> reset network settings. When this is completed, anything stopping the update will be removed. Try it again after that.
