Using MuVo or Nano Plus in car - Resume Playback funct

I need to use an MP3 player in my car.
I want an USB connector as ON/OFF switch.
If I start my car on, the player will resume playback from the last position of the track.
I have tried Creative Zen Nano 52Mb (not plus) and it will resume playback if I turn USB power on (car on), but.... it will remember the song when I turned it off with the normal OFF funtrion, but not the USB power OFF.
Any other players can do resume playback after USB power ON?

When the player powers up on connection to your car USB lead then it is as a removeable dri've NOT as a player which is why it doesn't resume where it was switched off - that is a function of the player.

  • Ipod Nano 7th Gen Audiobook Resume Playback

Hello, im considering purchasing the new 7th gen nano. I primarily listen to audiobook, however, and I was wondering if the issue regarding resuming playback position has been fixed on this model. The 6th gen model was having trouble remmbering the previos position in the audio book after pausing for long periods, or powering down, or switching media, etc, etc. Earlier nanos did not have this issue, but it came up with the 6th gen, and since the firmware is probably similar in the 7th gen, i wanted to see where things stand. Thanks very much!

    UPDATE:
Hello, I have recently purhased the 7th generation nano ans I wanted to post my findings regarding audiobook playback and functionality. I know there are audiobook users who, like me, may be hesitaing to get this new nano for the reasons I outlined above.
In a nutshell I had a 3rd generation nano that was flawless when it came to remembering audiobookmars, sometimes after months of use, the player would begin where I last left off. Then there was extreme problems with the 6th gen Nano, as it would fail to keep a place no matter what one did.
I am happy to report that so far, 7th gen nano is perfoming perfectly, I have several books, mp3 files (remember to select "remember playback position" in the info options of the file if you want it to get bookmarked) and movie documentaries going and all of them have held their playback position without exception, this is over a period of two weeks. The only test I havent tried yet is complete power loss do to battery drain. And Like my 3rd gen, when I use it in my car, it starts right where i left off.

  • Zen Nano Plus - can it be used in MediaSource alongside an MTP play

I was just wondering whether there would be any difficulty in using a Zen Nano Plus alongside a Zen Touch MTP player with the newest version of MediaSource, given that the latter is MTP and the former is not. Could non-protected content be transferred directly from one device to the other without problems? Also is there any likelihood of an MTP upgrade for the Zen Nano Plus in the future, or is MTP only for hard-dri've players?

You shouldn't have problem using both player together in MediaSource even in transferring audio files(non-protected content). Are you referring to being able to playback PlayForSure subscription content? I doubt it is possible(personal opinion) for the player since I believe it's more to do with the hardware rather than software.

  • Use ipod nano in the car

    Hi,
I wanna use my ipod nano in the car. I know they have FM transmitter stuffs but I'd prefer not to have any bit of static and radio interference. So I asked my car dealer to install a headphone port in my car as an auxillary port (they said it's an ipod kit). But using with normal cable doesn't let me play around with ipod using the stereo buttons of the car. So I think what I need is a cable that has a dock connector at one end and a headphone port at the other. But it doesn't seem to be sold anywhere. Any thought or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

  • I messed up install of Zen Nano Plus 1

    Windows XP Home SP2
Windows Media Player 0 (will use with Zen Nano Plus)
    Dell 8250
    ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />
During the CD install, I had some questions and interruptions that required me to cancel, exit and say ?yes? to I did not want to install at this time, but it installed some files. I did not connect the player to my computer because of the manual?s warning to not connect player to computer before setting up the software.
A search for Creative and Creative Zen brought up the following files on my computer:
    C:\Program Files\Creative\Product Registration\English
    C?\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\CTregSvr and PdtIdMgr.pid
C:\Program Files\RealPlayer\Devices had 7 Creative and Creative Zen files
I have an Iomega Zip USB mass storage device on my system which is always powered up. It is used as I go along as a 2nd backup.
Some other threads here recommend not using the install CD and not installing the software, but suggest connecting player and letting Windows XP recognize and install drivers. This is what I did with my Zip dri've. I dislike putting software I don?t need on my computer. I will be using the Nano Plus just for music, and maybe on occasion the AM/FM.
    So?..here are my questions:
. Install with CD or connect to computer and let Windows do its thing?
    2. Will the Zip dri've cause a problem and should I power it down and disconnect from the computer when installing and using the Nano Plus?
    3. Are there more files lurking about in the Registry and where? (I am O.K. working in the Registry) ? I would like to make everything clean and start fresh with a clean install, unless this is not recommended.
    4. If I do need to use install CD is a full or custom recommended?
I will appreciate any assistance and information offered.
    My thanks.
    Miki

I thought I would let y'all know my Nano Plus is installed and my USB Iomega Zip still permanently resides undisturbed in my F:\ dri've and when I connect the Nano Plus, it is recognized by G:\ as it should be.
I called Creative support and so I dd not have to use the install CD, the tech E-mailed me the drivers. When I began the install, I was asked to uninstall any mass storage devices before I installed, which I did......actually I just unplugged the Zip dri've so Windows would not know it existed. The tech said it was better to install their drivers than not; otherwise with WMP I would only be able to drag and drop.
    So.......that's my story

  • Zen nano plus music transfer er

i started using my new nano plus gb and installed all the required the programs from the cd it came with. i used the creative media source organizer and the nano plus media explorer thing. everything worked fine for my music files with the smart fit too untill it reached about 579 mb. after 579 mb, it was stuck and wouldn't let me add any more songs. i don't know what's wrong. everything read as an error. someone please help.

    thy,
There is a limit on how many files you can place in the root folder of a memory unit (player) like this, it's down to the file system. Try creating some folders and placing the songs in there instead.

  • Zen Nano Plus Folder Quest

    Hello,
I want to use my Zen Nano Plus to listen to books and to play music. I downloaded a book from my public library (way cool!) and put it in it's own folder. I downloaded a bunch of music and put all that in another folder. My problem is that I can't figure out how to listen to my book for awhile, then listen to music (ideally in shuffle mode) and then go back to the book and not have the book start over from the beginning. Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks,
    Rachel

what audio format is the book from the library? Typcially, "books on MP3" are split into 0 minute sections. You can do this yourself with a variety of programs. Audible files, of course, will play on your Nano, but you have to buy these. Audible format creates an automatic bookmark where you stop play, which is exactly what you are looking for. You can either make small MP3 files (assuming your book is MP3) and remember which file you stopped on, or you can download books from Audible.com and it works automatically.

  • Problems running creative zen nano plus and nomad muvo on same compu

We have 2 nomad muvo mp3 players and now a zen nano plus .Have had constant problems with the media organiser .
Installed zen nano plus and selected enable smart fit to get maximum amount of songs and it worked fine but as soon as we tried to install software for the 2 nomad players it would not work smart fit for any of them.
Uninstalled everything and got the zen software in and it was running ok but then seemed to have problems and although smart fit was enabled it just copied files as the original mp3.
It then fatally crashed yesterday and I am awaiting a replacement as I had only had it for 2 days.
Is it possible to run all 3 and to be able to use smart fit on all 3 players or am I better off having just one working and using the file converter for the other 2.

Make sure that you have installed the MediaSource plugin for MuVo in order to get SmartFit You have to access SmartFit via the MuVo node of the Sources window in MediaSource. You won't see SmartFit if you access your MuVo via the My Computer node of the Sources window in MediaSource..
Here is what you should do to get the latest MediaSource software:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
    - (Depending on your firmware)
Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    or:
Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative MuVo plugin .0.05 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.

  • ZEN nano plus vs. Muvo TX

Hey I have a couple of questions regarding the two MP3 Players
First of all, which one is best and why - what is the difference between them?
Second, in the Nano plus manual it says "DO NOT connect your player to your computer before setting up the software" - should this be taken literally? Because then I have to install the software on all the computers I want to copy music from? Do you have to do this with the MUVO TX FM aswell or is it just plug&play?

With both players this warning only applies if you want to use Creative's software - it likes to be installed before the player is first connected. You can just connect the player and it will appear as a dri've letter in My Computer - you can then drag'n'drop files in Explorer or use Windows Media Player to transfer your files (essential for protected/purchased music files). Which one is down to personal choice - style, cost etc. One difference functionally is that the Nano Plus has a line-in encoder so you can create mp3 files by connecting it to an external source like a CD Walkman. Unless you really need this then don't bother about it as it isn't particularly easy to get good results with it. PB

  • Zen Nano Plus/MuVo TX FM/MuVo V2

I'm contemplating buying a Creative MP3 player, but I've never had one before and I'd like to know about a couple of features. What's really pressing on my mind is if the players support folders, meaning if I can chose a folder and play all the songs inside, or if the player just takes all the songs in all the folders, sorts them alphabetically and plays them.
I want a player with GB memory, and I'd like to use it as a USB storage, too, so it should support other filetypes. Radio would be great, and I'd like to know if the radio also functions when I'm on holiday in another country, maybe even on another continent.
Until now, it seems that the Zen Nano Plus, the MoVo TX FM and the MuVo V200 are my most likely choices, plus, I like their design and they're not too expensi've. But before I buy any of them, I'd really like to know all the differences between them, so I can make the right decision. It would be great if you could help me with that.
Thanks! AldaraMessage Edited by Aldara on 0--2005 07:08 PM

I can offer some questions answered for the N200/Nano Plus, there are many others here who are more knowledgeable on the flash players.
The Nano Plus does allow you to pick each folder and play them, depending on your play mode (shuffle, normal, repeat folder etc), the folder will play how it's been told to. But, the songs are played in alphanumeric order (Eg, ,2,3,a,b,c, so you'd need the songs like 0-track.mp3, 02-track.mp3 etc). I think all Creative Flash players work that way actually.
The Line-in on the Nano Plus isn't all that good, I wouldn't really use it tbh.
It can be used a flash dri've (as all the others can)
The Radio generally on the Nano/N200 (mine's an N200, so I'm not sure how much exactly it'd differ, but they are the same player, just rebranded) is usually very good for me. I'm in London, and with the autoscan feature, I pick up the radio stations I want to listen to. I did recently bring my player to Mauritius where I did also get a good reception (in the Capital and around the Island, not where I was staying, because that's well... on a hill, I never really did try it). I also tried it out in Australia, Perth, where I actually got nothing at all, not radio station on autoscan. If I did manually go to the radio stations I did get a muffled sound. This was only where I was staying, I didn't really have time to mess around with an mp3 player while I was out.
Hope that answers some questions, feel free to ask more.

  • Zen Nano Plus - Used Battery vs. New Battery Prob

I downloaded some WMA files from Walmart.com and successfully transferred them to my Zen Nano Plus. They played fine. But the battery, which was already low on power, died. I switched in a new battery and tried playing WMA files, but they would only play for about three seconds before the mp3 player shut off.
I switched back in the old battery and the WMA files played just fine.
Both the old and new battery play the MP3 files, so there's no problem there.
Is the problem related to voltage or something? Please help.

  • Creative zen nano plus versus creative muVo v

?in regards to its player functionality and sound quality, which of the two is better ?any thoughts guys?thanks

I have the Nano Plus. Imo the sound quality is probably the same for both. The V00 has much slower file tranfer to and from the pc than the Nano Plus. Both should? get the same battery life. The Nano Plus has FM radio while the V00 has no radio. The Nano Plus was made with 52 meg or a gig of storage, while the V00 has a gig or 2 gigs of storage.
