Using Mozilla Thunderbird as default e-mail client

How do I change the default e-mail choice from outlook express to thunderbird. There must be a lot of us that do not like outlook and want to send photos and other stuff via thunderbird.
Can anyone help me accomplish this

Your most welcome Rick. I'm just a newbie trying to figure this one out for myself, too. Has a lot to do with who your ISP is, too. For instance, I just learned that MSN won't even support you using Thunderbird. Pretty cheesy, I thought. I'm switching from them, probably today anyway. Had nothing but problems with me Inbox the last two months. I don't have time for this silliness.
I've been using Firefox now for several months and really like it, so it just made sense to start with Thunderbird, too. I'm calling Verizon here shortly to inquire if they will support Thunderbird. Otherwise, I'm absolutely amazed at how much of their ISP info they already have on their website, www.verizon.net. It's hard to find a good one these days. Remember to check on the mozilla.org site for additional help. They have their knowledge base, support forums - even one specifically for Thunderbird, etc. Pretty good operation. yes, it is a little bit different. This is the issue.....

is about a different solution. I do not need to count the number of lines of the source message.
And the second variable is about concat line by line from unbound node to unbound node.
My issue is:
Souce:
Message line (0...unbound) ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
.    ResultLine   (1..1)
Mapping:
=>   ResultLine1
       ResultLine2
       ResultLine........          => into UDF to an element (1..1) in one mapping operation.
So that all "ResultLine"s are included.
The result is explained in the given link for Mail attachment with UDF.
So I am not sure how to use this thread for my issue.
In the comments of that blog Christoph Gerber writes that the new variable feature can only handle single values.
So it is not suitable for my purposes as I have a list of values here that needs to be moved into the target message field.

Emailing photos using Mozilla Thunderbird

There was an article in the NY tImes this week that indicated you could mail photos directly from IPhoto using mail packages other than Apple's mail package. It said to go to IPhoto preferences, click on the General tab, and select an email program from the menu next to "Email photos using" I use Mozilla Thunderbird for mail but it doesn't appear on the menu. Is there a way to get IPhoto to recognize Thunderbird as an email package? Thanks for your help.

At this time the only supported apps are Mail, Entourage, Eudora and AOL. There is no way to add other clients.

You can set up your default mail client in Mail.
Open Mail
In the menu bar choose Mail... > Preferences
In the Preferences pane choose General and in the Default email reader menu select your email client
Quit Mail
Now when you click on a link in Safari that email client will open.

It looks like that this is a common problem (bug) in adobe pse10 or 11 as i cannot send images in photo mail under the organizer using microsoft outlook 10 as the email client or using adobes"s e-mail client. In adobes"s e-mail client i cannot get it to send my verification code to my e-mail adress.This is rediculous as a message says if you cannot use micrsoft outlook 10 as the e-mail client then try to use our e-mail client which is non-functional!! But I had to install windows live mail and use it as my e-mail client and it worked. Why hasn"t this been fixed already by your techies as it has been going on for a few years. Thanks!! You can do it in PSE, but it will be more efficient to do it in a program such as WORD or MS Publisher.
These programs have templates that correspond to the paper stock that is readily available. Use PSE to enhance any pictures, perhaps create or refine your logo, etc., then import the graphic into WORD.

How can I launch the default e-mail client?

I need my CVI 7.1 WinXP application to pop up a blank, pre-addressed e-mail. 'Kinda like a "mailto:[email protected]" link would work in a browser. I've tried everything I can think of to do this using shell and system commands. I do not want to assume any particular e-mail client or browser on the client machine. But I will assume a Windows OS. Anyone have any tricks to do this?

As Chaos says, ShellExecute is part of the SDK.
From the project window, go to Edit > Add Files to Project >> Library (*.Lib) and browse to ...\CVI\SDK\lib\Shell32.lib.
Add these two includes to the top of your list in the .c file.
Note: delete the space after < (I added the space to fool the forum's HTML error detection).

How do I set Thunderbird to be the default email program when emailing photos using Iphoto 6? Under preferences, it offers four choices (Mail, Microsoft Entourage, Encarta and something else.)
How do add Thunderbird to this list - or at least set thunderbird as the default?

Simply, you can't do this.
If you want to set thunderbird as your default email client, you do this in the Mail Preferences. But that will not add it to the list in iPhoto.

Cant send emails using Mozilla Thunderbird

Hi I have just moved back to BT from TalkTalk I was originaly with Pipex and I have a @homecall.co.uk email address , I can still receive emails from this address which I would like to keep but I cant send on this address . I have changed the outgoing SMTP to mail.btinternet.com but still cant send . I then changed all settings to BTinternet but then could not send OR receive .
Can anyone tell me how to change the settings so that I still use the homecall.co.uk email AND the new btinternet.com addresses.

I downloaded Thunderbird for my Mac for one single purpose, simpy to be able to send an email by executing the time and date i wish my email to be send, automatically. The extension saves the message to draft and monitors the messages in the draft folder, when the chosen time arrives it moves the message to unsent and sends unsent messages. So i can send messages in the future.
I dont know how to manage this, and i would appreciate help and tutorials from you guys!

Using two gmail accounts in Mac Mail client, smtp server issue

I've set up two gmail accounts (one personal, one from my job) in Mac Mail. The personal account is set up via POP, the job account is IMAP. I receive mail into each account with no problem. However Mac Mail won't allow me to set up two separate smtp.gmail.com servers (one for each account). If I edit my SMTP server list and try to change either account individually, it changes BOTH accounts. So I can receive with no problem, but can only send mail from both accounts from ONE account (which ever one I've programed). Is there a way to set up two SMTP severs through gmail (one for each account)?

I have two separate ones set for password authentication to two different accounts.
In your smtp server list, how many are listed? If only one, click the add button and set it up for the other account.

I've tried EVERYTHING suggested in this link (http://blog.timolthof.com/outlook-no-default-mail-client-error/) and everything google and bing and still this message keeps popping up. Now when I do a windows search for email, I'm not able to view
the email due to this message.
For the record, I am running W7 Ultimate x64 and connected via Excange Server. I do have another system that is running Office 2010 with none of these problems so I don't know if it's related to Exchange though the searches I've done don't allude
to that.

I've already set Firefox's mailto/send etc email program to Gmail, but I want to also set the Windows 7 default mail client to use FireFox (which knows to use gmail). For example, when in Windows Photo Viewer I click "email" and then "attach" I get an error: "Either there is no default e-mail client, or the current client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default email client" What is the equivalent way to run FireFox and set it as the default Windows 7 client? I want my OS default e-mail to open Firefox and then use the e-mail settings already setup in FireFox.
