Using Muse Remotely

When I use Muse with GoToMyPC, which works flawlessly with other programs, it moves stuff all over the place and I basically have no control when editing a page. Why is that?

Using Muse without an internet connection

This morning, while my internet connection was down, I was somewhat surprised – alarmed actually – that I am unable to preview a site build using Muse. Neither the Preview tab nor Preview in browser function would work. The browser preview appeared shortly after my connection was restored (I had since shut Muse down). Surely the software is able to function 100% without a constant link to Adobe?
(FWIW, while the connection was down Acrobat would stop responding after a viewing a few pages of a PDF)

There maybe something else causing your issue. You should have no problems previewing pages without an Internet connection as long as all the content is on your local machine. If you are getting some remote content such as Google Maps or perhaps if you have some content in the head section such as Google Analytics that requires a connection it may cause you to not load the page.
Just straight Muse pages stored locally on your own computer should have no problem at all.

Obviously I am out of my league. I am not a programer and I thought this would be something simple, but you guys are talking over my head.
I thought I could create a simple link to the Happy.rdp and it would run...but as mentioned, you can't do that.
What I have is a java script with a bunch of parameters (see below) that creates a pull-down menu. I was hoping I could list the names of the servers, click on the one I want to connect to, and I would get the log-in screen. That is my goal.
I have a "Happy.rdp" icon on my desktop and I click on that and the remote connection starts. I have opened "Happy.rpd" in notepad and it has all the parameters (such as the IP address and stuff) that allow me to connect.

Is there a way to open the mircophone channel using Apple Remote Desktop so I can listen on anything thats happening at my computer at home? If not is there another software that would work?
Also is there a way to use apple's software to control and watch a PC?

You would have to launch software that would accept audio from the microphone and transmit it to you in some fashion. ARD does not transmit audio itself. Another remote control solution such as Timbuktu might transmit audio, so you could look into that, perhaps.

You can install a VNC server on the PC and ARD can then take control of the system. It can be tricky to find a VNC system that will work with ARD, though, so search this forum for "VNC" for possible options. One of the applications that support Microsoft's remote desktop architecture such as their own Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac or iTap Mobile RDP will probably work better, though.

Can no longer use the Remote app on iPhone 5 or iPad 1

Hi,
I've long used the Remote app to control my iTunes library which I stream through two Airport Expresses. It's been a great solution for some time.
However, since the latest updates, I can no longer do this. The iTunes library does not show up in the app, only a message telling me to turn on Home Sharing in iTunes.
I have turned Sharing off and on on the iPhone, iPad and iTunes but have had no luck getting it to work.
Any suggestions welcome!

Cant see my airplay icon, cant use my remote app on either of my devices

I have the gen 3 apple TV and somehow i can no longer airplay, from my mac book pro, ipad, ipad mini or iphone. It used to work on all of my devices and now I cant see the icon.
When I open my remote app it tells me that I have to turn on Home sharing on my itunes or apple tv. It is turned on, on all of my devices.
I have been trying to trouble shoot this issue (all of my devices have the latest updates) and I still cant use my remote or air play
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I was able to fix the issue by unpluging the apple tv, router, and modem all for about 2-3 minutes and then replugging them in

How do I use the remote app on a dual band network?

There are 2 routers in my home. One is dual band (SSID: NETGEAR49-5G). This one is being used as a 5GHz access point while the other (SSID: NETGEAR49) is being used as a 2.4GHz extender. However I can't use the Remote app to control my iTunes library, regardless of which router I connect to. I can't even use a passcode to add my library because I just keep getting an error saying I entered the wrong code. Strangely everything's fine if I turn off the 2.4GHz router, but I don't want to have to keep doing that. Is there any way I can configure the two routers so I can use the Remote app and other network-based services??

I can tell you how it works on my iPhone.
I click the Messages icon to open it.
I click the box with pencil icon top right for New Message
I start to type the name of the person I want to contact in the "To" spot.
(Alternatively use the Blue + icon and select direct from Contacts list)
I select the full name of Contact from any list if there are multiples.
Once the person and their Contact option is selected I click on the text field at the bottom of screen
Using the "keyboard" I type the Message and then the Send button.

Using a remote desktop connection with the Macbook pro.

I use the remote desktop connection on the Macbook pro and am unable to exchange info between the mac and the remote connetion windows. For example, if I am writing an email from the remote connection and want to attach a document, photo etc. that I created on the Mac, it just doesn't work. It seems like the Mac and the desktop connection are completely seperated eventhough they are both on the screen in front of me. the systems I use for work are not Apple compatible and will not work on anything other than windows explorer and in my case the remote desk top connection. Any ideas!

Avi/WMV video using Apple Remote App to Apple TV via iPad?

Will this work if I install the codecs to play these with quicktime? Or do I need to manually convert my videos to .mov to stream them?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
When using the remote app on the iPad/iPhone etc, the content is streamed from iTunes to the Apple TV, it is played by the Apple TV not by iTunes, therefore installing Quicktime components on your mac/pc will not help the Apple TV decode an unsupported stream.

Is there a way to use Apple remote with display closed .
examples of using apple remote with display closed would be
(1) waking the macbook with apple remote
(2) putting the macbook to sleep with apple remote
(3) Shutting down the macbook with apple remote
(4) accessing front row (using LCD TV as Display )
while doing this should I connect the macbook to power source.
please point me to any documentation / solutions available .

you must have to have a keyboard or mouse to trigger the macbook wake up from sleep when you close the lid.
usb mouse is not that expensive and you can start with that.

It's a bit restrictive to expect all users to have only one Home Sharing account - hopefully they'll address this in a future update.

Yes I believe so. Try it and see you can always delete the Apple TV from a remote if it messes things up.
But we have three remotes setup to do this. My iPhone and iPad and my wifes iPhone. She has a different iTunes logon but it seems to work fine

I have just started to use Muse for our design agency and learning how to build ourselves a new site, I have managed to create a basic lightbox which contains sliding images, what I need to do now is have a pop up window which goes into detail about the projects, what I would like is a piece of text or icon that when you roll over it and then click a separate window pops up with additional information in, once finished reading the info you can then click to close the box, any advice on how to do this?

The best way to do what you're asking is with the Composition widget. Start with the Tooltip preset, which, by default shows the info on rollover. You can change the option to show on click, which is what you're after. You can also add the close button or have the info disappear on rollout.
