Using mobile abroad

I am on holiday in Gran Canaria and before leaving the UK I spoke to t/mobile customer services, told them what I was doing and where I was going and the dates. Customer services said not a problem it will cost you £25 and all you have to do is when you land in Gran Canaria is switch your mobile off and then back on and it will automatically pick up the service.......Supprise Supprise I have no service and talk about my frustration at trying to contact t/mobiule they are a joke. So T/Mobile expect a call when I return you have left me flaming angry to say the very least

Sorry to hear you are having a problem.
Have you tried doing a manual network selection in settings to see if you can manualy select a network?
Also try re-booting the device.

    Not possible. The USB connection only allows for data transfer between the computer and the device, it cannot function as a gateway to the Internet.

    You need to download and install the latest Ovi suite and install it on your laptop. Connect your phone to your laptop via usb or bluetooth in PC Suite mode.     For this you can simply upload the doc to files.acrobat.com and send the link to the recipient via Adobe Send.
    Anyone having the link would be able to access the doc.
    Alternatives would be Google Drive or One Drive.

  • I just got the iPhone 4.  I use Mobil Me to keep my calendar on my phone, computer and iPad.  But I cannot get my calendar on my phone to allow me to edit.  HELP! I have more problems but I will start here.

    I upgraded to the iPhone 4.  I use Mobile Me to keep my calendars updated on my computer, phone and iPad.  I sunk up the phone and my calendar is on the phone but I cannot edit anything.  There is NOT even an edit button!! I also color coded calendars for all my appointments and the are correct on the calendar but I do not have the option to use this on the phone becasue the color coded calendars are not an option.  PLEASE HELP!!  I have been dealing with this for several hours!!

    Just curious, why does the iPhone need this turned on? Why does the settings app need a cellular mobile data connection?
    If you turn it off, you're pestered to turn it on every time you go into settings?

    Because, that's the way Siri works...it needs an Internet connection...requests are sent to Apple's servers. No Internet, no Siri.

    has an old iphone 3gs that was not in usage for awhle.  I called ATT and had it unlocked officially. After resetting it here in USA  I gave it as a gift to someone to use abroad  with forign sim card and phone service. 
    However, at the foreign company office they were told that USA iphones can not be used outside USA.
    Is that true?
    So How can they   use  it abroad?

    I'm fairly certain you should be able to use it abroad if it was unlocked by AT&T.
    Did you restore it as a new phone and get a screen that said something similar to "Congratulations, your iPhone is unlocked"?
    If so, it should work on just about any GSM carrier, though the other person would want to make sure their carrier supports the iPhone. I was able to use my US iPhone 4 in London just fine.
    They may not have full functionality for data speeds outside the US, but that's the only issue I can think of. And I don't think that would affect the 3GS since it can't use anything faster than 3G anyway.

  • Sent Mail from IPAD using Mobile Iron and Exchange 2010

    Not sure you can help me with this one but i thought i would give it a shot.
    I am running Exchange 2010. Users can access email using iPad and other approved devices using Mobile Iron (onboarding app).
    I had a user who received a HTML message wiht an embedded image, when he forwarded that image on (adding some comments) the recipients of that email where not able to the image as intended. the image was no longer embedded it was added as an attachment.
    where the embedded image used to be it said;
    "THe linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed or deleted. Verifiy that the link points to the correct file location"
    When the message was resent from a Windows 7 Outlook client it was received as intended.
    I have not been able to reproduce the issue since. the email was received and forwarded in HTML format.
    under Settings > Mail, I think there’s a setting called “Load remote images”, This is turned on.
    Im pretty sure this is not a mobile iron issue but an message format issue.

    Based on your description, I understand that forward an email with an embedded image from mobile devices, then
    the image will display a “red x” (with error message as you find) when we receive this email in Outlook. Would you please let us know edition information of the Outlook which you use to receive the email? Meanwhile, please refer to following KB and
    check if it’s suitable for current situation.
    Images in email message disply a "red x" instead
    of the image if the Cache value in the registry is incorrectly configured

  • User having trouble connecting to VPN using mobile broadband card

    I've got a user with a laptop running Windows 7 who is trying to use an AT&T mobile broadband card to connect to a VPN using the Cisco IPSec VPN client. The card is the Sierra Wireless Momentum 4G. The VPN connection established fine, but no traffic gets passed after that. Other users can connect to the VPN fine (not using mobile broadband, though). Wired and wireless connections from this laptop are able to get to the VPN fine. It's just over the mobile broadband service that this happens. Are there any workarounds for this issue?

    To use the proprietary BB services (including Push email capability, native browser, BBM, etc.), you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), your BB-proprietary services will function (e.g., you will have Personal/Internet Email added to the email setup wizard, your BBM will function, etc).

    With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans, it's impossible to tell you specifically what any service plan might actually provide. Only the carriers can answer that question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you desire, and then talk to your carrier about obtaining (from them) a data plan that enables what you desire.
