Using mobile with Skype

If I use SKYPE with my mobile phone- will it be using my cell phone's minutes and charged the local rate.
If I use SKYPE to go on my Cell will the same minutes charge apply when calling and using my USA subscription $2.99 mo.

1. You have a different issue. No two issues are ever the same - too many variables.
2. As you are both on Skype just call Skype-to-Skype. Your calls are free worldwide.

I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

I want to Use iChat with Skype to Videoconference several people

I want to video conference in my niece in New Zealand (PC using Skype) with iChat and the rest of my Mac family stateside.
I have Skype for Mac running and I have the iChat AV running. Any chance to hook in the Skype User with the iChat multi-pane video conference?
It looks like iChat only accepts iChat and AIM but not Skype. My niece apparently cannot get AIM in New Zealand.
Any clever help would be appreciated.

I want to use iChat for Skype as well. I want one chat client for all my communications. That was the point of iChat in the beginning, wasn't it? Hopefully, Apple will jump on the ball and support the best way for us common folk to communicate internationally. The supported Aim when they were king, why not the new king?
I stinks that I can not use the great app, because one no Skype but two I don't know anyone else that uses .mac.

I have one.
You can possible get a used one for $30-$50 on Craig's List or eBay. Be sure & get one with the laptop mount. The first versions only came with a table mount.

E61 with Skype for Mobile (beta) can't call?

i just installed Skype for Mobile (Beta) onto my E61, am able to login.
but once login, i cannot skype call at all, i select active contact and press "CALL" button, but there is no response.
has anyone been successful using E61 with Skype?

Using ACD LED 24" iSight with Skype (or other programs except for iChat)

Hi,
I have my MacPro connected to the ACD LED 24" (USB + Mini DisplayPort + magSafe) and it works well except for that the ACD has the iSight camera and I cannot use it with Skype. So when I talk to sb using the video I have to keep my macPro open to use it's camera, and not the ACD iSight.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or sm knows how to solve it?

Can FaceTime be used with Skype?

I'm a new user, I'm used to Skype and my folks use Skype, can anybody tell me if I can use FaceTime with Skype or how can I activate the camera to be used for Skype? Is that possible at all?

ISight with Skype and aMSN - inverted picture

When I use iSight with Skype or aMSN, the picture is horizontally inverted and no longer functions as if I'm looking into a mirror like with iChat.
There are no options in either program to change this (that I can find). Does anyone know of a solution? I would like flip it horizontally so the image is as if I was looking into a mirror as per iChat.

Did you get enough info from Tony (Defcom) to consider your question Answered?
I know of no cheaper solution to your problem for both Skype and aMSN than the $8 iGlasses suggestion than Tony offered, but there may be individual solutions that some aMSN or Skype users could recommend.
If you are willing to consider different software for each application, you can search the great Skype Help pages for Skype-specific help or post your question in the Skype for Mac OS X forum.
For a aMSN-specific solution, try a search or post in the aMSN Forum.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

USB headset trouble with Skype

*I have a pair of "Skype certified" headsets (Typhoon) and a LogiLink USB splitter. When using it with Skype, I can hear fine, but the headset microphone does not work*. I've changed all the preference settings on my computer and with Skype and I've even downloaded SoundSource to make it easier (recommended in another forum). But nothing works.
I had this problem about two years ago when I first bought my computer and tried using a Bluetooth headset with Skype and that didn't work either.
Oddly, the headset mike works when testing it with the Apple system preferences (at least the blue bars seem to move) but not when dialing up the Skype sound test.
Any ideas? I'm rather frustrated at this point and would appreciate any advice.
Like I said, I've already tried all the basic things like: 1. toying with the Mac and Skype sound preferences; 2. updated with all the newest software (at least for 10.5.8); 3. downloaded Sound Source; 4. double-checked the USB connection, etc.

I'll give that a try. But I find that in these sorts of situations, I get tossed back and forth between the interested parties (i.e. Apple, Skype, headset manufacturer, etc.) with no one really taking responsibility nor having a sense of the whole picture (what's really behind the problem). But I will definitely give it a shot. Thanks.

Does SPA2102 work with Skype?

Hi all -
Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere.
I have an SPA2102 unit that I obtained in the UK. I want to reset all the installation settings and pass it to family in Canada so that they can use it with Skype. Is this possible? If so, how?
A couple of specific questions I have:
* they have a satellite Internet connection and a Linksys fixed-wire online (I'll have to get the model #) router. I assume the SPA2102 unit would just plug into that, and a regular phone into the SPA unit?
* I have a UK plug connection. Can they just use an adapter for the Canadian electrics? i.e. without a transformer?
* how do I reset the system and where can I find the minimum required settings for Skype?

Skype cannot be used with your SPA2102 mainly because it is using a proprietary protocol. The adapter is only compatible with VoIP providers using SIP protocol.
Connecting a VoIP adpater behind another VoIP adapter usually causes latency/delay and voice quality issues due to bandwidth discrepancy.
I'm not sure about this but I believe you cannot just replace the adapter with another adapter with different specs..you still need a transformer
You can reset the SPA2102 by dialing **** 73738 # on the phone connected to the FXS port. Press 1 to confirm. Just listen to the prompt on the phone.

Can I use the same Skype subscriptions on my Mobil...

Hi, I am trying to fnd out if I can use the same Skype subscriptions on my Mobile and my PC/Skype Phone in the office.
My office Skype phone works perfect, - now I want to venture out and use Skype on my Mobile to call and receive national US as well as International/Worldwide calls. I have the appropriate subscriptions on my Skype office phone already.
Can I use the same subscriptions on both devices??

Yes, you can by loggin in with the Skype name on both devices. But you can't perform calls using your subscriptions from both devices *simultaneously*.
