Using multimedia messaging with wifi not 4G

We have 2 Samsung galaxy S4 phones.  One of them will receive MMS messages while the phone is on WiFi settings, the other one will only receive them if it is on 4G.  What settings do I need to change so both phones receive MMS messages while on Wifi?

If you're using the stock text app, mobile data is required to send/receive MMS.  If you're using Verizon Messages, those will send/receive over wi-fi.

    I doubt the phone is locked to GCI in any way
    Well, you're wrong, & in fact not only is it locked, GCI does not offer unlocking for iPhones.
    Fact is your post won't help the OP.
    And you are 100% sure its locked to them? How can you know this? While GCI does not offer unlocking that does not mean the phone is actually locked to it. Get off your high horse.
    Its possible the original owner had an unlocked phone. he was using with GCI. Or that GCI doesn't actually have locked phones. Seeing as they don't even have their own infrastructure but instead use AT&T's I doubt they'd have iPhones specifically locked to them and that would be the reason they do not offer unlocking (because there's nothing for them to unlock). And just to clarify, I'm not saying for a fact its not locked to them. It very well maybe be, but without knowing more about the phone and going by the fact GCI uses AT&T infrastrucure its possible its not locked. But here's no way to say for sure either way.
    Trying a Sim card from AT&T or another carrier might just help the OP if its actually unlocked or locked to AT&T rather than GCI.

    Hi, i am wondering if i use 4g together with wifi in the same time will this increase the internet speed ?

    The iPad has a micro-SIM card slot - nothing special or unique about it.
    The iPad is not sold as carrier locked.

  • Is it safe to use the ipad with wifi 3g outdoor.

    I am confused of the Ipad 2 wifi with 3g,is it safe to use this 3g when I am not in my wifi at home?will the hackers won't go thru my Ipad 2? I have a safe wifi conection at home. so, which you think to prefer to use the Ipad 2 wifi only or Ipad 2 wifi +3g? I probably bring my Ipad 2 when I go to the mall or somehwere else but not most of the time. is it depends on my use?

    3G does have encryption built in.  I can be broken however,  People use smart phones all the time with 3G and I do not know af any real problem.

  • Using iPhone only with WiFi without local phone companies

    When abroad it is better to use only WiFi (where available as Roaming is too expensive) but most of the times all calls are again going through local phone companies, despite making "off" for Cellur data, 3G and Roaming on Settings. How I can be sure the calls and other usage of my iPhone 4S is only with WiFi? Or how to exlude telephone companies for sure?

    Her phone will automatically stop broadcasting using Wi-Fi if you put your device to sleep or after 90 seconds elapse with no devices connected using Wi-Fi. You can start broadcasting your Wi-Fi network again by tapping Settings > Personal Hotspot.

  • Use single message with multiple spry "states"

    forgotten past decided to use spry widgets to do the validation. One of the things that can get old pretty quick is to have to create a different message for each thing that can go wrong, even if you need to display the same message. For example, if a user needs to enter 9 digits, the message for entering too few, too many, and letters can pretty much be handled by "The value should be exactly 9 digits."
    Is there a way to use just one div/span and have it show for all of these conditions? I need to be able to code this manually, because for whatever reason the widgets don't show up properly in the DW UI (either because it's an old version or because the widgets have been edited by hand at some point in a way that's incompatible with the DW UI). It also needs to be compatible with older browsers (i.e. I could probably do this by assigning multiple classes to the element(s), but I am not sure what browsers would support this). Many of our users are in libraries, so we have to anticipate that the browser may not be up-to-date.

    Don't use Spry.  Adobe abandoned the framework in 2012.  It is no longer supported.
    Best advice, use HTML5 forms alone or with jQuery validation.  In the following example, the number field requires 9 characters.  This works in modern browsers.
    <form id="MyForm">
    <label for="number">Number:</label>
    <input name="number" type="number"  id="number" placeholder="123456789" maxlength="9" minlength="9" required>
    <input id="submit" name="submit" type="submit" value="SEND">
    </form>
    For older browsers that don't support HTML5 forms, you can add jQuery validation to your forms by adding this to your document's <head> tag.
    <!--LATEST JQUERY CORE LIBRARY-->
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js">
    </script>
    <!--JQUERY VALIDATE PLUGIN-->
    <script src="http://ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/jquery.validate/1.11.1/jquery.validate.min.js">
    </script>
    <!--INVOKE FORM VALIDATION-->
    <script>
    $(document).ready(function() {
        $("#MyForm").validate();
    </script>

  • Viber only working with wifi, not with 3g

    Hi,
    Can anyone explain why viber works on my iphone nomatter if im in a wifi hotspot or in the middle of no where, yet my wife has to be in a wifi hotspot for it to work on her iphone? we both have 3gs iphones, both running os4.3.
    Could it be as simple as a setting?
    Regards
    Paul

    Hi, i have an ipnone 4 and im with Optus 3G. Viber is only working for me (send texts and make calls) ONLY when im on wi-fi. If im not connected to a wifi connection it will not send any texts or make a call. If i try send a text it turns into a red dot with an exclamation mark near my comment and then it comes up with a message saying "An internet connection is required to set up Viber. Check your connection and try again. The request timed out."
    Please can you reply to my email [email protected] with any help.
    Thanks

  • MMS messages with WiFi on

    I just assisted in the purchase of 2 Lumia 925 on T-Mobile US
    a day or after the purchase, both users noticed that they weren't able to send or recieve MMS messages.
    I called TMo, and they instructed me to turn off the wifi ... Lo n behold the MMS's started flowing again...but this didn't make any sense to me why MS/NOkia would make such a setting ... with the wfi off, you can't back up your pictures at the highest res n such...it just wouldn't make sense...
    well, messing around with phone myself, i found the following setting which resolved the issue
    go into setting > cellular > "for limited wifi connectivity" - toggle it to use cellular...

    Hello Kitty1952! I can certainly help you today! My apologies for the trouble you're experiencing! All MMS messages need data in order to send & receive properly. Let's ensure that your data is enabled. Even if you're connected to Wi-Fi, as long as your data is enabled, you'll be able to send properly. To verify data is on: Go to Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > verify Mobile Data is checked off > Go to Global Data roaming Access > Verify Allow access for all trips is enabled. Power off device to reset for 1 minute. Then try to send a MMS message to yourself to test the sending & receiving. Keep us posted, thanks!

  • N95 Using multimedia keys with other software?

    Some programs require using the landscape mode with both hands so is it possible somehow to use those multimedia keys in other softwares? They seem to not recognize them.
    If not, does someone know any program which could create a mirror button from them? Like you could set the number "3" to do the same action as "play" button.

    Which applications do you mean. Still not quite sure what you want to do.
    I have added additional applications to the Multi-media menu, but you activate it normally via pressing the MM key and then cycling through the menu list.

  • Using Tmobile 8320 with wifi but no data plan...

    What will work and what won't work?
    I have wifi access 24/7 so a data plan would just be a waste of money.
    I plan on using my BB for messaging/calendar/Jivetalk and a little bit of web browsing.

    Siri requires internet access, which can be with an available wi-fi network.

  • Maps only locating with wifi not Edge

    Using Wifi, Maps can pin point me down to a matter of yards... at a street address I lived in over a year ago! Using the Edge network I am not found at all and I understand that's a function of cell tower location. I can accept that and will try again when moving.
    But any ideas where the Wifi side of it would be getting data on me over a year old and pin pointing me there?
    I began to think perhaps the past year was all a dream and my iPhone was my only link to the real world with that dream... maybe I'll wake up soon.

    On Wi-Fi, my system also localizes me to an address I used over a year ago. I do have the same base station as I did at that previous address.
    I think it has something to do with Skyhook and how they localize your address by literally driving around and picking up hotspots and recording locations. They must still think that the signal given off by my wireless router is at my old address because they haven't rescanned over the past year.
    And this strategy is useful how??

  • How do I use multiple messages with CAN CREATE MESSAGE?

    I'm an old hand at DAQ, but new to CAN.
    I need to configure the CAN interface without using MAX or a DBC file directly (because i want the user to configure EVERYTHING in one place, and MAX doesn't handle my other channels).
    I can provide the message IDs, channel start bits, etc., etc., by importing a DBC file myself.
    So I'm looking at the CAN CREATE MESSAGE vi. I can make it work, using a single message, and a few channels on that message.
    But how do I add another message to that task? Or do I create another task to handle a different message?
    What's the difference between CAN CREATE MESSAGE and CAN CREATE MESSAGEex? I can't find any in the help docs.

    you can’t programmatically add messages/channels to an already existing task
    So I can't create a task with more than one message, and I can't add a message to an existing task.
    That sounds like I have to have a separate task for each message I want. That means separate READ operations at DAQ time. I hope the overhead doesn't cost too much (I'm doing a thousand other things at DAQ time).
    I have an RT card in the system I'm designing. It's only using about 5% of the CPU time (PID controlling an engine). Will NI-CAN stuff work on the RT? How do I physically connect it? Is CAN just RS-232 at fast baud rates, or are there more electrical differences?

  • ALE using HRMDA message type - Comit not perform in receiving system

    Hi,
    I want to use ALE to transfer HR master data between two ECC instances. I have set-up all the configuration; distribution profile, filter etc... I tried to transfer the master data using standard SAP report RHALEINI.
    The iDoc is generated and transfer correctly in the receiving system. The final status of the iDoc is 53 - Application document posted. The issue we have is that the comit to tables is not happening. Infotypes remains empty even if the status of the iDoc says it was posted. We are trying to transfer infotype 0000, 0002, 0001 and 0006
    Anyone can help ?....
    Thanks
    Louis

    Hi Ted,
    Thanks for your answer,
    Autorization is the first thing that we consider. We generate the IDOC by the program RBDMIDOC .
    The job's user is the sap_all authorization. So it should not related with auth.
    And this does not always occur. For example, two days ago it occurs, but today does not occur.
    Best Regards
    Hasan.

  • How can I use external tables with directories not on Oracle host?

    Oracle 11.2.0.2
    We have developers using C# to populate global temporary tables (two one header and detail with 1 to many relationbship between these two tables). The process of using C# was blowing up memory on Windows.
    As an alternative I requested them to create two CSV files and I can use sqlldr to load the detail CSV file of over 1 million rows under 15 seconds. It came to my mind that I could use external tables for this purpose with getting read of header and trailer from the CSV files.
    The issue I have is that I am not a DBA so I do not have access to OS host that Oracle instance is running. sqlldr is a client side tool, whereas external tables are server side. I was wondering if there is an alternative in 11g to use external tables without creating directories on the OS host that Oracle runs on? Are there other alternatives?
    Thanks
