Using MobileMe Gallery instead of iWeb 06 for eBay Picture Hosting

After a problem with iWeb '06 I discovered, with help from members here and on eBay, that I can use MM Gallery for eBay. You Control-Click your Gallery picture to get its URL and paste that into your item description.

UPDATE!
There's a package of 3 html files, one that is called index.html. that can find the URL of a photo on the grid page of an iWeb photo page. When used it will look like this

MobileMe Gallery features in iweb?

I have started to create a Family website using iWeb and want to be able to allow family members to upload and download pictures to their own albums on the site. It looks like a MobileMe Gallery would provide that type of functionality, but I do not have a MobileMe account and can no longer sign up for one. Is their anything in iWeb or iCloud that would provide this same type of functionality?

iWeb just made the layout and appears to not be expected to continue developement.
MobileMe Gallery does not currently appear to have an equal in iCloud.

Remember we are in the digital age where things constantly change. iPhoto support sharing to Facebook and Flickr directly. If I were to hazzard a guess not many people, as an average, were publishing to MobileMe, opting for the other mentioned solutions. You and I might be part of a minority that did. It is possible that a similar feature will appear down the road, but for now... don't count on it.

i have built this iweb site and embedded my mobilemegallery like this:

so what i need is:
how can i access more attributes so that the option button on the right upper corner is disabled or if this is not working i want just that the options are disabled but you can enable it with the button, but default=disabled.
as you can see my default view is mosaic!
when i leave the current album and go to another one on my mobileme gallery the default view is Raster how can i handle this that my default view is always mosaic in all of my public gallerys?

Cyclosaurus is the top javascript person in this forum. He's posted many tips and solutions using advanced javascript in HTML snippets. Most, no nearly all of his stuff is over my head and I just copy, use and recommend. Find one of his posts and ask him to view this thread and if he might have a the solution you're looking for.
A possible alternative is to use an iPhoto MobileMe gallery and embed that in your web site. You can select any of the gallery modes to be the mode you link to, grid, mosaic, carousel or slideshow. My example is linked to the mosaic mode. You also can isolate that gallery from any others that you might have so that visitors can only view that particular gallery. Changing the content of that gallery would be done thru iPhoto.

Adding mobileme gallery content in iWeb with a personal domain

I've been building gorgeous looking pages in iWeb this year which I have attached to a personal domain.
I'm having trouble adding a movie that I have published on my mobileme gallery as widget is telling me there is nothing available. Could this be because I have iWeb pointed towards my own domain even though it's hosted by mobileme?
I'm confused and really want to add this video as something over than through a hyperlink.
Any help appreciated.

If you have a MMe gallery that you want separate from the others but still have viewable in an iWeb site and page set its setting in iPhoto to be hidden from the rest of the gallery:

Visit the gallery online and copy it's URL address. Add that address to iFrame code in an HTML snippet as I've done in this demo page: MobileMe Galleries and Quicktime Movies (the code is shown on the page). You can set the gallery to disiplay in any of the availablemodes, grid, mosaic, etc., by using the URL for that mode.
The visitor can view the gallery but will not be able to go to your other galleries. Just a way to post a single gallery to your web page.

MobileMe gallery movie in iweb too small

I posted my videoin my MobileMe gallery. I posted two sizes, iphone size and a HD size. I then use the MobileMe gallery widget to use that video in my website. I want the large size to show up in my website. Though it only allows me to resize to the small iphone size.
I'm thinking it's defaulting to the small size. Is there a way to have both sizes in my gallery, and use only the large size? Or do I just need two different files uploaded as two different movies.

Linking MobileMe gallery back to iWeb

I have created a iweb 08 site which links to my mobileMe galleries but once you are inside the main gallery which contains all of the galleries there is no way of linking back to my site.
Am I missing something ?

The obvious solution is to not use Aperture to create your gallery.
Apple has included some dirt-easy ways to share your files via galleries that export directly from your iApps. The galleries purpose are to quickly share files, like an Apple version of YouTube. If you want more control over the pages you have to create them yourself using iWeb. Make a picture or a movie gallery in iWeb and you can link it to other pages and play with the format ad nauseam. This is not hard to do. You can drag a whole set of picts into an iWeb page and it automatically generates the picture table. One thing that I have found is that to keep the pictures in the order I wish I drag them one at a time. iWeb uses some crazy scheme to determine the order they are in otherwise. (It is not by filename which would be logical.) You can easily arrange them on the page but I don't like having to do the extra step.
I looked at my galleries in my iDisk to see if the html might be editable. From what I can tell there is not editable html since there is no index pages. There may be a way to include an html "back" snippet but I can't see how. Apple has intentionally disabled the user controls on these galleries.

Use Kerio calendar instead of apples for web based calendar?

I use apples wiki and blog server, but for calendaring I use Kerio's. Just wondered if there is any way to view kerio's calendar as the web based calendar instead of apples?

Sure. Connect to the Kerio web client and click on Calendar.

Using thickbox-gallery extension in DWCS6 for webpages sliced in fireworks CS5

After designing my webpages in Fireworks CS5, I have exported them into Dream weaver CS6 but I can't seem to place the "thickbox" extension for my gallery in an aligned manner. in order words it has refused to position itself horizontally from left to right of my page.
Please can anyone help me in this regards.

Meanwhile I'm happy to inform you that I figured out a way to solve the problem I reported here. The process is as follows:-
When you add the "thickbox" gallery and you want to make it align horizontally from the left to the right. First off, select the "gallery" (usually the 2 default thumb nails/galleries) you added, simply go to your "CSS Styles" panel and under "Current" tab. Add the "Display" property and then on the right, change its attribute from anything it is to "inline". At the instance, the "thickbox" gallery changes alignment in a landscape manner and positions itself from left to right. You could also try out other possible "attributes" of "Display" to see the one that could also give you what you want or same result. Once you're happy, you could go ahead to swap your thumbnail images and populating your galleries.
It took quite some time to discover this.

How do I set the preference to use Wired interface instead of Wifi for network?

I have a MacBook Pro, with Thunderbolt. Am using the Time Capsule for my wifi and backups. Is there a way to have both Wired and Wifi connected, but use Wired when available for faster downloads as well as faster backups?

Sure there is. Just run an Ethernet cable to the notebook and connect it to the Ethernet port. OS X will fedault to the wired connection and or you can turn off WiFi.
EDIT:
I see at the bottom of your post you have a Retina, should of stated that in the header or body of the post.
You will need either a Thunderbolt to Ethernet or USB to Ethernet adapter to have a Wired connection to your router.

I can't get MobileMe Gallery to stop trying to move pictures from it to Aperture. I never posted pictures to MobileMe Gallery. HELP

MobileMe has been discontinued
Aperture will move albums you have published to Mobile Me Gallery into the Albums section of your library to preserve them.
If I chose OK it will say aperture is moving mobile me gallery and it takes forever but I've never posted pictures to that gallery.

If you migrated from MobileMe to iCloud your Addressbook will now be synced with iCloud and not with MobileMe.
Make sure, the AppleID you are using with iCloud is the same you when upgrading from MobileMe to iCloud. Your iCloud account has to be enabled in the Addressbook and your contacts should appear in the iCloud accounts section.
To sync your Contacts, they have to be enabled in the iCloud preferences, like this:

What's the best foto editing for eBay pictures?

I take digital photos of eBay items I'm sellling, then transfer them into iPhoto v 5.04. I then immediately export them into my Picture folder using iPhoto's "Export Photo" "File Export" defaults: JPG, Full-size images, Use Filename, Use extension. I've not studied iPhoto 5 other than to use it fo download my pictures
I've been editing the pictures using an old Classic program I got used to called Adobe PhotoDeluxe. The program has plenty of features and gets me exactly what I want. This is not PhotoShop.
Is anyone familiar with this Adobe PhotoDeluxe? My question is: is iPhoto a full featured photo editor that will do everything. I particularly have in mind one feature of A
PD. I take a lot of pictures of posters. They never come out of the camera in a rectangular shape. They appear as trapezoids. Adobe Photo Deluxe has one feature that allows me to widen, say, the bottom side of a poster that is narrower than the top side.
Another thing I can do is fill in colors with great precision, easily working up to a boundry to another color that I don't want to over lap.
I can then easily turn the finished product into any size jpeg I wish to up load.
Does iPhoto 5.04 do these kinds of things? If it does I can just stay in iPhoto, and eliminate a step towards having an upload ready photograph.
I have a 100% eBay feedback rating with posters and maps averaging $300.00 apiece and I believe the quality of the pictures has helped me a lot with many successful sales. I get good results while not wasting a lot of time being overly fussy.
Does the community have any ideas or , opinions about my eBay photography needs and perhaps experience that iPhoto will do for my kind of work?

iPhoto is primarily an image organization program, not an image editing program like Adobe Photoshop and like programs.
The editing features you mention:
__Adjust canvas dimensions (the widening of the narrow parts of your pictures)
__Color fill (aka paint bucket...ahh I miss MacPaint)
Do not exist in iPhoto.
There are a variety of programs out there that offer the tools you refer to.

I am trying to create a website. How can I access a password protected photo gallery by using MobileMe gallery widget in iweb. I need this capability. The unprotected galleries display using the MobileMe widget. Any suggestions?

Using mobileme password protected galleries on iWeb

I have a bunch of galleries on my mobileme gallery; most of them are visible only by specific users. I would like to use them on a iWeb (password protected) web site but the option Insert-> MobileMe Gallery is only available for public galleries not for password protected ones. Is there any workaround for this?

You could try embedding a Gallery in your iWeb page — see this old thread:
