You can migrate all your data to Filemaker using
http://www.fmpromigrator.com/
Or link Filemaker to ODBC with Actual Technologies ODBC plugin:
http://www.actualtechnologies.com/
Or run one of the Windows on MacIntel solutions such as:

Running Windows or using a suite such as Libre Office. It is similar to Office 2007 for Windows, but runs on a Mac, and contains a database manage that is Access compatible.

How can I use Microsoft Access on my Mac Pro?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Microsoft Access isn't available for OS X, so you can't use it. If you need it, you have to install Windows on a virtual machine.
On a virtual machine, you can install the Windows version you most like and the Access version you need, so you won't have any problem using it. You just need a full Windows version with its DVD or ISO image and product key, and an application like Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox to create the virtual machine. If you want to save money, System Builder versions are cheaper and you can find them at Amazon or NewEgg.
As you have a Mac Pro, I suppose you won't have any problem using a 64-bit version, but it's important you have enough memory. Open  > About this Mac, and check how much memory you have. I recommend 4 or 8 GB of memory at least.
After installing Windows on the virtual machine, you will be able to install Access there.
There are applications for OS X that allow you to run Windows applications without having to install Windows. Those apps often fail, so I don't recommend you to use them

  • I am trying to use Microsoft Office for Mac 2011

I am trying to use Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 as my daughters school uses it (on PC's). However, it won't save any documents. It gives me the message that; it is not a valid file name, check the path to make sure it was typed correctly and select a file from the list of files and folders. All of which I think I have tried and there is just no success. It has just completely lost my daughters homework essay so it is not very popular around here at the moment! Anyone with any ideas for this glitch (?).

Doesn't sound like Office for Mac. In any case post in the Microsoft forums:

  • Can you run a program that uses Microsoft Access on a Mac?

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to Mac so pardon any ignorance...
I want to run a program called LTV on my Mac and it's based on Microsoft Access - I have installed the latest Microsoft for Mac on here and just realised for some reason it doesn't include Access - why not?
I tried to open LTV and it told me I should get the MDB extension from the app store. I did that, but the interface for the program is whack compared to what it looks like on a PC.
Any suggestions or background to this issue?
    Thanks.

You could always install Parallels and run Access under Windows?

  • I lost my ability to use Microsoft Offic for Mac, when I upgraded my MAC from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion! HELP!

    HELP !
After I upgraded my operating system on my mac, (from  Snow Leopard (10.6 ? ) to Mountain Lion (10.8.2), virtually ALL of my documents (recipes, update logs, information of untold things), have been denied to me with my Microsoft Word for Mac (which I have used since I purchased my mac in Aug.2008).
I now get a window that tells me "You can't open the application "Microsoft Word" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." (Needless to say, I cannot use Excel or anything else, either!)
Yet, I can still access them, fully (read and even print fro them), individually, by dragging a file into my PREVIEW program!
          What gives?
I am not a savvy programmer, nor do I confess to somehow being warned that this might happen when I upgraded my operating system.
Is there any reasonable (easier?) way to continue the use of these (to me) very important files? I only upgraded because I upgraded my iPhone to a 4S and wanted everything to conform to  siimilar circumstances!
         What can I DO?

You need to upgrade your copy of MS Office. You're using a version that is 8 years old (at least). You can buy Office 2011, which will work. You could also get a copy of Pages from the App Store, which is cheaper and will open Word files (though not perfectly). Or you could get a free Office clone, like OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

  • Using Microsoft Access

Is it possible to open & use an Access database document on my Macbook Air, 10.6.8? I understand there is no Mac version of Access, is using Parallels an option?

Your suggestions were great - opted for VMware Fusion so I could run both Mac & Windows; to get me to my goal of working on an Access database, I'll install Windows XP Pro & then Access. Cumbersome, but it's a workable solution. Many thanks.

  • Help!!! Using Microsoft Access In Applet

Hi, can somebody gimme guidience on the codings for the Database Connection to use Microsoft Database in my applet.
Also, If I need to open new window from my main applet on the click of a button, how would the codings be like? For the new window, I also need to perform some retrieving of data from the database. Do I need to create a new file for the class of the new window?

sounds like homework.... but here are a few pointers
    - its not a good idea to connect to the database through an applet
    - to open another window (Frame) from an applet you will have to created a trusted frame
    - try searching on the forms for the question that your about to post before you post it.... u just might find the answer.... OR a tip that might help u

  • Do i need to setup a VNC to use microsoft rdc for mac?

I am trying to gain access to my work pc (xp pro) with my intel based mpb at home running snow leopard. I've been told that everything is setup to allow an RDC on my work computer and I have microsoft RDC on my mac. However, I am still running into problems. I'm wondering if I need a VNC setup prior to using the RDC. I would appretiate any help. Thanks.

VNC & RDC (a.k.a.: RDP) are separate and for the most part have nothing to do with each other.
Did you mean VPN (virtual private network) instead of VNC? (Virtual network computing protocol.)
More than likely, you need to configure the firewall at work to allow incoming RDC sessions.  (i.e.: configure port forwarding) or use a VPN.  The VPN connects your remote computer "directly" onto the office's network, bypassing the firewall.  Creating a VPN is not trivial.  But configuring the firewall or VPN will probably require you to contact your network administrator to get the proper settings anyway.
